On a Friday night at bar, before 7:00 pm they were out of all their draft beers were not available. Very, Very loud restaurant, so if that is what you are looking for this is the place. We were not looking for this.
Not a bad place to go to if you’re looking to eat dinner in a nightclub. Wrongfully advertised. More of a night club than an eatery.
The restaurant is grimy and in need of a complete renovation. The bathrooms have smudges on the walls and a sink was running. The table tops are chipped, the material on the seat backs is worn through to the stitching.
Although the food was good, the waiter was inattentive. My guest ordered shrimp and it was brought fried (although it did not say that on the menu) and the waiter never asked (must have just guessed wrong). It was replaced with broiled fairly quickly, but the guest had to wait while I ate.
Dope great place
Went for a wings whiskey and cigar event. Bad advertising. Waitresses where ghetto, dj played same songs over and over again. Cigar event with no cigars to purchase
Arrived early for my reservation only to find that they were on a limited menu. the only option available to me was pizza which I found to be sub par. although the crust was super thin the bottom was under cooked and the sauce was too sweet. probably will not be returning.
Excellent small plates.
My boyfriend and I went to check out Bar Code’s happy hour. I was a little taken aback by the club-like noise level and decor inside the restaurant, but I’m glad I stuck it out because the rail drinks were strong and the food was great.
We ordered steak tacos, sliders, and mac ‘n’ cheese. The steak tacos were delicious and generously portioned, and at $4 each a little bit of a steal for DC. The sliders were amazing. Bar Code managed to char the patties on the outside while keeping them juicy on the inside, and the buns were in good proportion with the meat. The mac was the only slight letdown, as it was made well, but could have used more seasoning, like some heat or even a little more salt.
All in all, I’m glad I braved the loud noise level and gave Bar Code a shot. I hope to be back soon!
I booked a very late reservation for when I arrived in DC but once I walked over there around 10:30 pm it was all closed up. Why is Barcode accepting Opentable reservations up until 11 pm when they are not even open?
This casual modern restaurant is a smart alternative if you want good pizza and food that won’t leave you broke. Was also surprised they have an impressive selection of wine. Solid service and good looking staff.
Went for a business meeting. The restaurant was loud for lunch time, and the food was sub par. The burgers were thin and smaller than the buns. The salads were small, and pretty boring. The side order of fries was fine, but pricey for the size of the order. Very few meatless options. From the design of the place, it seems their target is more of a night time, drinking crowd, which is fine. Just not what we were looking for. We did not order mixed drinks, so I can’t comment on those.
I loved the venue, however, I would suggest a happy medium for the music level so that you can actually talk and not yell while eating dinner. Otherwise, the DJ was on point! His playlist was the best I have ever heard. The food and drinks were also great.
Atmosphere was great, but the food was bland. Champagne brunch*
Went for restaurant week lunch. Server was nice and gave recommendations. However, no one ever cleared our appetizer plates when they brought entrees, and they brought out dessert when we were only half way done with our entrees and they tried to take away our entrees. Plus, we had several fruit flies flying around us while we ate.
Has great time here! DJ was great. Hookah available which was nice
Came here for a friend’s 30 birthday and didn't know what to expect, as it was my first time to a day party. Went to Brunch and day party on a Saturday and it was lit! Food is amazing! Music was crank! Staff was great!! I've recommended this spot to all my close friends and family!
Went for happy hour, waiter was amazing as he had to wait by himself all night. They were out of chicken nuggets for my children and nephew but they loved the grilled wings. Great energy with the DJ.....all in all I’ll return!
Went on a Tuesday for a business lunch. Meh. Just meh.
Hostess couldn’t have cared less if we were there. Server was an odd combination of overly familiar and rude. Food was only worth 80 cents for every dollar I paid.
It was a little loud, but fun. When the bill came, gratuity was included for a our party of JUST TWO, and it was more then 20% added. Despite the fact that we waited for our "reserved" table for over 35 minutes because there was no host or anything, all the staff was outside enjoying theirselves. The experience felt like we were being robbed, I would NOT return to bar code ever again.
This was a party/dinner reservation event. It was crowded, not a great ambiance, including the people and musics and when I checked in with the hostess, she looked at me and blew smoke out of her nose and mouth at the same time because she was sitting doing Hooka instead of working. She told me she wasn’t sure if she could get our table that we had reserved at 9p since they were all taken but then said she would try to move some people. Totally UNPROFESSIONAL, so we chose to leave instead of experiencing anything more disappointing. I will never go back there.
Got there for our reservation and all the tables were filled. The hostess was Rude, no real order. Over crowded
My only gripe was that I made a reservation and it was not honored! With that being said, I do understand that due to the weather and the amount of people there, the establishment was not prepared to accommodate the crowd. My friends and I made the best of it & with the help of the bartenders and the Dj, we had a good time.
