Barolo Grill Ratings and Reviews
One of my favorite places for special occasions. This time was our daughters birthday. Last minute change from 4 to 5 people was graciously handled. Always love the atmosphere of this restaurant. No real "bad seats." Standouts from the evening include the veal starter, the risotto primo and the pork secondi. Definitely recommend for excellent service and fabulous food.
I took 5 foodies from NYC on a busy Friday night; we all left very happy! The wine list is extensive and impressive and the flavor combinations are authentic yet original. No "dusty" or trite Italian dishes. Service was attentive and efficient and I felt as though they really wanted us to have a great time on all levels.
I haven't dined at Barolo for many years. I was disappointed with the food for the price. My sea bass with grilled fennel was boring and minimal in presentation and flavor. My guests plates were also over priced and disappointing. I'm not sure what the draw is, as it was busy there. Hmm.
Your staff's knowledge of the menu and their service was the best that we have experienced in Denver. A broken wine glass (our fault) was immediately cleaned up and the glass replaced with speed and efficiency, and with smiles from the staff. We had a wonderful evening with you.
We went to Barolo Grill to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We were greeted warmly by the valet, hostess, manager and the wait staff . It was a busy Friday evening and we had a reservation -- we were led immediately to our table which does not always happen at busy restaurants. We choose to chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each course was fantastic. The server explained each dish and the why the specific wine was chosen for the course. The wine pourings were generous (again, this was a pleasant surprise). The pasta course was magnificent - stuffed cheese pasta with truffles. Again, the truffles were plentiful on the dish. We had braised pork shoulder for our main course. The meat was so tender and flavorful. Each course was just the right amount of food. We were stuffed by the end of the evening -- but not miserable. I agree with some of the other reviews here. This is by far the best restaurant we have visited in Denver. We can't wait to return.
None of the 5 dishes we tried were outstanding. All were good but none outstanding. Wine by the glass was in the $30/glass range, too expensive for comfort so we settled for a good bottle of white which accompanied our dinner dishes well, for about $55. Good place to visit once and have a good evening but if looking for value, go elsewhere.
Barolo is right up the street from our house, we love it. The food and wine list are world class. I believe the entire royal family could eat there and come out saying it is quite possibly the best meal they have had! The food is exquisite, the servers do not miss a beat. Barolo is truly a gem in our community and we are so happy to have the privelage of dining there. Thank You so much Barolo!
We both had the Bream. Fish portions seemed small, liked the cauliflower. The Bream tasted more like trout. The lobster salad was too bitter with the lettuce. Pasta seemed fishy. Disappointed, food did not meet expectations. I have eaten here before and had very nice meals. This was just not one of them. Very nice atmosphere. Wait staff was very attentive.
The cheese soufflé appetizer is outstanding. The autumn salad was also a hit. A couple of us had the gnocchi and loved it. The butternut squash agnolotti was soooo good! And the mushroom cavatelli was my favorite. Most of us just got two half plates of pasta, but one of us ordered the pork entree and it was equally yummy. There were 5 of us and we all loved it! Service was attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Barolo Grill!
