Food was delicious and our server El was great.
We had a reasonable dinner at Barrett’s, but it was not exceptional. We would have expected it to be a bit better given the price. Surprised it had the #1 ranking for the Hunt Valley area.
Food was great as usual. Our Server Marcus was awesome!!
My wife and I started with drinks and the calamari appetizer the bar. The calamari is fantastic and the draft beer is ice cold. After being seated we both had the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and the meal was fantastic. We highly recommend Barrett's.
Better than the typical higher-end restaurant at a shopping mall - they stand out for better choices prepared well, and with very good and proper service.
I am a regular at Barrett’s. It is my favorite place to go for lunch!!
Service was excellent, we weren't rushed, food was outstanding, seating was comfortable. Will definitely return.
Nice to go to a restaurant we could hear at and enjoy the food
We’ve been regular customers for many years but not sure we will be back. For starters, the servers were very nice and friendly; however never brought table water when we asked and never brought bread (other tables around us had it.) The “fresh” ahi tuna has always been hands down the best in town, but tonight it was obviously frozen and not fully thawed. It visibly didn’t look fresh. The short ribs were delicious but the roasted vegetables served on the side were frigid cold. It’s these little things that were so disappointing and made it not a great dining experience for our family. I hope by writing this that Barrett’s will get the food quality back to what it was.
I saw the picture on Open Table, said to myself, I like scallops, I like risotto...
Imagine my surprise when I was expecting a noisy mall joint. Except
I walked into a quiet cozy beautiful restaurant, with live jazz playing for the joy of music.
A very friendly waitress, welcomed me to a nice comfy seat, gave me some background on the ownership and their mission, and told me about 50% off wine bottle night.
I instead ordered a nice well poured Guinness stout, in the right glass.
I told her about my seeing the picture, see noted "a great choice".
The meal was perfect seared scallops, a few spinach leaves, over a creamy mushroom risotto, with a touch of finishing salt.
I had to put the fork down and listen to some music, the food was disappearing too quickly.
I also had the carrot cake, which was served warm with icing, YUM!
I will be back in Baltimore at the end of May, it is a definite return trip to Barrett's Grill,
going to save my appetite and add the Buffalo Calamari to my dinner
Very consistent meals every time we dine here, probably 3-4 times a year. Crab cakes are full of lump crab, steaks were flavorful and done exactly as ordered. My scallops risotto was beautifully seared, but a little too salty. The Barrett's house salad is lightly dressed with a slightly sweet taste, cashews and blue cheese make a great combination. My husband likes the Caesar salad. We enjoyed the 1/2 price wine and jazz on Thursday and had an attentive, welcoming waiter. We'll be back again soon!
Warm, friendly, knowledgeable staff who were attentive without "hovering".
We had a great lunch. It was my first trip there and I drove an hour from Lancaster, PA to reconnect with a friend and former business colleague I had not seen in a few years.
The only difficult thing was finding you in the back of the complex. One of the security guards in the "front section" sympathized with the dilemma and gave me great directions.
Fantastic food and service. Prices were great for the value of the food.
I thought that the price was a bit expensive for what I got, although the salmon was delicious and the asparagus was tender and flavorful. I thought the Crème Brule was a bit thick and I have had better at other places, but it was large enough for two and we did share. The service was excellent as we did not want for anything. So, I liked it a lot but again, I am not convinced that there was enough food to warrant the price that I paid. I did not walk away hungry but I also felt a bit unfulfilled.
My only complaint on this visit was the restaurant was virtually empty and they put all the guests close to one another instead of being spread out.
The food is great, but not for the price point. The menu lacked variety (especially for Easter) and our party found it to be overall bizarre.
The service was horrendous. While there were a few decent, accommodating and hospitable employees who were willing to intervene, our waitress was quite rude & unskilled for this industry. The management was agreeable, but not accommodating in any tangible sense. The staff at this location perform in a polarized manner, which is unfortunate. This is a shame, because Barrett’s has the potential to be a great restaurant destination!
Very disappointing experience overall and we would not return to this restaurant.
Good was innovative and delicious. Server was delightful. The young man at reception needs to iron his shirt! A tie does not help a badly wrinkled shirt .
Nice place. The food was very good. Would recommend. Will definitely will go back.
Tim was our server and he was very pleasant and a great host.
My dinner at Barrett's Grill on St. Patrick's Day was fabulous. They had a set menu with options for a great price. The quality of the food and service were wonderful. Look forward to next date night at Barrett's.
great good, great prices, St. Patty day specials were great.
Always great food and service
Went before seeing Celtic Woman on St. Patrick's Day. They had a special three-course meal for $28. They had three choices of appetizers. We all got different ones and shared, all good and different. Three choices of entrees, corn beef and cabbage, Strip steak and another entree. Dessert was cheesecake, bread pudding, something else. We were happily stuffed!
Great brunch and service as always!
From the opening greeting as we entered to the good byes and thank you for coming- it was a wonderful dinning experience. We will definitely be back.
Live Jazz entertainment really made this meal special. Loved the carrot cake dessert.
Outstanding meal and service! We visited on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 and we had a wonderful meal. The special fish was rockfish over wild rice, topped with crab meat. So yummy!! My husband and the white bean turkey soup, I had the crab and corn soup - both delicious! We both took advantage of the add-on salad, choosing the Barrett’s salad. Finally, I had the flourless chocolate cake, my husband had the carrot cake. While the food was delicious, what made the evening truly wonderful was our server, Bruce. He was attentive and extremely polite, and very accommodating to our every wish. What a gem he is! The hostess was kind and welcoming, even granting our wish to choose a different table. The runners who brought out our meals were efficient, everything was delivered piping hot. We are excited to return soon!
Been there several times. Always had excellent food.
The food is consistently high quality with reasonably sized portions at a good price. The menu offerings are not overly gourmet but prepared and seasoned just right. My husband and I drop in often for a meal and are never disappointed!
Awesome prime rib! Fantastic crust in it. It was pricey, but worth it.
The service was rushed; plates were cleared literally while the final bite was in the diner's mouth, for three of our group of six. The Caesar salad is no such thing. Frisee with bleu cheese and what appeared to be peanuts from a Cracker Jack box is not a Caesar salad. However, our water glasses stayed filled, all the main courses were excellent, and we will definitely go back to this non-chain restaurant.
Good Food, delivered by an excellent wait staff in a courteous manner. Servers were very attentive to our needs during the entire dining experience.
First time at Barrett's in a really long time; don't know why. Food and service were excellent. We'll definitely be back soon.
We dine a Barrett’s several times a year. It is a great neighbor gem. The outdoor seating is nice weather permitting. Wait staff is always friendly and courteous. Two of our favorites are the shrimp cargot and cream of crab and corn soup.
The food and service was outstanding. Everyone in my group loved everything about the experience and would definitely come again.
Great service, good food, a bit pricey.
The food was delicious! Our servant Kate was great!
Always enjoy Barrett's. My only complaint this visit is that the table we were seated at was better suited for 2 then 4.
Great food, great service, great location--who could ask for more?! I had the very delicious turkey bacon club with string fries, followed by the warm flourless chocolate cake. Definite YUM factor of 100! And, by the way, the menu items are reasonably priced. I'll keep going back.
Food was excellent, prices were on par with what you would expect considering the menu, everything fresh and home made. Bruce was our server; he was outstanding. We will be going back.
