Barking Crab is a landmark Boston seafood restaurant celebrating our 22nd Birthday. Located on the Fort Point Channel in Boston's Seaport District, The Barking Crab features fresh crabs, lobsters, and day-boat fish brought in each morning. We feature traditional New England fare served in a funky urban clam-shack setting. We have a full bar including over 15 regional micro brews, cocktails, and an approachable value-priced wine list. We are family friendly and a short 2 minute walk from the Boston Children's Museum. Other area attractions include the Institute of Contemporary Art, Harpoon Brewery, the Harbor-walk, Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and Boston's Financial District.

Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere! The staff was friendly and the communal seating leads to great conversations. We enjoyed it so much we are there two evening in a row.

Not hospitable to singles. Arrived well after 8, place half empty. KIM, the hostess, said with some satisfaction, that I was not allowed to have a table ... singles could only be seated at the bar. I decided not to walk out because I was hungry and needed to get back, but I thought about it, and am sorry I didn't leave. Eli the bartender was more than adequate, and made sure I didn't lack for beer. Food was average at best for the type. Dinner over-priced. You can order appetizer clams plus side of fries and save 10$. Kind of cool vibe and atmosphere during day, when you can see the water. Would never go back, would never recommend. Much better seafood places in Boston.

Why would anyone go there when they confirm reservation on Open Table and you grab cab to restaurant only to find they have entire place closed that evening for private party. 10/9/17 If they can not update open table then why would one go there and waste a cab fare and have to grab another cab to much better restaurant! The hostess there could not have cared less. An indication, in my opinion, most likely of the type of service if this is their best foot forward.

We love this restaurant. Roasted lobster is the best! We have never seen this on any other menu and we travel all over the world. We always visit this restaurant each time we are in Boston. It is on the water; friendly and vibrant. Casual yet great food!
