Rose, our server is great!
Great place and food
The outdoor patio was perfect for our leisurely meal. Service was excellent. Food was tasty. I highly recommend Barlow’s.
Pleasant, but untrained wait staff. Oysters are from New Jersey. Seriously? Tuna Nachos were served without the wasabi sauce that was listed on the menu, when we asked for it we were told that the day cook didn't know how to make it. A burger ordered rare came out medium. Two orders of steak tips - one came out in 5 minutes and the other over 30 minutes. Bad fish tacos. Parking validation is $2 off $21
Emily was a very attentive waitress but the chef must have been on vacation or the kitchen was short staffed on Father's Day as all 4 of my grandkids' meals (pancakes, scramble eggs and French toast) were served cold. Granted there were 8 of us (the 2nd set of customers @ 10am) but that is no excuse. My meal was barely warm.....the food, however, was delicious!
Delicious food and friendly staff! Our waiter was so wonderful and helpful with drinks and menu options. We had a group with all different tastes and everyone was happy with their meal.
Did not have a good experience. We had a reservation and they did not seat us for 30 minutes after our reservation time even though there were numerous open tables around us and nobody waiting to be seated. Our waiter did not even smile once or offer any niceties. Do not recommend.
We chose Barlow's for our Mother's Day Brunch and were not disappointed! It was our first time there. Coming in from the burbs, we were a bit concerned about parking, but no problem, plenty of on street parking available. Barlow's is situated in a nice, quiet area in Forte Pointe, so we were very relaxed from the get go. Cool vibe inside, and very spacious..did not feel like other tables were on top of us. All five of us ordered a different dish (some breakfast, some lunch) and we all loved our choices. Best of all was our server, Rose, who was fantastic! So genuine, professional, informed and an added bonus, had a great sense of humor! We will definitely be back!
My wife and adult son went there for the first time. We arrived on a Wednesday night at 6:30 PM and sat at a high top in the bar area. My son ordered a salad with Salmon on top as he is gluten and dairy free by necessity. We ordered an appetizer and 3 main courses. Within 3 minutes of ordering a salad, we called over the waiter and explained my son can't eat the salad with dressing. The waiter went to the kitchen and asked but was told it was too late because the dressing was on and the only way was to order a second salad. We pressed some more and he said he'd ask his manager. He came back and was told "no". So we ordered a second salad so my son could eat a dinner. Of course my wife and I got our meals 5 minutes before his salad came out which was longer than we corrected the first salad to not have dressing!
Then to top it off [excuse the pun] rather than remake a new salad and move the salmon filet to the top of the new one, and give us the old one to go, they added a second salmon without even asking
us. This was just a lousy way to do business and fostered bad feeling by all of us.
Great venue in an old brick building. Service was slow at lunch hour but we were not in a rush so perfect for our needs.
Apparently it was trivia night, in addition to having another private event, so the noise level was rather high. The food was decent and the ambience was as expected. The waitress wasn’t particularly attentive.
Have been to Barlow's numerous times, and they have consistently delicious food and very good service. This visit continued that. Menu has a lot of variety, particularly for comfort food. They no longer offer my favorite lamb burger, but the mac & cheese was great. My friend had a burger which was also great. We'll continue to return!
Always a great meal and atmosphere at Barlow. They are very kid-friendly and spacious, which is really nice for parents who want to enjoy a brunch cocktail and need a place to sit with enough room for wild toddlers. The food is outstanding. I recently discovered the "Breakfast Skillet" and it's so delicious.
Barlow's is our neighborhood "can't go wrong" spot. Something for everyone on the considerable menu. Nice people, great location, fresh food to satisfy a huge variety of preferences. Even picky eaters can find something at Barlow's.
Great place for a break from the Boston Convention Center. Good menu options for adults and kids.
Went here before st Patrick’s parade! Good spot!
Overall a nice experience. Had to send a plate back twice. It must be a part of their kitchen culture, but all the plates were cold. As a result none of the food was actually very hot; mostly just luke warm-ish.
The servers were super nice and the drinks were on point.
The service was a bit slow and the fish was way over cooked. The steak tips were pretty good but too much barbeque sauce on them.
