Always a great experience dining at Barola..delicious, creative dishes with exceptionally fresh and innovative ingredients!! Highly recommend Barola for the special dining experience in Denver!!!
Upon arriving we were shown to our table in the side room. It was stuck on a small wall, one of the chairs backing on the hall to the rest rooms, the other chair backed right into a service station which required the servers to say excuse me every time they had to get to it for silver, plates, glasses etc. Needless to say we asked to be moved. Initially we were told that “the servers try to be as quiet as they can”. We were ultimately moved but there should have been no question about it at all and there should not be a table in that spot at all! Our servers were wonderful, it’s just too bad the food was just fair. My husband started with the caprese salad which was served with a mound of “olive oil powder”, basically tasteless and why? My special ravioli with ricotta and duck egg and summer truffles should have been magnificent but the edges of the ravioli were tough and the truffles had absolutely no taste. Having eaten at Barolo since it opened I’m sorry to say we are not rushing back.
Our favorite restaurant in the city continues to shine in every aspect! Went for our anniversary and we were treated like royalty! The food, the service, cocktails and win, all out of this world. Always a perfect meal at Barolo Grill!
For a restaurant with such a high rating and reputation the food that was served was very disappointing. The duck was tough and over cooked. It was also so over-seasoned with rosemary that everything on the plate tasted the same including the vegetables. I was unable to eat it. My wife ordered beef tenderloin medium rare but was served very rare. She took most of it home so that it could be cooked to level of doneness that she would eat. All of this would not have been so bad if there had been any attempt to correct the situation but as the evening progressed you staff became too busy to pay much attention to us. Your restaurant is not suited for older people and I will not recommend it to any of my friends.
Best of Denver bar none. Our go to place for a wonderful evening. Great food and an informed staff!
The food and service was outstanding. Super fast, super friendly and amazing quality of food. Server knew every detail about the foods and was fast and excellent at making sure we were good the entire night. Definitely will be returning to this fine establishment.
Best restaurant in Denver! Owners treat their staff well and the level of knowledge of food and wine is unsurpassed. We book a reservation every time we come to town.
Always delicious Italian food & everyone always makes us feel at home. We love going to Barolos! :-)
Friends from east and west getting together
All aspects of the dining experience was outstanding. Every dish was better than the one before. Barolo is above all the other top restaurants. You will not be disappointed.
The food is exceptional. The people are stars. Thx, BG!
Gnocchi would be better in a creamy sauce instead of tomato-based. Duck would be better in a neutral or slightly sweet sauce. Other than that, everything superb.
Service, food, and ambience was exceptional. Great wine list and cocktails. Our new favorite restaurant!
Delicious food and good service. The only negative was the loud background sound level.
Great dinner at one of Denver’s best restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Seating on time
Food was delightful
Great service! It was a noisy on friday evening. Food was ok, i did excpect something more yammy.
Went for our wedding anniversary. Very enjoyable. We will be back.
Excellent dining experience with attentive staff and creative food presentation and taste
Service delivery slow. Too long between entree & desert.
Great seat if you wanted to watch everyone go to bathroom or see every service employee.
For $500 for 2 people, we expected a WOW factor.
We did the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing. It was amazing and the servers were very knowledgeable. It was a fun evening
We had a wonderful experience here and Missy was our server. Each staff member has been to Italy with the owner to learn about Italian wine and food and that experience came out into the service during our stay.
Great wine list. Good service. Poor execution on food. Food over fried, pasta over cooked, and expect better quality for the price
Wonderful experience in Italian fine dining
always our favorite restaurant when we are in Denver. Waitstaff were terrific and, as always, Erin was great in her recommendations and attentiveness.
Wonderful service with a waiter knowledgeable about food and wine (and Italy).
Food was beautifully prepared and presented.
Fantastic inventive food. This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. Flawless and friendly service, not obsequious.
