Came here for my birthday dinner on my birthday . Waited 20 minutes for a menu and a waitress. Was told that i had to order from the bar on one side of the patio and the other had a server. So we sat where the server was going to serve. Server helped us. After we were served food we were fine. Just didnt like that i had to wait so long to even get a menu. No one seemed to know what was going on or who was working.
I love Barrel and Bushel food, but recently the service has been terrible which was a true shame. I went on Friday night with a group of 6 ladies. We couldn't get our server attention to order a second round of drink. The waiter was rude and dismissive. At the end of the day, we left as soon as we finished out meal, and went else where to finish the night. I really love the food and atmosphere, but poor service hurt my friends opinion and lost the restaurant over $100 that night... I'll still think the restaurant has amazing food!
Great food and vibe - especially summer nights outside!
Sons 1st birthday family dinner!
Food, service and ambiance were all commendable. Nice outdoor patio, inside is bright and airy. A good meeting place as it is both near the mall parking garage and the metro stop. Inside the Hyatt.
good for the pub food, burgers/sandwiches etc. i had the scallops and while good the pistachios added didn't do anything to enhance the dish, they were just sort of there. the side dish of carrots could also have used a little more stewing/roasting time to make them more soft. so go with the american stand-bys but maybe try the "fancy" dishes at a different restaurant.
Food was good but overpriced. Restaurant was fairly empty and still incredibly loud.
We get together every now and then. This was a really good experience. Andres was a great waitress
Love the all day breakfast menu plus the large variety of whiskeys! Great service, the patio seating is great for people watching!
Went there after a movie Sunday evening, the restaurant was almost empty no more than 30 folks eating at this time. It took over 30 minutes to receive our cocktail orders. Our server was more interested in his phone than his customers. This was a very poor showing for B&B.
Great service. Great apps. Entrees were okay (tomato sandwich and grilled romaine). Perfect seating options. But keep in mind they’ll seat you at communal tables with a reservation.
Food was great and love the ice cream sandwich!
This is the third time that I have been SHOCKED at the slow service here. With so many people obviously in for business lunches, one would think that they would have perfected the one-hour business lunch by now. For at 12 noon reservation, we did not get our food until about 12:40, and we had two pieces of fish and a salad. Very disappointing. Our waiter also didn't check in on us, did not refill water, and generally did not seem to care that we were there. If the food weren't so good, I wouldn't come back.
The restaurant was empty but waiter was very inattentive and w had to follow up multiple times for coffee refill and food took more than 30 mins after we ordered
Food is good but they need more servers. Our server was very nice, very accommodating, but he was spread too thin and had too many tables. It took a long time for our food to arrive and then for the bill to arrive and then for the payment to be processed even though it was Sunday lunch. When we arrived (we had reservations) there were at least five tables of four that hadn't been cleared yet. We were a party of 3 but since none of the available tables for four had been cleared, we were placed in a large booth which was nice. The pork belly sliders were sold out, but the pork belly appetizer wasn't. It was very good, but the pieces were tiny. It needed more substantial pieces than inch wide pieces on toothpicks. Luckily we shared this. One person in our party had very specific requests on her order and to his credit, the waiter was incredibly accommodating. He also gave us free drinks (perhaps because service was slow) and since it was a birthday he brought ice cream with birthday candles in them and Happy Birthday spelled out in chocolate sauce on the plate. Very nice! I would go back because the food is good and service is friendly and cheerful, but don't go if you're in a rush and have a movie to catch. Luckily we had allowed 2 hours for brunch and had bought our tickets in advance so that wasn't a problem.
Thank you to Abdul, Kim and all the other bar staff that made our anniversary so special! You all treated us so special and really welcomed us! We love It and will be back again soon!!
We were meeting up with family at Tysons Corner and took the suggestion of a friend to try Barrel and Bushel. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality food, exceptional service, and all around good feel to our experience. Barrel & Bushel is definitely much nicer than a typical brew pub and was very welcoming even to our grandchildren. The grandchildren and their dad also enjoyed the large chess game and Jenga available outdoors. We would definitely go again.
I love this place. I selected a new main dish which I didn't like that much but the appetizers and soup were great. We also had amazing service.
This is one of our go-to spots for dinner out but our experience last weekend was terrible. We waited almost 15 minutes upon being seated for anyone to come over. We had two tables next to us that were being attended to but it was like we were an after thought - the restaurant was not that crowded and we were eating during an off peak time. It was not until my fiance went and grabbed a manager did a waiter come over to ask to take our order. The rest of the experience was sub par at best, with the exception of the food. One would expect some sort of apology or compensation for the lack of service and less than desirable experience but we received nothing. Extremely disappointing.