My husband and I were visit from Upstate NY. We ordered the Big Papi pretzel which was huge and delicious. We also got the kielbasa appetizer and my husband ordered the burger which was just delicious and very juicy. We enjoyed our meal so very much.
I chose to have brunch here because of the Oreo & Reeses stack pancakes I saw advertised. Only to find out the menu has changed and they are no longer available.
Gps leads you to the back of the restaurant, no signage that you must go around for entrance. Short staff although the food came out fresh & fast.
Great spot, quiet. Older crowd. Great food
Hot food. Good service.
Service was great! Food was great! Location was close enough to walk from convention center. All around, great find!
Sunday brunch. Generous food and great corn beef hash dish. Small mimosa overpriced. Good service by waitress. Nicely restored warehouse look with hardwood floors big wooden beams and some modern elements. Bar ok for sports on tv but not a sports bar
Fantastic food, great service and a fun atmosphere. I can’t recommend this place enough.
No ambience, it felt like I was at Arby’s. This place has the potential to be very nice with some decorations. The menu is very limited and the server did not have any idea about any of the food items. The chicken sandwich was OK, but I was hoping for a little bit more upscale of a menu and environment to dine in.
The food was very good! And we got sat right away, but they need more servers. Other than that, excellent place for dinner!
Not a bad place. Good chicken club. Limited vegetarian options. Will try again, but other than being spacious with outdoor patio and great service, this place is just your basic “business lunch” place. I’m not sure about evening scene. It seems like a place that should be more like a neighborhood gem than a corporate hang out spot.
Outside dining great. Inside way too loud
The restaurant was very accommodating of our requests. The food was delicious, and the setting was perfect for a summer day.
The food supposedly not spicy was extremely spicy. Very poor service. 10min waiting for silverware. Nothing good!!
It was the first time dining at this restaurant. Our office recently moved to channel center. The outside patio is terrific. Wish I could say the same about the food and service
I ordered the shrimp tacos. Was stunned when the lunch finally arrived. There were two small tacos, filled with endless lettuce and huge chunks of avacado. The cook graciously put two small shrimp in each taco. And they were undercooked. They were quite generous with the fries, which were delicious. It’s insane for Barlow’s to charge $15 for four small shrimp. We will not return.
Food was ok.
The service was quite poor. Our waitress and not attentive. When we asked about our food which we had been waiting for almost an hour for, she just told us her tables were backed up. No apology or said she would go check on our order. Could have been she was just having a bad day. But the food was not worth the wait for worth the poor service. I ordered the eggs benedict with steak added. The steak had some type of sauce on it that was not compatible with the brunch theme. It was $7 to add it and I ended up just taking it off. The English muffin was also hard and burnt and eggs over cooked. I was excited to try this place but unfortunately, was very disappointed.
Mother's Day noon. Restaurant 80% full. Woefully understaffed: 3 total waitresses overwhelmed with tables, hostess was running around crazy doing 3 jobs, 0 busboys. Took 15 minutes to take our drink orders, another 15 till our drinks arrived (they didn't have clean glasses ready). Food took 30 mins. and had 3 mistakes. Never saw anyone who looked like manager the entire time we were there. How can you run a place with hardly any staff on Mother's Day?
Food took way too long to get to table. About an hour for 5 meals. Otherwise everything was great otherwise.
Went to mother’s day brunch. reservation was needed. people who came as walk-on had a long wait. there was only a few waitress working, after taking our order, the next time seeing her was giving us the bill. she was clearly over worked. Food was very good.
Went here on a rainy night after picking up a friend from Logan. Didnt park across the street, but near to a garage, so it wasnt a far walk. The Host was told our party was going to be late, but it wasnt busy at all. The only problem I had with this spot was the service. Our waitress didnt know what was going on, or let alone the food/beer list. Know your drinks if you want to be a waitress! After waiting at the airport for over an hour for my friend, we both needed a drink asap! The food was good tho, cant complain typical bar food. I wish there was better service, the host that helped should be on the floor getting tips, and make the waitress that nigh try to host, if thats even possible. Wouldnt go here again just wanted to try the food because saw it on social media page.
The food was very good. Very loud hard to talk and be heard.
Food was good - too much of it though - and change your website menu - not accurate and someone came thinking they could have chix waffles - but NOPE!!
