wonderful restaurant in nice spacious venue. Excellent cocktails, superb food and excellent service. Expensive but worth it.
The level of food and service at Barndiva remains so high that it could easily lapse into a self-important attitude but, happy to report, that never happens. It remains our top restaurant in Wine Country for any occasion.
Every thing about the restaurant was pleasurable. Starting with the ambience, the servers, the food. A very hospitable attitude on part of all the staff. A warm and inviting atmosphere.
And, delicious good.
An amazing evening with my wife. She had the dungeness crab salad and I had the filet mignon. Both prepared to perfection. The right amount of food, wonderful atmosphere, and great service. Loved it!!
We ate at Barndiva as part of my wife's birthday celebration weekend in Napa. We were spending the night in Healdsburg, and I had gotten a recommendation that we should do lunch at Barndiva one day. The restaurant is nice and bright...very lively and inviting. We were seated promptly, and were given our menus and the wine list. Our server was amazing. She made great recommendations given our questions and what was sounding good to us. And the recommendations were spot on. Food was excellent. We really enjoyed the roasted chicken salad, and the crab salad club was delicious as well...the potato chip fries are amazing!!! She also brought us a glass of bubbly to celebrate the special occasion, and a small desert at the end of the meal. So sweet! We loved out experience here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice relaxed atmosphere with some amazing cuisine. Thanks to the staff at Barndiva! Awesome!
Second visit in a couple of months. After one mediocre meal had friens who wanted to go for first time. attractive, good service but food... Confit of duck dry, stringy, not much taste, gnocchi was one lump of potato. Plated food was not appetizing, all very brown and dull. Steak entree was dull. The Baked Alaska dessert only related to real thing in frozen aspect. The goat Cheese Croquettes were the only tasty item. Restaurant has really gone down in quality.
We had an amazing, delicious lunch! The service was very good. The food was exceptional and the cocktail I had, (Bloody Mary) was perfect! We will come back again, but next time we will try dinner!
Good food and comfortable setting
Wonderful food, with lovely laid back ambience. The service clearly aims to not rush or be intrusive, but at times was just a tad bit slower than necessary.
Hosted 5 friends for my birthday dinner. Entire evening was lovely until we were ushered out from our table because they wanted to turn the table at 8:30 pm for another party. We were informed that they were supposed to sit down at our table 20 minutes earlier and they had been waiting. For spending a good sum for my special evening, it was a bizarre way to treat guests who were just wrapping up their coffee and could have waited 5 minutes more for us to get up.
Easily one of the most amazing meals we had in Healdsburg!
First off the Rye and Bourbon cocktails are to die for. We took all the recommendations from the server and ended up having an exquisite meal. Don’t miss the tuna appetizer.
Fantastic original dishes prepared with local ingredients, and one of the best wine lists around. The decor is also unique: a converted barn redone in modern style. Not the cheapest place but well worth the indulgence.
Barndiva did not disappoint! I was looking forward to the visit on a recent trip to Healdsburg. The food was outstanding!
We were two couples, girls taking the guys to dinner for their birthdays. I loved the entire experience. The cocktails were imaginative and really good. The wine choices were great. And the food was fresh, creative, and beautifully prepared and presented. I also really enjoyed the feel and ambiance of the restaurant, and the service was excellent. We will definitely return in the future - great fun! Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for making our experience so wonderful!
absolutely incredible food. Perfect technique and fantastic ingredients
Barndiva has excellent food. I had a hamburger and it was one of the best hamburgers I have ever had. The menu is very good so there are lots of good choices too.
It is best to get there early as the tables fill up fast and it may be difficult to get a table later.
The best experience in Healdsburg! Fabulous food, service, ambiance!!
I love this restaurant and go every time I'm in Healdsburg. During our last visit we informed staff that we were celebrating our anniversary and they treated us to some complimentary champagne. The meal was exquisite and the service exemplary. I cannot wait to go back once the weather warms up to sit on the gorgeous patio!
Great fresh food.