Great food, not the place to go if you want to talk to the people you are with, way too loud even in dining room. They really need to wall off, or at least install some soundproofing in the dining area from the bar, like others in the area have done for years. Sort of restaurant 101 really.
I have stopped at Barrel & Bushel for drinks before but decided to try dinner this time. The bar staff is very attentive and helpful. The Happy Hour is worth stopping for but it can get crowded at times. I was conflicted for my overall score of the dinner experience. The food was outstanding but unfortunately service was a little slow and the tables are set up for large groups and not privacy. If you are looking for a tasty meal but can work past the so-so service, I would recommend stopping here!
This place seemed promising, but after rushing my fiancé to the ER for an allergic reaction due to a huge undisclosed allergen in the burgers, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
Ate on a Sunday during Happy Hour and service was excellent. Had small plates, deviled eggs, pork belly, poutine, BLT sliders(best). Enjoyed everything except poutine. Drinks were strong and reasonably priced.
This place was not quite what I expected- it was a really unique feel. The seating was a bit odd, communal tables, but the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the deviled eggs and the fried chicken sliders. The chick pea salad was good, but not quite what I was expecting. Overall, the service was helpful and the food tasted very fresh.
Loud even though we ate indoors, due to summer concert series which was a fantastic bonus. Overall fun energetic vibe!
Great place to meet up with friends because they have huge tables. The food was interesting, varied and very tasty.
We ended up eating at a table on the patio so I cannot vouch for service inside the restaurant. We had to get our own drinks from the bar and food was delivered afterwards. The food tasted good. Bartenders were inconsistent in charges for our drinks - some charged sales tax while others did not. We were there during Happy Hour time so the specials were a good deal.
The food was so good and unique. So much better than your average brew pub. It was a warm evening so the large sliding doors were wide open. There was a concert on the plaza. It really was such a fun and different kind of evening.
Overall, food was extremely good (especially the tater tots!) but service was horrendous. Our reservation was for 6.30 pm, and the first guest to arrive had to wait @ five minutes before they could even find it in their system. Then, once everyone was seated, it took forever to order, and then even longer for our food to arrive. Our food did not get set on our table until after 8.30 pm, and we had ordered one hour prior. And this was on a Monday night, when the place is the least busy during the week! Someone in our party asked for a Pepsi with his dinner, but the server forgot all about it, and then only remembered when the meal was done. He never stopped by to check on how we were doing. This was my first time dining here and was hoping for a good experience so that I could go back with family and friends, but that won't be happening. Don't think my kids (or anyone) could wait up to one hour to order our food and then another hour for the food to arrive.
Nice Father’s Day dinner with my two teenage daughters.
The atmosphere was beautiful, very natural looking and picturesque. The food was delicious and very filling! However, the service was less than average. After about 10 minutes of sitting at our table and having already decided our order, we waited an additional 3-5 minutes for a waiter to come to our table and greet us. Ernesto (I believe was his name), the waiter who came to our table after noticing our impatient looks towards the wait staff, was able to place our orders and made sure he got us what we wanted.
Our actual server, Justin, came to our table and only served us until we had gotten our food and were already in the process of paying. Of course, we provided tip but much of our tip was provided in hopes that some of that was seen by Ernesto.
Father’s Day breakfast. Lovely experience. Waiter was friendly and food was tasty! The blueberry pancakes were divine.
Great place but the waiter could not have cared less about his tables or timelines.
Good food, nice ambience, poor service.
My sister and I have visited Barrel and Bushel several times and each time we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food, atmosphere and service have been excellent. I would recommend and have recommended this venue to family and friends.
There was a band at Tyson’s and the windows were open, making it so I could not even talk to my wife.
There was an outdoor concert going on. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks. My wife’s drink had no alcohol In it. I asked to see the manager but no one came by. I think they should have. They did correct my wife’s drink pronto.
Once the outdoor event ended everything else was good. I probably won’t go to restaurant if there are outdoor events going on. Table customers should take priority.
Table was ready early (++).
Sat me without the rest of my party having arrived yet (++)
Shooed people already occupying our table away while I was standing there instead of doing that before walking me to an occupied/dirty table (- - -)
Happy hour drinks & snacks (++)
Friday concert series (++)
Wait staff, host staff great attitudes and attentive (++)
Great experience last night! Met friends to watch the LegWarmers concert. A couple of us arrived early for our reservation but we were told it would be a wait to be seated. It was 5:00 and the dining room was empty. (Front Desk needs a little work.)
Food was great especially the crab on toast. Our Server, Kairen, was very skilled at managing a growing table on a concert night.
Normally not a noisy restaurant but because of the concert noisier than usual. Still, a great place on a Friday night!
Food is very overpriced and lacks any sort of quality. We ordered a small salad with crispy chicken and I kid you not, it was 6 pieces of lettuce. Six. The cost? $15.00.
Will not eat here again.