You have to get here early if you want to sit down. I didnt get to taste the food because we never got to sit down. It was a day party, and we got in free, so hey cant be too mad. It was frustrating that the hoststess told us to make a reservation on here, which we did..twice, however never got a table. Maybe they could think of a way to enforce a time limit on tables. People that had tables never moved, even though they werent eating. The DJ was AWESOME so we did have a blast overall. Were foodies, so we were very disappointed we weren't able to eat.
We got there at 6:15 p.m. for a reservation and we left at 7:15 because we didn't get a table. This was a Saturday evening. I'm never reserving any tables on Saturday anymore. It's like they were giving out more reservations then what they had in tables. This was right after brunch, we were there for dinner.
Vincent or victor . Don’t remember the waiters name . He was really good and a sweetheart . The pesto chicken pizza and the wings were yummy !
Went there for the champagne brunch day party. Upon walking up I showed our tickets but was told that we didn’t reserve a table. I had called twice prior to the event and no one conveyed this information to me. Nevertheless we were told we had to eat outside until the day party began at or around 445. It was hot outside and my friends and I decided to leave shortly afterwards. The food was ok.
I will not be returning to this establishment. I can’t tell you how the food was, because no one ever came to my table to take our order. It was super loud and noisy, and jammed packed full of people. Our mistake was going on a night when anyone could get in from the free tickets. So just any and everyone was there.
While I thought we were going to have a nice adult experience at a lounge it was everything except that.
We had dinner reservations for 7pm. We were not seated until well after 8pm. Even then it took 45 additional minutes before a server even came to us to get us water.
We decided when they got there let's just place everyone's orders including multiple drinks at once because who knew when we'd see our server again.
Once the food arrived they didn't know who ordered what so we had to continuously pass things around the table.
When checks came, they gave checks to the wrong people, things we didn't order were on our checks in addition to a huge gratuity of $40 per couple, which is way over 18% seeing as how our bill was only $60 before the gratuity was added.
You can guarantee we won't be going anymore.
We went to Wings, Whiskey & Cigar event at Barcode on Saturday. This was my 1st experience with Barcode. I was not ready for the crowd & disorganization. People stayed over from brunch & the day party to where people having dinner reservation had to wait. My party of 2 waited for 52 minutes to be seated. Hot Mess!!!!
We waited an additional 15 minutes for a server to come. This was after the host walked by my table to ask if a waiter had stopped by to take our order. No silverware was given. Had to wait for an extended amount of time for everything we asked for. My husband & ended up sharing a paper napkin. Finally the wrapped linen napkins came. My drink came with no stirrer. I asked for one & the server bought it out (just bare not even on a napkin). Food was good...we had Bang Bang Shrimp, Grilled Wings & fries.
All I can say is if you go to Barcode, get your mind right for waiting.
Slowest service ever. Took 20 minutes to take drink orders. Everyone’s meal came out at different times. One meal was forgotten. Took 25 minutes to get the check after we asked for it. Restaurant wasn’t even busy. Pop was flat. No ice in drinks. More than 20% gratuity was added to checks.
I frequently go to Barcode for lunch with clients/business associates. The service is good but not intrusive.
Great food, happy hour, and service. Only was in DC 4 days and went twice.
The music was great and the hookah outside was great.
It was just a terrible experience, you did not have any ice, the waiter acted like he did not know what he was doing. They couldn't get our seating straightened out. It was a mess ,the music was a plus.
Our waiter, Ike was amazing! Our lunch took some time to come out but Ike apologized for the wait before we could even complain - which showed that he was proactive and caring about our comfort. Great atmosphere for catching up with friends without being drowned out by other diners.
Menu was great but the food was very bland. Brussel Sprouts were by far best dish we had. Restaurant had a strange lingering cigarette smell. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, was just an okay average place to eat.
I went during a day party. So the noise level was high but expected. For service I was told although I had reservations and was on time for them I may or may not get a table. They were understaffed. I ordered bang bang shrimp, guacamole dip, and a Sprite. I was only served the shrimp. The server never came back to our table although we were there for 2 and a half hours. He never gave me my drink. He provided warm water as we were seated and when asked for ice he said they ran out. It looked like a cool place to go so I would like to give them one more try on a regular day before I can decide if I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Make sure there isn't a ratchet party scheduled during your dinner. Overpriced menu, i.e. $12 for brussel sprouts.
Recently had lunch. Food was served cold twice. Wait staff was great but they don't have enough waiters and food obviously sits. I have noticed that the quality of the place has gone down over last six months.
