Overall, quite good. However, I found it a little off-putting that we were charged to split a salad when our bill exceeded $500. Why nickel-and-dime your customers?

Shared pasta and wine. Great beef and lamb tonight. Absolutely fantastic! Ask the sommelier for wine help as the wine list is overwhelmingly extensive.

Everything was superb, except the process of reservations confirmation. I received a "live" call on Jan.5 from the restaurant asking for confirmation. I told the woman that we were looking forward to the evening the next day. On arrival at Barolo on the 6th at 5:45 with a copy of the confirmation details which I had printed, we were greeted by a young woman who told us that I had not returned 2 calls that day, thus the reservation was cancelled. I live in Colorado Springs, some 65 miles from the restaurant, and I was told the calls that day went to my home down there. The woman denied that anyone had called me "live" the day before, and said she was the only one in the office at that time and she denied making any call to me. We were eventually seated at a nice table after a 20 minute wait, but the woman's sour attitude, which was so completely out of character for Barolo (with perhaps 7-8 previous visits), made our evening uncomfortable until our superb served arrived. As we left, this same woman was on the phone, taking a reservation or something else, and we were ignored. But the server and the meal were awesome, and we left pleased.

Food superb (couple of dishes a bit salty); Missy extraordinary server; pacing of dishes perfect; wine recommendation right on; portions perfect. Will return, even if a bit pricey

Generally, the service, the wine and the food were excellent. However, the Creme Brûlée had an overwhelming smoky flavor that took away from the loveliness of the dish itself. When we mentioned this to our waitress, she was not at all interested in the feedback.

We have been patrons of this restaurants for some years. The food is reliably excellent and the service is friendly and professional. Of special note is the availability of half portions.
