It was very good. More noise than I would have liked, but everything else was great! I highly recommend this place
Pre-theatre reservations for 5:30 PM and no problem being promptly seated and getting out in time for a short stroll to the Sony Centre
Very helpful wait staff and wonderful food. We went for tapas and since white wines were 50% off that night we tried to select dishes that would go with the white wine. Selected one of the suggested Spanish whites and it was very good, also excellent value. Chose a variety of dishes two at a time and shared so we each had lots of variety. Service was attentive and dishes were brought to the table smoothly replacing finished servings. Wine glasses were topped up without delay. Started with the warm olives and finished with the warmed olives and finished with the Manchego cheese with dates and olive oil accompanied by a sherry. In between we had the clams with garlic, chile shrimp, scallops and potatoes and tomatoe sauce (see menu for details). I wish we had another couple with us so we could have tried more dishes. The oysters, tuna, trout and Iberian ham looked really tempting but we had plenty. Only suggestion and its a small one; I expected more selections of sherry.
I've been here several times, and Barsa is always an absolutely lovely experience. The food is fantastic, our server was a super-star and the space is gorgeous. This time, two of us did the tasting menu and it was a wonderful choice. The tartare was a huge hit; we weren't particular fans of the lamb ribs, but everything else selected was delicious and our server made interesting a varied suggestions. Will definitely be back.
Appreciated the expertise of our Server. She put our meal together and it was great.
1st visit: Excellent food, drinks & ambiance. My server was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and professional. According to my wife, the pitcher of sangria was top notch. I was not happy about the prices of the wines, (by the glass). But overall it was an amazing experience celebrating my wife's birthday who equally enjoyed herself. Thank you for a memorable experience. We'll be back.
Everything was really good. Good service. Great food. I'd like to go back.
The staff that brought out our food were great at explaining each each dish in detail. The food was very appealing visually and tasted delicious. Will definitely be recommending to others.
Went there with a Travelzoo coupon.
The information on the Travelzoo site regarding the meal special is misleading.
Its shows various dishes from the restaurant. There is no choice in the selection of food as their advertisement lead me to believe.
Its a fixed menu which is provided. No choice in the selection of food. The food which is provided does not represent the Spanish cuisine.
The service was very slow and the restaurant extremely noisy.
I wouldn't go there again.
Elegant underground Spanish place. Sangria was meh (a tad watery) but the paella was quite good. Live guitarist lent a lovely atmosphere. It was lively without being loud and there was no need to shout to be heard by your guest.
The food and our server were really good, only problem was that we had reservations and still had to wait standing at the door for about 15 minutes.
Service was great, location is perfect but found portions a little small. The sangria's are really good.
The food at Barsa was really great but we found the restaurant super noisy which really diminished the experience - although all the old stone walls are quite charming, the result is that the sounds bounce off the many hard surfaces. The service was a little lacklustre - many times we had to work hard to get the servers attention, and the kitchen wouldn't do a simple cheese swap on a salad. The wines were great if expensive.
Delicious Spanish gem in the heart of Toronto! Can't wait to go back!
This is the second time we have visited Barsa while attending an annual conference in Toronto. It did not disappoint! This time I bought a few more colleagues this year and they loved it - many having traveled through Spain at one point. The service was great and I can still taste the Ceviche although I am 500kms away again. Thanks for a great evening and see you next year!
Service was efficient and servers knowledgable and helpful. Ordered the mid range of the tasting menu and there was ample food. The feature bottle of wine was well matched to the meal. We weren't rushed even though it became busy. The only drawback is after dessert was brought, the server didn't come around to check if we wanted coffee/tea. By the time we caught her attention, we had to get the bill as we had a concert to get to. Otherwise, was an amazing meal. I will go again.
Great place to be. Amazing food. Good service
Went with my girlfriends, was so worth it. Very cozy and nice plus the food was fresh and deliciouse. Recommended it to friends and the loved it.
We went many times to Barsa Taberna for brunch and always had great time and great food. Sangrias are fantastic.
Great food! The lamb melted in our mouths. Wonderful!
Tasting menu was outstanding. We chose the wine paring and it was perfect. We will be back soon.
Great meal. Had the tasting menu and everything was yummy!
Lovely Brunch. Hope to return with family for a tasting of their Tapas menu.
The food was good, nothing special however. The steak crudo was more of a tartare, but it needed more texture and flavour. Which sucks because it was what I was most excited to try. The desserts were not good. We ordered some chocolate pastry and then churros, which were fried way too long resulting to be super dry. The ice cream that came with the churros had a lot of potential but again, needed something more.
Needs something to absorb noise. Everything else; fantastic
Atmosphere and decor are very nice. Food was excellent. Friendly prompt service
Great atmosphere - great food
Food was great but not what I expected - was expecting more smaller plate options but likely it was because we went during Valentine’s Day. Would like to try going there on a regular night. The food was out quickly except the dessert was a bit of a wait. Overall was good experience would probably go again to see what the menu is like on a regular day.
Went for a vday dinner, they had a prix fix menu which wasn't that good, especially for the price of 55 bucks. Paella tasted like simple rice with seafood. But service and the atmosphere were great
Not the best representation of Spanish food. Needs a lot of improvement.
It was a great experience..Our server was very attentive to our questions..i love the place and concept of the place..Food were so tasty a bit pricey but worth it..Keep it up👏👏
Excellent food and flavours. Wonderful presentation and service. We will be back.
Amazing food! We went to Barcelona a couple years back and this restaurant reminded us of our trip!
Seating area in the back was too bright and a bit noisy. Our food came all at once five minutes after we ordered. So it was a very short dining experience. Nicer for groups than for a date. Shrimp was exceptional. Wine was nice.
4th time to Barsa over the past 18 months, and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. The tasting menu is the way to go with a large group.
Was there on Wed.
We had a four people group. The place is good for tapas and nice for a friend get-together.
Ambiance : they initially put us against the back wall which was too brightly lit and too warm despite it being a very cold winter day.
Food: awesome. Love the bread and pate and lamb ribs.
Service : very slow to take our order. After that food just kept on coming
The best tapas we've eaten for many years--a true tasting delight!
Authentic tapas, beautiful warm lovely setting, great service. Loved it all. I will definitely go back. We had the tasting menu.. highly recommended.
Food and wine was good and service was good. Only issue was we told that we were getting a chef selected tapas for 50 dollars a head but when it came to the bill the plates where itemised separately and there unexplainable items on the bill. This led to confusion which led to a removal of some items but we where then very unsure of what was the real bill. We think in end we where charged an additional 20 dollars . Unfortunately this experience took away from potentially a memorable and refer able night
The food was very good. We ordered PAN CON TOMATE with Mangego and traditional, CROQUETA DE JAMÓN Y ALBACORE, Patatas Bravas and Paella de Mariscos . Everything was good, but paella was outstanding . I would not recommend sangria though , refreshing but little to none alcohol.
Would definitely go again.