If you are planning to spend a few extra dollars for dinner in Denver, Barolo Grill should be at the top of your list. Consistently wonderful food, prepared and presented flawlessly, with service to match. Yet, somehow, there is nothing pretentious about the people or the surroundings. Everyone is relaxed and friendly. The servers know their food and their wines and are ready to guide you to your perfect dinner. We shared prosciutto with melon, and stuffed tempura zucchini blossoms for starters, followed by duck, veal and rabbit treats and assorted pastas. All coupled with two well-chosen nebbiolo wines. Again, everything was relaxed and pleasant. Even with desserts, the tab was less than if we had eaten in a typical high-end steakhouse.
We recently moved in to the Cherry Creek neighborhood from Greensboro, NC. We really
enjoy the food, service ambiance. Very good wine selections and attentive service. 5 star rating. We have visited twice in our first month here. We will definitely continue to dine there.
The bonus for us is we can walk to the restaurant!
Wish there were more places like this. My biggest regret about moving away from Denver is not being able to go to Barolo
Grill on a regular basis.
As we have dined here previously we had high expectations which were unfortunately not met. It was a new menu and the staff recommended the crudo de ricciola amberjack appetizer. It was lacking in flavor. The Fritto misto was ordinary and I expected more given the creative energies and talent of this kitchen.
Both Breadsticks and rosemary crusted bread delicious. The accompanying dip with beets was thin, almost watery and not very exciting. We both had half orders of pasta. Note: Really like how accommodating they are on half and even quarters orders of pasta dishes. The agnolotti was very salty and my risotto was also quite salty making both dishes dissatisfying.
We both ordered fish dishes and found them to be less than enjoyable. The creme brûlée was quite tasty although the presentation was on a shallow plate that gave almost equal parts of custard and brûlée. I prefer more custard and felt it was a very small portion.
The server and management were quite attentive and made sure they noted and acted on our dissatisfaction. A dish was replaced immediately upon discussion. We appreciate the attentive service. We can see that they have a passion for customer satisfaction.
The creative cocktails were excellent and the additional upscale wines by the glass menu is superb and rare.
This was our favorite meal on our recent trip to Denver. We were visiting our son, who is temporarily in Denver, and we wanted some nice dinners. BG was recommended and it was fabulous! Son and hubby shared an app of fried seafood and I had lobster salad. When I asked about portion sizes for the pastas, the waitress said that you could really order them in 3 sizes so that's what we did. Son ordered the medium gnocchi and 3 cheese ravioli which he raved about. We also ordered a medium rabbit pasta so that we could all taste it; very good. I had braised duck and husband had a veal dish which we also shared a bit with son. We were all very happy with our dinner. Beautiful place too and the service was great. Be forewarned if you are a wine drinker - the wines by the bottle are fairly pricey. The wine list is huge. But we ordered a couple of glasses plus a bottle because that's what we do. Son enjoyed a couple of ciders that he hadn't had before. We will be back in November when we come for an art exhibit!
Barolo Grill NEVER disappoints! The experience starts with the very friendly Valet who expertly parks your vehicle and has it waiting for you when you are ready to leave. The hostess station is next where you are warmly greeted and welcomed back. Our server Esther has the most OUTSTANDING, warm personality that we have found anywhere! Her knowledge of the menu, wine list, local and current events ALWAYS make our experience at Barolo extra special. Every dish that we ordered Saturday night - table of four all ordered different entrees - was a beautiful work of art, expertly delivered and explained by each team member. Not a single morsel was left on any plate as we all enjoyed the wonderful flavor combinations that seemed to be specially crafted for each one of us. Four different dessert choices capped off our meal.... again, each one a work of art and each one amazing in flavor.
Barolo Grill is our all time favorite Denver Restaurant - the food, the service, the atmosphere and most of all the consistency of getting it right - every single time!
The meal was outstanding, wonderful wine list, service was impeccable. The best!!
Best gourmet restaurant in Denver!!
Nicole our waitress was simply amazing. One of the best meals we have had all year.
Excellent as usual. New interesting menu
Great place to go for an upscale atmosphere, great food and wine! Very elegant place.
Always a treat. Their consistency is amazing. As our go to neighborhood restaurant, we cannot say enough about this special place.
