Barclay Prime Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent as was the service (it was a bit busy when I went, not holding it against the establishment). One thing that did bother me is that someone came to box my food up so I could take home my leftovers and not all of my food made it home with me. It was at least half of what I left at dinner that actually made it into my to go box. A little disappointing as I was really looking forward to it. I hope this was just an isolated incident and not the norm.
Amazing dinner, best filet mignon in the city, beautiful evening all around in celebration of our anniversary. We arrived early and thought we'd check if we could be seated ahead of our reservation time slot. The hostesses were very pleasant and accommodating. Perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion!
Give Barclay Prime a try. I doubt you walk away unfulfilled. The service, ambiance, & food are nothing short of impeccable. Not the place to pinch pennies. Treat yourself to one of the Japanese Wagyu selections. The NY Strip I had was probably the best steak I’ve ever eaten. One of the places I try to make it to every time I’m in Philadelphia.
Best ribeye ever said my husband. Ate every bite. Everything was delicious. Tuna tartare, shrimp, wedge salad, broccoli, ribeye, king crab legs. Loved the tuna so much that I ordered a second. This was an amazing meal. The service was top notch. We would go back again just need to be prepared for the expense. The saying you get what you paid for was true. Expensive but incredible.
Love the atmosphere. Our favorite steakhouse in Philly.
I have been to BP a number of times and I have never left disappointed. This visit every thing was perfect. The food fantastic, I had the bone in NY strip it was done to a turn and melt-in-your-mouth tender. To start I had the Foie Gras fantastic! Before dinner I had an Old Fashion, one of the best I have ever tasted and I have tasted few. Our waiter was great knew the menu and his suggestions were right on target.
The food was good. Not enough for the prices. My steak was cooked perfectly on the inside but was a bit charred on the outside. When paying almost $100 for a steak I feel like I should never taste anything remotely close to burnt. The presentation was very well and the waiter was great very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
Good but not great. I have been to this restaurant many times since it has opened. I would say that the service quality and food (other than steaks) has declined. Our server was less than adequate, however the support staff were awesome. Steaks were perfect, but the sides and appetizers were boring. I expect a once in a life time experience when I come to Barclay's Prime but it did not deliver. Don't think I will be back.
Waited 20 minutes to be offered wine. When finally offered wine, Som brought the wrong wine and tried to open before we viewed the label. Overall, food service was not attentive for the top tier prices they charged. Such a shame that the kitchen works so hard to produce great food and the front house completely blows it to overshadow the meal. Happy to pay exorbitant prices for exquisite service and food, but such is not the case. They need to turn things quickly or it is lights out.
Very disappointed. We attended dinner for our anniversary. The table we were given was awful. It was out in the open in the middle of a high traffic area by the rest rooms.
As a table for two for a special dinner it made our evening very less special. The management had fake empathy when I asked for a quieter table we were told they had nothing better available even though we made the reservation as a special occasion anniversary.
Not sure if the price was worth it based on the fact that evening was not enjoyable due to terrible table location.
Why ask what type of evening if you are not willing to make it a special evening with a nice table location.
The friendly smiles and caring attitudes. come across as patronizing. considering the staff is not willing to actually handle a problem or fix a problem why act that you care
This was my 5th time at Barclay in less than 12 months and every time the steak tastes just a little bit better than I remembered. Earlier this year, I had the luxury of eating at Pappas Bros in Dallas on Monday, Halls Chop House in Charleston, SC on Friday and Barclay on the Wednesday following.
Suffice to say, Barclay's Allen Bros, dry aged Strip Steak is the finest cut, preparation and seasoning of the 3.
Add to that the amazing ambiance, the enchanting hostesses and a highly competent and welcoming staff and it was yet another experience for the books.
I will be back... maybe next month!
This was my first time at Barclay Prime and i enjoyed my times there. It was beautiful inside and comfortable. It was a little dark for my liking however i didnt mine. The food was very good everythingi tasted was Delicious. We had the salmon, roasted chicken, steak, grilled broccoli, bake potato, whipped potato, and the cream spanish. I would recommend this place to anyone.
