Michale was a great server/host and the food was great!
We liked our pizzas at this affordable dining option in the Golden Triangle district, and I appreciated that they had several vegetarian options on the menu. On a Friday at 7:30pm, tables were easy to come by, but it was extremely loud from the millennial happy hour crowd filling the bar and outdoor space. I'd like to try lunch sometime. The manager and staff were attentive.
Food is very good and good happy hour drink prices but a bit loud for our taste but seems to have a very active happy hour crowd who seem to really be enjoying themselves but not so easy on the ears if you want to converse with your dinner partner.
Forgot appetizers , but at least we weren’t charged. What we did get was ok
The restaurant had some repair on one side of the room. The service was still great and the staff excused the appearance
The food was excellent and was served very quick A good choice for lunch
Our food was good. But the service was terrible. The waiter was not knowledgeable of what alcohol brands the bar had and actively tried to dissuade our party from ordering certain cocktails. He was not attentive until he was called out on it with a threat to leave. The bar was also out of several beers as well.
Good value. This particular time the food was a little slow coming out and the attentiveness to service waned at the end of my visit. What should have easily been a 45 minute lunch ended up taking 1.25 hours.
I don't write many reviews, but I have to say I love Barcode. The food is always fabulous, and the wait staff, extremely accommodating. They always have great specials. It is kind of loud, which is why I gave one less star for ambiance, so I always try to avoid Friday night. But I'm old, so that's why! :-)
Great service from the wait staff recommending drinks and entrees and doing so while keeping high energy and a good sense of humor. We had the trio of dips to start, which were all really tasty. For dinner my wife had the chicken and waffles and I had the santa fe chicken sandwich. The chicken and waffles were delicious, some of the best I've ever tried. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, but not great. There was an option to add avocado for $2, but instead guacamole was added which I was not as big a fan of. It made the sandwich a little too messy. The great service will bring us back here in the future!
Food is decent and service was very good. We had one issue with a dish we ordered and they took care of us right away. The waiter was very charming and continued to fill our drink glasses.
This restaurant is not for the 55+ crowd. It is designed for a younger crowd with TVs ringing the bar and dining room. The music was techno-rock. However, the food was excellent.
Since, a dining experience for most is a total experience, I would avoid this unless you are young, like techno music, in an energetic atmosphere, and with good daily bargains.
Again, the food was excellent and the staff was good as well.
Barcode is dependably loud - always. Having said that, the food is excellent - and the Happy Hour cannot be beat. The Thai curry mussels are absolutely dreamy.
The wait staff was not very attentive or hospitable. The prices are rather high for the food quality. Happy hour specials are a joke. Appetizers cost as much as an entree. My burger had an odd flavor; didn’t finish it. I told the waiter and he didn’t offer to see if I’d like anything different and still charged me for the lackluster burger. The seven wings that you get for $14 was the best part of our food choices that night. The restrooms need some love. Having said all that, it’s a nice spot to unwind, albeit a little noisy, and the drinks despite the bad specials are pretty good. For me to score this place higher than a three—the wait staff needs a little more customer relations training and the food quality needs to match the price; right now it doesn’t.
They had great service, and the food was amazing! I will definitely go back again for dinner!
Great food & service!
Great restaurant after work or anytime. We were there on a cold wintery night and it really met the need for a warm meal!
The food is always great and the servers are very cordial. However the food takes an extremely long time to be delivered. It is not a good spot for a lunch hour but great for after work happy hour when time is not a concern.
The women's restroom was disgusting. The service and food were just okay. I wouldn't go back.
Kevin was an awesome waiter. Food was great service great. Thank you
My friend and I drove from out of town to enjoy a night here. We called 2 hours prior to reserve a table and was told that we could not reserve after 10pm because there was an event going on there but she said that we were still welcomed there. 5 minuets after arriving and paying a cover charge, we both noticed that the place was full of individuals of the same gender. This sparked a concern for us so we asked one of the workers what type of event it was and he replied in a laughing manner “it’s a gay event”. No shade to the LGBTQ community but as two single women, a gay event was the least of our expectations. You would have thought that the young lady on the phone would have considered explaining exactly what type of event it was or even the bouncer could have said “Ladies are you aware of the type of event this is?”.. NOPE, there was no consideration at all. They just took our money and let us be bamboozled. After asking for a refund of our cover charge and our drinks that we were unable to finish, they told us no we could not have a refund. We were so annoyed smh. I am giving this establishment a bad review because there just was no consideration at all and they did not assure us that this would not happen again. All we wanted was to enjoy good food, drinks and music smh.
Barcode is always the go-to place in the area for a quick lunch bite with friends. It's consistent food, the service is great (my glass is never less than half full) and the service is prompt.
Nice casual dining experience - food was surprisingly good (steamed mussels in wine particularly delicious)! Beer & wine at reasonable prices! Lobster role was very good - they claim to get fresh seafood daily and it tasted like it! Overall nice experience - not too flashy but good stuff,
Love this place. Great staff and great food. One of my favorite restaurants in DC.
It was a mix up with the table, but the food was Bomb. Worth $40, unlike a lot of these "brunches".
Nice, a little too loud
This is one of my favorite spot for brunch and dinner. Food is always good, great ambience and service
We had a great server and we shared an appetizer of grilled calamari which was great. We also shared mussels and a pizza which were also really delicious.
Great for lunch and also for drinks after work.
Excellent place to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal
I do not like giving bad review especially since I should have sent the food back. But other than the food the restaurant was great.
Always great food and atmosphere at BarCode. Thanks Moussa for always being a great host and server! WIll definitely be back cause you're only a block from me. My go-to restaurant any day of the week.
Valerie (and Annie)
Food was good. Service was so-so. Restrooms need some TLS - rusted toilet paper holders didn’t help.
Great Experiance! I love the customer service and great value with food! Used Groupon and it worked perfectly! My boyfriend enjoyed his birthday Dinner! We coming back again soon!
The service and food were unforgettable. Definitely a highlight to our D.C. Trip. Will make sure to stop by again next time we're in the area! The Chicken & Waffles and the Chocolate Lava Cake were a hit!
Had a nice experience. Ventured here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. He was pleased too.
Coffee wasn't fresh but the food was amazing! I had chicken with waffles, my friend had the salmon and for dessert the chocolate cake (worth the 15min wait). The Spinach dip with pita bread was also delicious!
Great night out. The meal was very good. Blackened organic chicken and fit mignon tipped pasta and chocolate lava cake. Excellent. Good service. The manager, Ashley, was very helpful.
This is a great Happy Hour spot also the food was Fantastic! Bought a Groupon otherwise would never have found this great place!
The Lovster Roll was the best I have EVER had!
There was a long wait for our food but that did give us time to catch up. Food was very delicious, prices might be a little over for the amount. Very nice waitress.
Barcode is a nice place to stop after work to enjoy a bite to eat and a few drinks. The room itself is not comfortable, but it is what it is. They have great happy hour specials which is why it is busy from 5 to 7. Although a bit loud, it is a nice place to meet friends and gather.
