Overall, food was extremely good (especially the tater tots!) but service was horrendous. Our reservation was for 6.30 pm, and the first guest to arrive had to wait @ five minutes before they could even find it in their system. Then, once everyone was seated, it took forever to order, and then even longer for our food to arrive. Our food did not get set on our table until after 8.30 pm, and we had ordered one hour prior. And this was on a Monday night, when the place is the least busy during the week! Someone in our party asked for a Pepsi with his dinner, but the server forgot all about it, and then only remembered when the meal was done. He never stopped by to check on how we were doing. This was my first time dining here and was hoping for a good experience so that I could go back with family and friends, but that won't be happening. Don't think my kids (or anyone) could wait up to one hour to order our food and then another hour for the food to arrive.
Nice Father’s Day dinner with my two teenage daughters.
The atmosphere was beautiful, very natural looking and picturesque. The food was delicious and very filling! However, the service was less than average. After about 10 minutes of sitting at our table and having already decided our order, we waited an additional 3-5 minutes for a waiter to come to our table and greet us. Ernesto (I believe was his name), the waiter who came to our table after noticing our impatient looks towards the wait staff, was able to place our orders and made sure he got us what we wanted.
Our actual server, Justin, came to our table and only served us until we had gotten our food and were already in the process of paying. Of course, we provided tip but much of our tip was provided in hopes that some of that was seen by Ernesto.
Father’s Day breakfast. Lovely experience. Waiter was friendly and food was tasty! The blueberry pancakes were divine.
Great place but the waiter could not have cared less about his tables or timelines.
Good food, nice ambience, poor service.
My sister and I have visited Barrel and Bushel several times and each time we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food, atmosphere and service have been excellent. I would recommend and have recommended this venue to family and friends.
There was a band at Tyson’s and the windows were open, making it so I could not even talk to my wife.
There was an outdoor concert going on. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks. My wife’s drink had no alcohol In it. I asked to see the manager but no one came by. I think they should have. They did correct my wife’s drink pronto.
Once the outdoor event ended everything else was good. I probably won’t go to restaurant if there are outdoor events going on. Table customers should take priority.
Table was ready early (++).
Sat me without the rest of my party having arrived yet (++)
Shooed people already occupying our table away while I was standing there instead of doing that before walking me to an occupied/dirty table (- - -)
Happy hour drinks & snacks (++)
Friday concert series (++)
Wait staff, host staff great attitudes and attentive (++)
Great experience last night! Met friends to watch the LegWarmers concert. A couple of us arrived early for our reservation but we were told it would be a wait to be seated. It was 5:00 and the dining room was empty. (Front Desk needs a little work.)
Food was great especially the crab on toast. Our Server, Kairen, was very skilled at managing a growing table on a concert night.
Normally not a noisy restaurant but because of the concert noisier than usual. Still, a great place on a Friday night!
Food is very overpriced and lacks any sort of quality. We ordered a small salad with crispy chicken and I kid you not, it was 6 pieces of lettuce. Six. The cost? $15.00.
Will not eat here again.
The buffalo fried chicken with french toast was a great idea. The buffalo maple syrup was well balanced with sweetness and spiciness. It not overly spicy. The french toast was fine. However, the fried chicken was not good because of the chicken. There were too much fat under the skin which takes away from the tasty fried batter. Overall, the dish was a great idea but the ingredient ruined the execution. You should procure better chicken for the dish.
Had the steak and eggs and my fiance had the fried chicken Benedict. My steak was so tough and chewy I sent it back and just had the eggs along with some of my fiance's food which was delicious.
Great service. Fun food choiced
We sat outside had happy hour and food. The bartender took 30 minutes to get to me which was upsetting and caused me not to order more then a drink and tater tots.
Great place for a weekday night out!
The food we had was really tasty and unique menu options. My biggest complaint was the bad service at the bar. Maybe it’s different when you’re actually seated In the main dining area.
Descent food descent prices
Service and food were excellent. Evelyn deserves a medal for putting up with my obnoxious brother in law. The the entire staff could not have been better.
Service was very friendly. Food was great!
Fun place with lots of outdoor seating and great beer selections.
Felt the food prices are a little high.
My husband and I dined here on a Tuesday night. The restaurant is more of a bar type scene with large tables that are shared when you get seated. Although it is super casual and most of their food is more like bar food, everything was very delicious. We ordered the deviled eggs, tater tots, as well as the salmon slider and lastly the chicken sliders. Everything was very flavorful. Wish they had the halibut sliders that they offered last year.
It was our first visit on a Saturday night with friends. We all enjoyed very much the location and the ambiance. The waiter was nice and friendly and professional. The doggy bag was delivered in a nice design bag. Everything was nice, but the food was disappointing!
We had the smoked cheese crab soup was excellent but turned out to be heavy on the stomach, the fish tacos were too spicy and also the smoked caponata , the little piggy sliders were not very tasty and greasy. I'll give a 2 1/2 stars out of 5.
Wonderful relaxing Mother's Day dinner here. All four of us enjoyed our meals. Although they were out of a couple of things we ordered (Bavarian pretzel and peach cheesecake) we enjoyed the substitutes. Great service - delicious food. Will definitely go back.
Mother’s Day and it was ok - Luke warm coffee and good avocado toast but gluten free was not toasted well
Great brunch for Mother's Day. Good selection of entrees and buffet. Enjoyable time. Great service. Recommend reservations unless you want to eat at the bar.
The service was truly terrible. I had to ask the waiter to go check out food after a really long wait. He came right back with food, some of it a little cool. I think he forgot the food. Didn’t refill drinks. Left dirty dishes stacked on the table. Really awful. And on mother’s day. The food was just okay.
Food was good, particularly the chicken sliders, generous alcohol in the cocktails, but service was slow (albeit a busy Saturday night). They asked us to move tables but paid for our drinks, so that was nice. They did seem a bit nonchalant about my reservation. They said they would “see what they could do for me” when I asked when we would be seated. They also asked me if I had just now made the reservation (I had made it 24 hours beforehand). Does it matter? Did I have a “soft reservation?”
Although we thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and the food, it was VERY noisy.
So noisy it was very difficult to hear anyone at our table or even carry on a conversation. I do not feel “energetic” is the appropriate definition of the noise level. It is just high and can be very annoying.
What an amazing experience - the food was great and the meatless meatballs were a great surprise. The best part was the service, our waiter Wes was one of the best I've ever had and I watoed tables in college. Overall super as for Wes's section and enjoy great food and better service.
The hostess was snooty/rude, the server took forever to bring the check (while walking back and fourth between the two tables next to us refilling water glasses) and the food was mediocre. Would only go again if for some unfortunate reason it's the only place in Tysons serving food.
Food was super! We did a few of the small plates. Definitely get a lot of food for a moderate price
I’ve been here about 5 times. I really want to like this place. They have outdoor seating and a nice location overlooking the plaza where there are concerts, ice skating rink, playground etc. The service here is good but the food is consistently bad. Like bad where you stop eating your meal because it’s just not appetizing. Great spot to grab a drink outside or do a happy hour but just skip eating here.
This place is great, have been here several time for different occasions. Never disappoints.
Appetizers to share are all outstanding. It’s quite noisy - great for a bunch of friends to get together, but this is more of a bar with food, than a restaurant with a bar.
Food took a while to be served. Overall it was a good experience.
Nice ambiance and great food and drink selection.
Party of 5 for Sunday brunch, everyone enjoyed their food. Price was great for the portion. Server was very friendly. Overall great experience, would recommend and would definitely return.