Love The Beet Salad it was really good & the potatoes chips ..very Yummy
My husband and I have enjoyed dining at BD for years. The food is always inspired and beautifully presented and oh so tasty. The chef seems particularly adroit in putting foods and sauces and spices together to create truly masterful combinations. Both the interior and exterior dining areas are lovely, and most important it is not too loud.
Had a great meal here. So many choices in Healdsburg. We were glad we chose this one.
Went for Restaurant Week but beforehand I'd decided date would be doing the special and I'd go off the regular menu. Done this before in the past at other restaurants. Server presented the menus and specifically said without prompting that it was per table either one or the other. I asked why and got a nothing burger answer. I wonder if it is portion size they're afraid of exposing or what?
Other than the above we enjoyed our meals but had to basically have identical dishes so sharing which we usually always do was not in the cards that night.
The food was wonderful and perfectly cooked. The crusted chicken was tender and juicy and the cauliflower soup was creamy and delicious. The service was wonderful. The dessert could have been better it was a little dry.
Beautiful place. Excellent service. Food was very good. Overall, way to pricey for other than a special occasion restaurant, which is unfortunate. We'll go back for drink and lighter food next door.
Great meal as always. Seated near bar which was a little noisier than usual, but service and food exemplary.
Service was slow and felt like other tables around us getting more attention then us. We were served our appetizer way before our cocktails. He openned the bottle of wine before ordering our dinner, no glasses on the table and it was a Pinot, did not need to breathe. Was overall disappointed. Several times the server made inappropriate comments and was rude.
Healdsburg is well known for its excellent array of restaurants, and we have been to almost all of them. Barndiva is at the top of the list - the best amongst the best.
Lovely spot for a nice dinner. I really enjoyed the food. I’m looking forward to trying out their Sunday dinners next door.
Usually phenomenal, something was off tonight. They ran out of califlower soup and substituted with a beet salad which was just ok. The risotto was cold and I literally had three grean beans. A big disappointment overall.
service was ridiculously slow; kitchen made main course substation without notifying us!!
It was Sonoma restaurant week yet instead of being prepared , the restaurant ran out of the sole entree and without consulting with the diners, chose to substitutes salmon? Salmon does not substitute for sole! Two completely different flavor profiles! Extremely disappointed!!!
My boyfriend and I went here for restaurant week . Absolutely loved the restaurant. The food was amazing! But... we sat next to a table who ordered from the regular menu and the restaurant week menu portions were much smaller. Went to a lot of restaurants for restaurant week in the past (Napa and Sonoma) and only one or two did this out of all of them. I think if you are going to participate in restaurant week, you shouldn't skimp on your local patrons. These restaurant weeks are designed during low tourist season and to get locals out more to keep these places busy. These restaurants should understand that they may be making their first impression on a local customer that will continue to come back as long as that first impression went well. Restaurants and staff should not assume restaurant week patrons are cheap or do not go out to eat much. We are foodies and we like to use these weeks to test out a few places we have heard about but haven't gone yet. If you're not a fan of restaurant week, just do not participate.
The drinks were very carefully made and tasty. The service was friendly, prompt and efficient. It was conducted in relaxed manner. The cauliflower soup was outstanding. The bread had very good texture and flavor. The main course chicken was very good -cooked but moist. The dessert was small but very flavorful- A rich chocolate with a very nice vanilla gelato and berries. The French press coffee was full flavored and good.
The restaurant advertises as being vegetarian friendly but on this day (1:00 on a Sunday) there was only French toast available. A friend asked for an omelette without the caviar. They said "of course" and then served it without caviar but WITH BACON! Also there was no really light course on the menu such as a salad.
Also, why do restaurants think they have perfect seasoning ability and put no salt or pepper on the table. So we asked for it. Came in tiny bowllike containers. Pepper was 1/4 full, and the small spoon had obviously been used by prior patrons.
What is not to like about Barndiva? Chef always knows how to please. Sunday brunch always a treat here.
Went to Barndiva during Sonoma County Rrstaurant week and it was a perfect choice. Enjoyed each course although didnleave hungry. Portions were very small, but delightful.
Everything here was top notch...from the moment we walked in...to the moment we walked out. Service, food, ambiance was on point! After dinner we decided to have a drink at the bar. Service here was just as stellar.
