Really enjoyed dining at BarOak; ended up eating there twice actually. The staff is so nice and accommodating; had part of our party running late, and they were great about pushing out reservation a few minutes.
Big beer selection, custom cocktails - also enjoyed the food options. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Annapolis for a more upscale bar/restaurant.
Space in the restaurant was also great, didn't feel like we were on top of others while dining.
Our first visit was for Annapolis Restaurant week. Food was delicious, service was great. It was quiet on a Sunday night.
Very good restaurant for hotel. Consistent food quality and good choices overall. Dinner and Breakfast had very good options. The wait staff was very attentive at dinner, less so at breakfast.

The menu is somewhat limited but the food is always great. Fantastic brunch, great burgers and flat bread pizzas, and good mixed drinks.
We were looking for a place on Christmas Day. I waited too late to book our 1st choice, so was happy to find them open with reservations available. I was hoping for their regular menu, but they had a buffet. The food was good, service very good. This was our 1st visit - planning on going back for the regular menu to try their mussels and frites. They validate parking so that was a bonus.
Second year for the Thanksgiving dinner. If we're around next year, we will be back.

We would not visit again. We were served expensive, poorly prepared dishes and bland burgers. When we raised concerns with one of the dishes, we were offered a free round of drinks, but still paid for the (expensive) offending dish. Pricing is just too high for mediocre quality food, especially considering the number of other available options nearby.
The service was impeccable and would be my reason for a return visit. All servers passing the table, lent a hand in keeping the table cleared, as it was very small for 4 people with drinks & food. My soup had condensed down & was very salty and unable to eat but the manager was quick to come over to rectify the situation. They were out of the seasonal beer that one of us ordered. Again, service was great!

We've been to Baroak several times, and we're always rather underwhelmed. It's ok--just not great. We waited to be seated for a while--one server finally said "I'll get someone for you." A man who appeared to be the restaurant manager (or hotel manager?) seated us--he was very friendly and professional. The prices are high for what you get. Our server's timing was off. We waited for a long time for drinks--in fact, we received our appetizer (mussels) before our drinks. When our server brought the mussels, I think she realized that we still didn't have drinks, as she brought them shortly after. They seemed to have been sitting at the bar. She opened my husband's beer and poured it too quickly into the glass, causing foam to go everywhere, spilling down the side of the glass. He had to wait to drink it because of the excessive foam on top. We received our entrees when we were only halfway through the mussels (and we weren't eating slowly). There was barely room on the table for the plate of mussels, pot, side plates, water glasses, cocktails, and entree plates...and the entrees started getting cold as we rushed to finish the mussels. The mussels were good. The entrees were ok--nothing to write home about. Wine is marked up 300% from the prices at nearby stores.

Great spot for brunch! I've been there a few different times now for lazy Sunday brunch, and they have excellent food options and a relaxed atmosphere.
We went to Baroak to celebrate my husband's birthday. He is a craft beer guy and was looking forward to trying Baroak. Our first disappointment was the beer selection. They were our of every beer my husband chose! This was extremely upsetting. Bud Light was available which is hardly a craft brew. I politely mentioned my disappointment to our server and was immediately informed that it isn't her fault. They were between releases and had run out of a lot of beers. The second disappointment has to do with the menu. I had chosen three possible options for my meal that evening from menus illustrated on the website. I was upset to find the menu was less than half what was shown online! I was able to order the third choice but found the menu limiting for everyone in our party. A manager did come by and was concerned about our experience. She offered another selection at no charge and comped the two beers my husbanded previously ordered. Although the manager came by to address the issues, which was appreciated, it was not enough to salvage the evening.
Poor service - the restaurant was nearly empty and there were at least 4 waiters, but no one was ever around when we needed a mimosa refill or needed to ask for the check. The brunch menu on the website was not what was available in the restaurant. They had a brunch buffet (not mentioned on the website) that was little more than a continental breakfast at a standard hotel. The buffet included boxed cereal. Not what I expected and not what the website advertises.
Loved the mussels, would definitely return.

