One of the steakhouses I’ve ever been to. A must dining experience if in Philly.
Took my boyfriend for a Father’s Day dinner & he loved it! Staff was very friendly & professional. Great place! I highly recommend
First time back in over 5 years; the food was outstanding, but this time the service was unfortunately slow and delivered with attitude, at a later time when the restaurant wasn't that busy.
It was a wonderful night. Our server was exceptional and the dinner was delicious!
The service was pathetic. Ask 3 times for glasses to read the menu but they didn't come till I asked the manager for a pair. Steaks were prepared perfect but the waitress / staff brought the wrong sides. Accepted them anyway, afraid it would take forever to get the correct ones. When I'm paying that price for a meal, I expect great food, great service and no attitude. Told the manager it would be the last time I would eat there even though she comped the meal. Better choice would be Butcher and Singer or the Capital Grill. Very disappointed.
Tables are a bit close together, but the food and ambiance is fantastic. I’d definitely go back. I highly recommend the Chilean Sea Bass...
The vibe in the lounge was more intimate than in the dining room and I found the decor of the lounge more appealing to my tastes, I was not a fan of the noise level or the bright green color scheme in the dining room. Also, progressive move with the unisex bathroom, always a nice thing to see!
Really had a terrific dinner, so comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in a fine dining establishment
Dinner was wonderful, our waitress was amazing & the atmosphere was perfect. My husband & I had a great time for my birthday.
We went to BP to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday and my husband’s 60th with friends. The atmosphere is lively and loud, but sophisticated at the same time. The rolls (more like puff pastry) were to die for. We ordered the wagu sliders to start which were meaty and delicious and salad, which was very good. Some of us shared the porterhouse steak, others got the filet. Steak was delicious and melt in the mouth tender. My son’s steak came out late because they had to redo it as it was overdone; this was the chef’s choice as he was not satisfied with it and insisted on cooking another. That was nice but my poor son ended up eating after we were finishing our plates, but the waiter removed it from our bill because of the delay., which was the proper and gracious thing to do. Sides we ordered were Mac and cheese, grilled broccoli, and whipped potatoes. All were delicious. Desert was a mix of the cookie sundae and the strawberry shortcake crème brûlé. Very yummy and over the top. The mixed fruit sorbet was a refreshing ending to a very rich meal. All in all excellent dinner. It was a bit noisy but festive. I do prefer the steaks at Butcher and Singer...I think they were just slightly tastier, and I prefer Butcher and Singers atmosphere, but the sides and dessert were much better at Barclay Prime. All in all a wonderful birthday celebration. It is certainly a great restaurant for special occasions.
Amazing meal, service, steaks, oh my!
Efficient and professional - great service -waitstaff, bartender, and greeters. Love the feel of the restaurant. I do not eat red meat and had the Branzino - excellently prepared. We will return again.....
We had dinner here for a family member's birthday. We shared the cheesesteak as an appetizer....it was so rich and flavorful...just melted in your mouth. Everyone should try it at least once! Three in our party had steak and the other had the crabcake, all of which were excellent. We had the mushrooms, tater tots and potatoes gratin for sides, again, all of which were delicious (especially the potatoes, which had a crunchy layer of cheese on top). We all had strawberry shortcake creme brulee for dessert, which was the best I have ever tasted. Our server was very attentive, polite and helpful, which made the experience even better. My only regret was not getting the truffle mac and cheese, which means I must go back again! I can recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
Very mediocre at best. It was a $100 experience that we spent $300 for. I sent my steak back and I’ve not done that in 40 years. It was tough and modestly tasty.
Service was great. I loved the guy..... but the experience was huge disappointment. I anticipated the evening for weeks. I won’t go back
In philly for business... have a young child at home so I haven’t been able to get out to dinner as much as I used to. Figured I would use this opportunity to grab some Wagyu. The food was good, the service was pretty good.
The food was very good. Service was just okay. Overly familiar and felt disingenuous.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, we drive from Baltimore here every so often.
It was my first time going to the Barclay. I like the soft seating . My food was fresh and full of good flavor. My server's name was Glen. He was very plesant to talk to. He explained the resurant way of serving and preparing food well. My experince was great. Dinner was spectacular and my drink the "Blind Tiger" was off the chain. Im going back for my birthday. ....
Continues to be my favorite spot in Philly. Food, drinks, service all top notch. Great place and I will be back!
Delicious food, amazing wine, and kind and attentive servers! I wish I could afford to dine here more often, but it is well worth it to go for a special occasion. I can't wait to go back! My steak was cooked to perfection and the popovers are outstanding!
Outstanding service, delicious steaks, a great layout in restaurant.
Steak was over cooked, drinks were watered down, ambiance is non existent with awful decor. For the price... you’ve got to be kidding me. Tier 2 and Tier 3 steakhouses in NY and LA makes this supposed Tier 1 look like Outback.
Outstanding! Best steak I’ve ever had... the A5 Wagyu Ribeye has ruined other steaks for me!
Our server, Matt T, was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and food were impeccable.
Superb dining experience as always!! This steakhouse is ranked #2 in the country for a reason. You want a steak that you will remember, Barclay Prime is where it’s at!!!
We were celebrating two birthdays. It was amazing!
Martini at bar was one of the worst Gimlets I ever drank couldn’t even fill the glass up for a 17 dollar drink tasted like lime juice.
Ordered a Manhattan it cost 32 dollars was just ok but the price was rediclous.
Dinner ordered the 40 day aged N.Y Strip on the bone and it was chewy throughout. My wife’s 28 day aged Ribeye was also chewy.
All in all very disappointed with this Steve Starr Restaurant.
Been to other 5 star restaurants this was one of the worst !!
Food was delicious! Tried the $120 dollar cheesesteak and it was tasty. Also had the lamb chops which were charred and seasoned to perfection. Great night out!
Everything was incredible
The nine in aged New York strip was excellent. Tender, flavorful. A reason to come back
Full menu in bar. Excellent wine by the glass selection.
Great food and the steak was perfect. I am particular about most steak locations and this one fit the bill. I am from Chicago, so I always have many options and Barclay Prime would rank tops anywhere. Tater tots were amazing too!
The fire alarm was sounding for 15 minutes or more. Loud recorded messages and sound effects. Unsettling during dinner. Not the restaurants fault, however it dampened the entire experience. Management should have offered a complementary drink or dessert as a compensatory gesture. But nothing. Expect more from an establishment such as this, and prices around $150 per person.
Our go to spot for special occasions. Very good.
Best food and best service I have experienced in Philadelphia.
The food and service were excellent at Barclay's Prime. It is pricey so best for a special occasion and while there was a mix, a lot of other guests were dressed well.
Every aspect of the experience was amazing! We tried the Wagyu Philly Cheesesteak for an appetizer and it was off the charts!!
The service and steak were terrible and unacceptable! We ordered a medium-rare Porterhouse steak, and the steak was pretty bad. One side of the steak was like medium well, and the other side was almost well done. After arguing with the waiter, he told us that it was normal for Porterhouse steak and it’s “common sense”. Such a rude service!!! Not only the steak was bad but also the service was totally unacceptable. Don’t understand why this steakhouse has so many good reviews. Avoid this restaurant. There are definitely other better options in Philly.
