Barley & Board
Food was good as always. Drinks were incredibly slow and just ok. Food arrived at different times (e.g., fries 10 minutes after sandwich). If the service gets back on track, then they’ll be back at 4.5-5 stars. Giving a generous 4 stars for now mainly based on prior experiences.
I am obsessed with the Bread Pudding. We drove to Denton just to get it. I also like the Salmon flatbread.
Proposal party was so much fun, great service - they can handle many different orders and keep your meal/party flowing.
It was a great place. First Date, ambiance was wonderful, very relaxing.
I encountered 5 staff members who were prompt, courteous, helpful and truly interested in our story.
The waitress was so on top of her game I tipped her 25%.
I will definitly go back and tell all my friends about it.
Delicious food and Will was a great waiter!
The food and drinks are great! It was busy so a little on the slow side with service. The only suggestion I have is on a busy day (Mother's Day) to have a staff member that can circulate thru the dining room and refresh beverages (Tea, Sodas). It is frustrating to wait 10 minutes to get a fresh iced tea.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We were a larger party with a three year old and the staff was busy but all the waiters took time to joke with my son and make meaningful considerate suggestions for food and drinks to all of the rest of us!
Our waitress was very nice and checked up on us very often.
Great place to meet up with friends or a casual date. The food is great.
Love this place love the food........................please review
Music in the front part of the restaurant was too load. Almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Much better after they finished. Back of restaurant would have been much better place to sit.
As usual, whenever in town for business we make this out routine stop. Food is awesome, good atmosphere, and great brews on tap. The bacon-wrapped dates and fried portobello were wicked good starters, we definitely recommend! Barley and Board won't disappoint!
Delicious food. Wait staff able
to make recommendations for a beverage that fits your palate. Visited on a lovely spring evening and all windows open that evening. Enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner.
We had some friends come up from Dallas to eat lunch here on a Sunday. This is one of the better restaurants in Denton. It is more along the lines of a place you'd see in Deep Ellum with an upper end industrial look, but in Denton with average prices for the area. The food is pretty good. One of the places to check out if you're entertaining guests from out of town, but nothing to travel far for.
The food was great, and the service was amazing
Barley is a great place. So unique! We will definitely be back!
Great service and immediate seating with a reservation. Otherwise a somewhat long wait. Wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu and able to recommend great choices. All food/beverages were delicious
We were welcomed with a friendly greeting and given a great booth in the back next to big windows. Our server, Joseph was excellent! He is very knowledgeable about the menu and helped me make a drink selection. He took good care of us. We ordered the blistered Shisito peppers (which could have been blistered just a bit more). They opened up the big windows and it created a perfect feeling of sitting outside even though we were inside. I had the burger and it was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely go back and soon!
Great food, great service! Would recommend over and over!
Great food, great atmosphere, great waitress! We eat here every time we come to Denton! Very creative food. Wish they had some new dessert choices!
Always delicious food and drinks! Always amazing service!
Excellent service and really creative food. Highly recommend.
This is our go-to place whenever we are in Denton. The food is amazing and they have a great drink menu including A LOT of craft beers. Definitely would recommend this place.
Brunch on Easter was a great experience, service was outstanding, only to be outdone by the food.
Consistently great food and service. Looking forward to our next visit!
Great place n location go enjoy tec9mmend to everybody. Wait staff very nice, the food was grest
When I walked in, I was greeted nicely and was taken immediately to my table after I told her my reservation. The atmosphere was a high end rustic texas feel with beautiful touches everywhere. My date came minutes later and as soon as she sat down, our waitress came and poured our water and told us what we should know about the menus offered at that time (Brunch, and Lunch). We spent a total of almost two hours there. The food came out timely after we ordered and our drinks were constantly being refilled. We were asked for desert, which we both declined, then she brought our checks. My personal total was $16 for a Brunch meal and a soda, so a bit pricy but worth it! We left with goodbyes from 3 different employees. I will definitely come again!
Incredible, every time.
This was a very relaxing restaurant to visit. There was good food and great music. The staff was wonderful and I look forward to my next visit.
Love the open air windows. The prickly pear vodka tonic was amazing!
The mussels are the best! We shared them and got extra bread to dip in the broth, it was excellent!
We frequent Barley and Board often - special occasion or not. Brunch, happy hour, dinner. With friends, family, church group, or date night. Our go-to menu items include the truffled portobello fries, the Mother Board, and of course an Opera House cocktail (or a few)... but we have ordered and loved almost every single item on the menu.
I love you
One of my favorite restaurants, never disappoints! Beer flights are always a winner and the salmon was probably the best I’ve ever had!
The hanger steak was not really a steak, but was priced like one. It was raw and very chewy, could only eat 2 small bites. My wife’s pork was ok, but dry. Her corn was the best thing on our plates. But hate to pay60.00 for corn.
I am so sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. My name is Chelsea Close, I am the General Manager here at Barley & Board. If you have the time I'd love to personally speak with you and invite you back on us, if you're willing to give us another chance. I want everyone that comes in to have the most amazing experience, so it truly hurts me that yours was far from that. I will private message you my personal information. I hope to hear back, and hope you have a wonderful day. -Chels
One of our favorite spots! Can’t beat the brunch and they have one of the best burgers in DFW!!
When in Denton we always eat there ! We love the food and the staff-
Delicious food, large price tag but worth it! Great ambiance.
It was my very first time eating at Barley and Board, and i know I will not be coming back or recommending it to anyone I know. The burger I got was tasteless, burnt from the middle, and the fries tasted more like stale chips. The waitress seemed to be like she wanted to be anywhere else but there. completely overpriced for horrible food.
Good Morning, Ana, My name is Chelsea Close and I am the General Manager here at Barley. I am so so sorry for your poor experience. It truly breaks my heart that you had such a bad visit here. If you would be willing to give us another chance I'd love to invite you back, on us. I'd also love to talk to you personally if you have the time. Again, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize. You deserve to have your time and money respected, and appreciated.
A nice get together with some friends. Always enjoyable