Stopped in here for dinner before a show at Rams Head in Annapolis. Food was awesome. Service was great. Recommend for sure.
Great little spot for a cocktail and quick bite before a show. Just a couple of blocks off Church Circle makes it nicely located. Try the fresh squeezed orange crush and sit outside and enjoy some live music. Also one of the most dog friendly spots in Naptown.
The Dough Boy and the Bleu Mussels were AMAZING!!!
Great atmosphere. Went for brunch on a Saturday. Smaller brunch menu than I anticipated but they had a buffet I would go back to try and bottomless Bloody Mary drinks. Great hostess welcome us and waitress was nice.
There was an extensive buffet brunch, with some really excellent selections. On the other hand, the omelet chef was overworked and they missed some items, like syrup for pancakes. My biggest reservation was the cost -- at $44/adult it was way too expensive.
Good food, excellent service but extremely noisy. There was a function in the hotel which took over the bar but once they left the noise level was acceptable. Not an estheticly pleasing place, seems like cafeteria seating but the food is worth a visit and service was very good. Not worth the drive to return but if you were in the area not a bad place to dine.
We have been before and had a great experience. This time we had a 2 month old with us but had no idea a live band was getting ready to perform. So the hostess arranged to move us into a private dining room and was super accommodating. We were very grateful for the wonderful service!
Food was great. Staff was attentive but not obtrusive. Decent array of beers. Sat out on the patio along West St. Some road noise, but didn't disrupt the mood. Will go again. Excellent Rubin
While in the past I have loved BAROAK for brunch on the weekends (they had a great menu, full bloody mary/mimosa bar), I was very disappointed to find that the menu changed for Saturday and Sunday brunch and it is not all that clear on the BAROAK website. Our server and the chef were very accommodating and let us order off of the regular breakfast menu (as the three-egg omelet is my favorite!) but I would no longer recommend this restaurant for brunch on the weekends due to the extremely small menu and over-priced drinks.
You guys are crazy not to advertise the free valet parking! It's why we finally booked a table after years of thinking about going but skipping it. If you are advertising the free valet parking, you need to do more of it as we have already recommended a return visit with other friends none of whom knew about it.
The staff was very lost and did not seem to know what was going on. The service was very slow and it felt more like we were chasing down the staff instead of them asking how we were doing.
The food was delicious. Our service is what was lacking. Waited 20 minutes for someone to even come to our table and we had to ask for refills for our drinks.
We'd never been to BAROAK before. I had the bleu mussels, which were large, juicy, and flavorable -some of the better mussels I've had. The corn chowder with crab was good as well and we enjoyed the stuffed potato skins with, among other ingredients, chicken skin!
We wanted to try Baroak and Annapolis Restaurant Week gave us that chance. The beer menu offers many good options to pair with the Belgian cuisine. The steak frites and mussels with blue cheese and pork belly were excellent. The chocolate cake and fruit crisp were also really good. In all we had a nice experience and plan to return.
Attended Annapolis restaurant week at Baroak. Price of restaurant week specials was almost same as daily cost. Limited menu. Mussel appetizer was good, salad was good. Chicken entree was somewhat small and not very tasty. Salmon entree was good. Desserts were good. Service was slow with too few waiters for room and long wait for entrees.
Really nice mussels, served in a variety of ways. It's their thing. The flatbreads are also quite decent. My partner had the 5 onion french onion soup and enjoyed it. The Baroak is a solid local choice when you want something better that "bar food."

We went on Christmas night and it was great. The menu is varied well done. The food was excellent. The only negative thing I would say is that the drinks are a bit pricey.
After the light parade this was the perfect spot to go for a bite to eat. The music was enjoyable and the food was yummy.
We had very bad service and our drinks and food were not tasty.
We were immediately put off by music from a live performer, which carries at full volume throughout the place (at 7pm). It is a hard and cavernous space without a ceiling, a vocalist who would be great in a bar is not so good in this setting. We had a flatbread pizza as an app. It was good, and delivered fast. Then the waiting began. It took 45 minutes or so to get a soup and salad and some fish tacos. Was the Bay out of fish? Must have been. The tacos were cold and each of them had but a tiny piece of rockfish swimming in sauce. The filling was about one third of the height of a full size white tortilla standing upright in a rack. We complained. The wait staff took it back without question, but it took another ten minutes to get another, this one warm and with a reasonable amount of fish. Nobody offered to make it right. The manager happened by to ask us about our experience and we told her. She was good, took 20% off our tab, bringing the price of the tacos to about $9 and offered desert. Mussels are a specialty here, they looked good. We saw a lot of families. For some frites, another specialty, some mussels and a pizza, washed down with a beer, it might work. Wait staff were not to blame-- they were burdened by an incompetent kitchen. Fine dining? Try somewhere else.
Lively atmosphere, tasty cuisine featuring mussels, flatbread, seafood and steak entries. I recommend the Rockfish Boil and the pan seared salmon.
