Barndiva Ratings and Reviews
Was a bit disappointed. Had a reservation for an anniversary dinner and was stil seated 20 minutes late after arrriving early. Third visit here (live with in MN) and probably won’t make the visit on the next trip. :( Fun ambiance and food was good, but really disappointed with the service this time.
I’ve been happy with barn diva in the past but I haven’t been there in several years. Unfortunately, I found the menu to be narrow on the choices and very hearty and meaty. I ordered the bahn mi and was very disappointed. It was a huge hamburger like piece of meat with very little topping, too much bread and not even spicy. My friend had the crab BLT and the crab was almost tasteless. Given that we were unhappy with the food we found the whole experience to be over priced at $178 for three people with one $52 bottle of wine. The atmosphere was nice as usual and the server was great. It’s too bad I don’t think will be going back to barn diva
We went to Barndiva for brunch. My wife had the special, an ahi "tuna sandwich" and I had the duck confit with a poached egg. The ahi was rare and prepared with aioli. My wife thought her dish was outstanding. I didn't argue with her because my confit was both crunchy toasty and falling off the bone. The poached egg was perfection itself (unctuous yolk in a tender-firm white), blending just right with the fingerling potatoes and the steamed (?) beet cubes of various colors that added a slightly sweet touch to each bite. The Jean Vesselle brut champagne was the perfect accompaniment. What a great beginning to a Sunday morning.
I had perfectly cooked salmon, which wasn't very interesting flavor wise. My wife's duck was amazing. My main problem was portion size. I spent $200 and left hungry. They give 1pc of bread and take your dish. I understand gourmet food but this is a fundamental issue. Lastly, I'm not a chef, however, I could have made my exact meal at home.
It’s a lovely place to have lunch or go to a garden party in the summertime. Barndiva has art work, lots of natural light. Serving stag. Are unobtrusive but vigilant. Food is beautifully put together with fresh vegetables and condiments. A ground pork Banh mi was interesting. Unfortunately the chips were slightly soggy and the meat a trfle too salty. The homemade Arnold Palmercwss a work of beauty and tasted delightful. We have yet to make it to dinner. I have yet to make it to dinner but will be looking forward to the experience.
Wonderful atmosphere. We had the yellowtail carpaccio, cauliflower soup and petrale sole on lobster risotto with balsalmic glazed cippolini onions and leeks. We brought a bottle of Cirq Bootleggers Hill 2012 and it was near perfect. Service was attentive. Bread was crusty and chewy, served with salted butter. For dessert, a chocolate pot de creme with a candle on it for my love’s birthday.
The food was incredible. My only comment is that they only had one server on Sunday night after thanksgiving thinking it was going to be slow. They could have used two servers so we weren’t kept waiting. The server did the very best she could so I don’t fault her at all. The food made up for the wait!!!
Cocktails were well thought out and complex and pretty. We shared 3, my favorite being the jalapeño tequila with peach and tajin. YUM. The Burger was SUPER DELICIOUS. Like couldn’t put it down, actually ate every morsel. The fry chips were cool and tasty too - soft in the middle and crispy outside. Perfect. Fiancé got a Rueben sandwich. It was also super delicious. Huge portions! We’ll definitely be back for dinner.
We loved the atmosphere! The lighting, decor and music were very cozy and inviting. The food was delicious! The dishes are simple, but are plated beautifully. For instance, I had the roasted chicken, which sounds boring, but the polenta cake and tomato sofrito made this dish extra special. We sat inside, but the outside dining is adorable with string lights and candles. I would highly recommend this place for a couple or a group of friends.
The food was amazing! I was a little disappointed with the service/communication. It was my husbands birthday and when I made the reservation I had asked for a candle in his dessert. When I spoke to staff the day before, I reminded them. The gal on the phone said she had it written down. When we got our dessert, no candle. That was a bummer. Towards the end of the night, it appeared our server got a bit busy and 30+ minutes went by where we didn’t see her.
