Look forward to a hopping good time this Sunday, April 1. Leave the cooking to us. We will be serving our regular lunch and dinner menu from noon to 9pm.

Barrio was not prepared to handle their customers. Understaffed and staff that was there was under trained. Cool environment and cool menu. They fell down on the delivery.
We were led to a special room for the 5 of us and it was really cozy. The food seemed to come out one at a time instead of us all at once which was a bit odd. The building where the restaurant is really interesting. Nice evening!
We went for Valentine's Day and appreciate there was not fixed price menu and things were low key. Food was great and selection excellent, and one can get several items for reasonable price. Cardell, our waiter, was very friendly and efficient.
We were on time for our reservations but had to wait 15 min to be seated!
If Barrio were in my neighborhood, I'd be there every week. Since it is a little out of the way, we go there for special occasions and we're never disappointed. The food is great - so much so that it's hard to settle on ordering only a couple of items. Favorites include the guacamole, ahi tuna taco and the pork belly taco. The ingredients are fresh, flavorful, and creative. The atmosphere is fun and has great energy and suits a night out with the group or just dinner for two.
Service was great. Food exceeded our expectations. Husband loved the fish taco. I enjoyed the veggie taco.
Our waiter was attentive and personable, made the evening with our friends even more fun. The guacamole chips are great. Great beer selection and a good wine list. The location is nice, we went for happy hour and could park on the street right in front of Barrio.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly . However after being seated we were not greeted by a server for at least 15 minutes . Ordering a drink took another 15 to 20 minutes . First time there, we did not understand the small plate section ,we did not like how it was brought out sporadically so that only some people in our party had food to eat while others were still waiting . The drinks were very good as well as the guacamole ! Do not think that we will go back.
We had 12pm reservations last Sunday. When we arrived the door was locked. When it was finally opened we found out that they were short staffed. Our bartender was also our server and while he made great drinks and did his best to do two jobs, it took two hours to have lunch. The food came out sporadically, although it tasted great.
Good Food, good drinks. We would go back
Great location and atmosphere. Food is always great, only drawback is limited beer options.
Amazing Food! We can’t wait to go back!
Great restaurant for a get together
Very slow service!! Some of the staff were customer oriented but unfortunately my waiter wasn’t very attentive ... argh
Food was under seasoned and the chips were pretty oily.
Pork belly taco was the best thing I had that evening.
The food and drinks are excellent. It feels a bit overpriced. The cocktail selection is great! The queso is delicious!
Great atmosphere and delicious food. One of our favorite go-to locations! The barrio margarita and table side guac are a must have!
The ambiance and food were good, but our service was poor - the waiter appeared annoyed when one of the people in our party inquired about dairy free menu options and one of our food items was completely forgotten and the waiter told us it was coming after waiting 20 minutes after the bulk of our food order arrived at our table. After we reminded him after 30 minutes that it still hadn't come he said "well, do you still want it or not?"
The food was good, the drinks were fair, but the service was poor (and you need to be prepared to pay for valet parking or parking in a nearby ramp which was $20 for us when we stayed for 2 hours).
Loved the Lowertown ambiance and the food and drinks. Great service!
The drinks cost way too much and had too much ice in them very poor value.
Even during happy hour on a Thursday, service was excellent. The food was very good. I would especially recommend Barrio during the warm months--they've got a beautiful open layout and outdoor seating. Food arrived pretty quickly, drinks quicker. You can't really beat their happy hour menu, either.
Parker is the man. That's why we went back and service was great, food was delicious overall another fantastic experience
Wanted to eat outside to listen to Mears park performance, but it rained. Inside was super noisy any seated at a small high top that I kept getting bumped, not enough space to allow people to get past.
I've been so impressed in the past, but was a little disappointed this time around. Service was definitely lacking. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Our table of three took second/third/last priority to a couple larger parties. Part of order was forgotten by server who only entered it after we reminded her. Drinks/waters were left unfilled several times.
I do appreciate that our server removed last forgotten item from the menu, but I do hope that we see an improvement the next time. It was Saturday night... There were plenty of empty tables, so it wasn't super busy... We just expect better when paying for top shelf drinks, apps and full meals.
Such a great place to dine outside! Food and service were very good, as usual!
Very loud, difficult to have a conversation.
Too noisy. Good taste good. I cannot believe they charge 1 dollar for extra chips
Went prior to the Saints game our servers were great makings sure we got the happy hour prices. Good happy hour menu margaritas were excellent.
FOOD was very tasty but very overpriced. Stingy with the chips and charged extra for more- even though we did not have enough chips to eat the salsa and guac they were sold with .
Service was ho-hum
The food was great! The pork belly taco and crab empanadas were awesome. We got there during happy hour so prices were great. We were lucky enough to sit outside on a beautiful, not busy day. However, the whole experience was sullied by our rude, absentee waitress. Unfortunate, since the tables near us had a very cheerful, helpful, attentive waitress.
Tried this place on a whim as I was looking for a place in downtown Saint Paul near to a show we were to attend later. Overall I had a great time. The food, drinks and service were spectacular. The place was quite nice. We sat inside, however outdoor seating ( which appeared full at the time ) is across from Mears park, which is a delightful little park. Overall I give it a very positive rating.
Worst experience and service I have had in a while. Never ate the food cause nobody greeted our table. I would suggest going to the Bulldog next door. They actually give a rip about customers. The Bulldog's food is excellent. I highly suggest going there instead of Barrio.
Very busy(Jazz festival was going on) service was slow food was not as good as usual.
Barrio always has an excellent happy hour & the food is amazing! The staff is extremely friendly & make you feel welcome. It's a great place for a girls night out!
Great food. Great service.
The spicy Margarita was a favorite of more than one person. $25-$30 per person with drinks and tapas was our group average.
Tapas (small plate) food is always awesome. I would say food is NOT authentic Mexican, but Creative Mexican, very tasty. Some items are spice, but Everything is flavorful, I have had probably half the items on the menu, over maybe 6 visits. One of my favorite places!
MUST try the pork sopes!
The waitress was excellent and apologized for errors with the cocktails. The hostess that seated us wasn't friendly and told us we couldn't have a table with low chairs because we didn't have a reservation. I told her we did have a reservation which the group of 4 that cut in front of us at the door did not--and got what she told me was the last table with low chairs even though the restaurant was ~30% empty. Then we had to wait for her to text the late reservation befor letting us have the table next to the bathrooms. I'm sure you are pressured to keep the same menu, but an occasional special in the evening would be appreciated. Thank you for listening.
Took 15 minutes for server to get to our table. Spoke with the GM about the service and didn't seem at all empathetic with our experience. When you have date night with the wife, drinks should come right away!
Barrio is my favorite go-to spot for a girls' night out. Never disappointed!!
We have loved going to Barrio in the past. This visit was very disappointing. First, we had a reservation, but when we arrived the host first asked us how long we intended to stay because she had another reservation. This seemed very rude - I've never been asked that at a restaurant before. Second, we ordered an appetizer which never arrived. When we mentioned it, our server said 'oh, did you still want that?' No apology, no trying to make it right. Overall, we were not impressed.
