It’s hard to describe the Barndiva experience. And a web site is no substitution for being able to sit back and enjoy the beauty of an extraordinary space, the taste of a perfect cocktail, or the satisfaction that comes from a meal that hits all the right notes in you.


Barndiva is a celebration of all things local. Our food is sourced from farmers, ranchers and small batch purveyors who live and work in the magnificent food shed surrounding us.

Lunch menu was extremely limited. The food was good I just want it more choices.
Because of Covid the waiters don’t come to your table.
This has a big impact I am used to ask in the waiters will help with the menu.

Nothing special. Had the greens salad. There was 1/2 of a beet sliced thin, and 1/4 of 1 radish sliced thin. Just a bag of greens put on a plate.
The Ceasar salad was average
A bottle of water is $8.

It was a wonderful experience. My only complaint is that the menu does not contain enough options. While everything is delicious, it would be nice to have more to choose from.

Because of the use of texting for ordering an little interaction with staff it was not like in the past times when we have eaten at Barndiva. I understand that there are staffing issues related to covid. So will wait before returning.

This was a very unique situation, but Barndiva stepped up and turned lemons into lemonade. Both Lukka and Jade were absolutely wonderful hosts and made my birthday dinner quite special.

No service restaurant with a 19% service fee. You order via your phone-txt message. Little to no interaction with any staff. Nobody asks how things are, refills water, etc. I'm on my computer and phone all day. Don't want to have my face stuck in it on date night.
Also, they charge a 19% service fee (not tip) for all parties, regardless of size.

We arrived at Barndiva to discover that I made a mistake online scheduling! They were able to seat us after all being mindful of a next reservation at 7.
We were seated (outside) and given menus.
It was a bit windy but a comfortable .
The process of ordering & communicating was explained to us and was on the menu. (All via text messaging}
We made our choices, ordered a very good Sauvignon Blanc and enjoyed our meal!

We would probably dine at Barndiva again !

Our first time to Barndiva. Loved the the ambience and openness. Made for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. Limited menu and everything we had was wonderful.

The shrimp scampi was the best I ever had. The Jackson Family green salad was exceptional, too. I have already recommended Barndiva to several friends.

Wonderful experience dining under the wisteria. Very attentive service. Amazing entrees, salmon & cod, both. And a dessert to die for — don’t underestimate the PBJ by its name.

This is our favorite restaurant in Healdsburg, but definitely a "treat" restaurant.
All of our dishes were delicious--salads, pastas and mains. The only bit of an issue is the pasta serving was very small, and mentioned basil in it on the menu, but only had one lone leaf of basil in the dish. Same with the Cod dish--the menu mentioned morels, and we got one lone morel mushroom. Tasty bites, but take a few, and the meal is gone!

Had a wonderful meal outside at Barndiva. Each and every dish was delicious - ordered a second of one of them we liked it so much. The management and service was excellent - had a terrific time talking wine and food experience. The fresh flowers everywhere are gorgeous. Can't wait to go back!

Because they set up this system of texting your order, they never come to check on you, it felt like take out, there is basically no service. Also they are very behind the times not offering for example a non dairy option (almond milk) for those of us who are allergic to dairy.

The staff was very nice, but no where to be found and for 120 brunch for two this was not a luxury experience. This is the managements fault for setting the ordering and service up this way.

They also need to get with the times and offer a vegan and non dairy option on the menu.

Rude woman greeted us. Extremely off-putting manner. Same woman seated us - zero grace.

We had three guests and were allowed one paper menu sitting opposite one another. Requests for separate menus were denied. Not printed on special paper, and we were informed menus are disposed of after one use. Quite strange and awkward - $130 lunch and a few cents for paper is too much?

Requirement that orders be texted to the kitchen felt less like fine dining and more like a fast-food kiosk. No asking for recommendations, no dialogue, zero service.

Food arrived - mediocre at best. Shrimp scampi was greasy and meager. Chicken sandwich was better, though only adequate. Chicken Caesar lacked freshness. Presentation lacked any semblance of elegance. Extra $10 charge for requested bread.

When paper napkins were requested, the same woman who greeted us acted as though this was a great imposition, and took the unprecedented opportunity to insist that we have only one or two (for the three of us), then pointedly placed them under a glass saying "We don't like them to blow around," as though talking to a semi-competent 3-year-old. Deal breaker, so I complained. "Sorry you feel that way," was the offhand response, before she commented that "Covid requires us to take special precautions." By being stingy and rude with paper napkins? Seriously!

Asked for the check and was told it had already been billed to my credit card - no chance to review. Inquired about the tip, and was told 19% had "automatically" been added to the bill. I tip generously for adequate service, perhaps 35% for exceptional service, a minimum of 10% for barely adequate service. Service at Barndiva fell FAR below barely adequate. Called the next day, and was texted a copy of the bill to review.

As I was leaving, spoke of my concerns with a person who was more gracious; hardly made up for the rest.

Barndiva - Don't bother unless you want aggravation at significant expense.

ONLY ISSUE IS THE SYSTEM SETUP TO GET A CREDIT CARD IN ADVANCE AND ASSUMPTION THAT THERE WAS NO NEED TO SEE THE RECEIPT WHEN LEAVING - ALTHOUGH THE SERVER DID GET IT WHEN ASKED. HIS FIRST COMMENT TO THE REQUEST WAS 'WE JUST CHARGE THE CARD ON FILE'. SECOND WAS THE ASSUMPTION THAT YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO HAVE AN ITEM EXPLAINED TO YOU WHEN ORDERING BY TEXT FROM YOUR SEAT. MANY OF THE DISHES COULD USE AN EXPLANATION AS A COURTESY. A GREAT PLACE TO GO AND A FAVORITE OF BOTH LOCALS AND VISITORS. STAFF IS EXCELLENT - THE SYSTEM DIMINISHES THEIR EFFORTS

Their motto is "eat the view," and from where we were, under the wisteria, it very much lived up to the name. The eating area is a gorgeous garden patio, with tables spaced far apart and fast responses cia text message (this is how they're dealing with COVID-- texted orders), and the drinks are amazingly balanced, and complex.

They were able to make a shrimp scampi dairy free. The salmon was also perfectly cooked, with an impressively balanced beurre blanc. Their pistachio mousse was light and creamy and just the right amount of sweet.

burger was excellent. shrimp scampi was ok, not great. I can see why people complain about the portion size-- a little small but not absurdly slow. just a bit dry. nice outdoor ambience with the covid seating, but not something I need to return to.

As usual, everything was fantastic, everyone was super friendly, vegetarian suggestions were fabulous. When I had desert and my wife ordered fries instead, the server brought it with ketchup as well as a lavender honey to make it more desertish.

We will keep coming back.

As far as my rating of four for noise, loud cars on Healdsburg Ave., as for the value rating of four, well, I’m a pretty corpulent diner. My doctor thanks you and I feel full without feeling painfully full after my dinner, so I thank you as well.

Great! I appreciate the Covid precautions, but a VERY hands off experience of the $$. I think they are taking it a bit far, particularly now that that vaccinations are so widespread... The food is phenomenal, the setting is magical.

Every detail of the meal was perfect. The salad was beautiful and delicious. We wished the goat cheese croquettes were endless. The steak, asparagus, & potatoes were done perfectly and oozed with flavor. The pasta was so fresh, creamy, and delicious. And to top it off, the “PBJ” dessert cakes were so scrumptious - we were glad there was two of them so we didn’t have to fight about who got more.
