The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Our waiter was quite aggressive, loud and seemed to be in a big hurry. He interrupted our conversation frequently and rushed our various courses to the table before we were ready. I've not experienced such service in a fine restaurant before.
Excellent service in a very attractive setting. Food was well presented and delicious. Highly reccomend this restaurant
Entrees were excellent but choice was limited and most dishes were too elaborate for my liking. Really, traditional Italian should include some standards like a normal Caesar salad, calamari, cioppino, linguini and clams, etc. When I can’t order a Caesar and spaghetti and meatballs, and I’m paying $150, I’m disappointed. I’m a regular but not so much anymore until the menu changes.
Not our best experience at Barolo. We went for our anniversary dinner. Got seated in the outside room which is not nearly as nice as the main room with the fireplace. We were seated by the front window so it was cold and drafty, my wife never took off her down coat. Our waiter was very good, but seemed to be very stressed out and under a lot of pressure, as all the staff seemed to be. He helped us choose a wine. Someone else came to pour the wine- said they were out of the one our waiter recommended, he brought another one which was more expensive and our waiter had told us wasn't as good. It was average at best. Later, when our waiter came back to pick up our salad plates, he knocked over my wife's full glass of wine on the floor and it shattered by our table. Again, it felt like he was very stressed and hurried. We had several other wait staff deliver different dishes, it felt a bit chaotic.
Our waiter was very apologetic about the breaking the wine glass, and took $20 off the price of the bottle, which was very fair.
The food was nice, the kitchen at Barolo is consistent and very good. For these kind of prices, however, I would want a much more comfortable experience, with a calmer feeling and a warmer atmosphere.
Might come back for happy hour sometime and have snacks at the bar, which is in the nice room. But I don't think I would blow a large wad for dinner again, even for a special occasion. There are other places in Denver that have good Italian for less money and much more comfortable feeling.
Great for BD or Anniversary
The staff was AMAZING!! KATIE was BEYOND beautifully WONDERFUL!
This was our first time to Barolo and it certainly won't be our last. It is now our #1 favorite restaurant in all on Denver and one of our top favorites in the USA. The service was impeccable. The food was incredible. The wines were magnificent. The ambiance was lovely.
I’m so glad we have this place in Denver.
save your pennies for this place! it's great for a special occasion but very pricey, no way around that.
As always, great food, excellent service and knowledgeable, friendly staff. A bit noisier than usual at times, but not a problem. Wine list is almost encyclopedic.
Fantastic Date Night Out - superior food and wine. :)
Great service and food!
Wonderful as always. Excellent risotto and espresso veal. The veal, caper and modern tuna sauce appetizer was also a very well balanced flavor profile.
A wonderful dining experience. Innovative menu helpful wait service. Overall a perfect dining experience
Highly recommend Barolo Grill. Great service, great ambiance, great food, fantastic wine list
Had the tasting menu. Everything was wonderful. Serving size was perfect to enjoy the many offerings and not be over full by the end.
Cavatelli with foraged mushrooms was amazing. Well paired wines. Barolo has long been a favorite and is better than ever.
Overall a great experience due to the outstanding customer service. It started with the valet parking and then our coat check, and this continued with meal and waiting staff. Our waitress was Missy and she was fabulous. Missy was extremely knowledgeable on the food and wine options. We can’t wait to go back.
Italian cousine is a different world maybe they should go to Italy and try what we eat and how we cook
I m Italian
It was outstanding. One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
I’ve been to Barolo on numerous occasions and they have continued to deliver exceptional food and service every time. I would say this is my “go to” place for a great dinner evening with family and friends.
The food and service was excellent as usual. This is our favorite restaurant for special occasions.
Amazing service, great tasting menu and as usual great wine.
Went for a romantic NYE dinner and was very impressed! Service was excellent and the food was unbelievable. Wonderful restaurant and people, would definitely go again for a special occasion.
The chef and staff doing an excellent job presenting some very nice and unique Italian food. I'm Italian and like most Italians, you think you can prepare the best Italian meals. I can't compete with their talents they're on another level and I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends. It's a great place to experience an enjoyable, tasty meal with a friendly staff. I know we'll be going back it's worth the drive.
Our visit was excellent, from our arrival to being seated and served. The quieter room on the east side of the dining area is a favorite of ours. Rarely go somewhere that merits five stars--Barolo does.
Great service and food. Good for special occasion. Cocktails well made and attentive bartender.
The food...what there was of it...was excellent. However, the portions were very small. Little did I know that when the menu indicated "caramelized Brussels sprout," it meant exactly that. Singular. One. Brussels. sprout. The dish was artfully arranged, but frankly, I'd much rather have a side of Brussels sprouts and a side of roasted potatoes rather than use them simply as decoration. I left hungry.
All the food was wonderfully made and presented. The risotto con aragosta was simply amazing. The service was wonderful and our server went above and beyond to make sure that our first time to Barolo was impressive. He made suggestions not only on food and wine but how both my date and I could order so we could each get to taste everything we wanted. This restaurant will be one I return to make an occasion special.
Great food but unlike anytime in the past, terrible and awful service. Almost 30 minutes before we were served water. Combine a bad attitude with slow service and it makes for a bad dinner even though the food was great
Great as always
Wonderful, as always!!
Food always fantastic- service is usually outstanding but this particular night it was more perfunctory and less solicitous which is unusual for this great restaurant that I have been to many times.
We had a nice meal at Barolo Grill. Especially good were the salad of mixed greens and grapefruit, the foie gras appetizer, and the amazing desserts we shared.
A couple down sides...the amberjack with the smokey oil was more smokey oil than amberjack. The flavor of the spinach pasta was dark and monochromatic. My veal was tough and the presentation was unimaginative.
To be fair, my guest loved his snapper.
And to be more fair, the foie gras appetizer was by itself worth the trip. The presentation was lovely, and the citrus elements were perfect.
All this said, I recommend Barolo. It has a rarely found energy, just the right enthusiasm of fellow diners, but still quiet enough for an intimate conversation. It was a most enjoyable meal.
We each had two glasses of wine and a glass of port and the bill was $277 plus tip.
I prefer simpler Italian food, not so many ingredients, less butter.
Always festive during the holidays, service is always outstanding food much better than most a great place always
We returned to Barolo Grill after a few year hiatus and were just as wowed as before. Nothing is taken for granted. It was a superb experience from start to finish. A sophisticated and upscale restaurant.
Make Scott a VP-give him a car and. Year end bonus!
The big cheese owner also very attentive and very wine knowledgeable.
Great food, great service, great holiday ambiance. Lovely time.
Barolo Grill never disappoints. Had birthday celebration with family and staff was awesome as was every entree, and the wine recommendation. Still one of our favorites in Denver.
