Great Japanese A5 Waygu steak. Family style sides and great seafood sampler
From top to bottom food and service were excellent. Greeted properly, and service was outstanding. She had a bubbly attitude and throughly knew the menu and preparation. The only off putting thing was being questioned about a special occasion by floor manager and server. It felt like we were being judged because we were the youngest in the room.
Great had fun great food
Jessica took great care of us. This is hands down the best steakhouse in Philly. Did BYO for first time with $35/btl corkage, may be the go to going forward. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Went for birthday celebration, and service was amazing... very impressed and satisfied with the meal ( the famous prime cheesesteak) omg! I forgot our server’s name but he is from Texas and served us well and put effort in going the extra mile to satisfy our needs!
Matthew was fantastic. Service and food was perfect
When there for a special occasion with my wife. The experience was perfect. The waiter was top notch, his recommendation and personal touch made it the best anniversary diner.
The food was absolutely amazing! This place has forever ruined normal steak for me. I’ve literally never put such good food to my mouth. Even the bread and butter was out of this world. Obviously, the meal was crazy expensive so not something I could afford on a regular but definitely will be returning on the next special occasion. Service was great and timely. Can only say good things about this place.
I dine out literally every night and always have. This was overall one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Quality of food and attention to detail in service were all on point. This is difficult to do, so the fact the restaurant was able to do this from start to finish was impressive and appreciated. Also appreciated that as a solo diner on business, I wasn’t treated differently in any capacity. (Many restaurants love to discriminate against those who eat alone- Hello Nobu!) Thank you for an enjoyable, memorable meal.
One of the best meals I've ever had...food, service and atmosphere were all outstanding
The best meal ive had ever imo. Been to many other steakhouses but this is my favorite now. The bread is literally crack. Steak was perfect and the truffle mashed potatoes are to die for.
Just wonderful ‼️
Delicious dinner with a fabulous ambiance. Celebrated my fiance's birthday and we will definitely be going back for a special occasion!
We came back after several years and it was so delicious! The bone in filet by far was the best steak I have ever eaten... the Kaluga caviar, well no explanation needed. I'll be back and Matt Penn I hope you are there.
Excellent service and very good food. Bone-in ribeye was perfectly cooked. Wine list a bit overpriced.
This was our first time at Barclay Prime, we celebrated our parents' anniversary. The ambiance was great, the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend their aged rib eye was amazing, as well as the Chilean sea bass. I would also recommend there cookie for dessert. Our waiter Glenn, was so wonderful. He was pleasant and didn't rush us and get us some great recommendations.
Great meal and everything tasted great.
Everything was perfect.
The best steak restaurant in Philly.
Amazing experience all around Would recommend the wagyu steak as an entree too. Great location and service
Best steak I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to many high end steak places
I went to Barclay Prime after seeing the restaurant on the travel channel. The feature was the $100 cheesesteak. My husband and I wanted to try it out. My husband passed two years ago and sadly never got there. It is my birthday so I decided to treat myself in memory of him. The food was delicious. The cheesesteak was everything! Mat, my server was so sweet and attentive. He made my birthday really special. I even got a free dessert for the occasion. Even though he didn’t know my story he really made this bittersweet visit a very pleasant one.
The food was absolutely delicious. Glen, our server was fantastic. Quite pricey, but I would definitely return for a special occasion.
Phenomenal service and food!! Expensive but worth it for special occasions.
Excellent food and excellent service. I would definitely return and bring guests...
After receiving a nice welcome from the hostess Maria, I entered the main dining area and it was elegant and well designed. The table setting was lovely and the seats were plush. The overall atmosphere was beautiful with sensational music playing in the background. The staff was spectacular, especially, my server Darlene. She was very attentive and very professional in providing outstanding service to me. Ian, also, helped increase my dining pleasure by both attending my table periodically and when he packaged my "to go" food items. A warm greeting and personal assistance came from the Manager Alex Tominski. The food was magnificent! The chop salad was delicious. My 32 ounce Porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection and the corn, I love, was fantastic. I plan to dine here at the Barclay Prime on a regular basis because, alone I sat at my table and I was in an eating paradise.
We enjoyed the fantastic bread, excellent meat and tater totes! We found the waitress slightly annoying. Lovely atmosphere and overall experience.
Everything was excellent. The service was spectacular and the food was even better. Can't wait to go back!
The experience began with a warm welcome and a very knowledgeable sommelier. The lobster cocktail was wonderful in amount and quality. Our entrees, lamb and strip steak were cooked as asked. The baked potato was a bit over baked, the broccolini was excellent. The price for the amount of food exceeded most high-end steakhouses, in our experience, but was worth the splurge.
Great food, great service - we had jumbo shrimp, crab cakes and steaks - all good; only grip is they need a better list of wines by the glass.
Food was excellent as always as was our water James
Beautiful room, not too noisy and tables space out well with very comfortable chairs. Our waitress appeared to have a few too many tables but did excellent job. Overall food was excellent- we didn't have room for dessert. Would return.
The food never disappoints, I had the Sea Bass take on NE clam chowder and it was wonderful.
Not sure of her name but our waitress was absolutely wonderful and cheerful.
We returned to BP for my daughter’s birthday after an excellent experience last year. The atmosphere and service were again impeccable. I was slightly disappointed with some of the food items, however. We started with an order of the Ossetia caviar for each of us to have a taste. The one ounce serving for $120 was just enough. Next were salads which were excellent. The waitress recommended a special A5 Wagu filet to my daughter for $140. My wife had the lobster poached in butter for $85. My daughter’s boyfriend had the dry aged filet and I had the dry aged NY strip steak, each of which were approximately $50. We also ordered several side dishes since everything comes ala carte.
The poached lobster was succulent and a large serving to boot. It was shelled and must have been at least a two pound lobster. The dry aged steaks were also excellent. My NY strip had the tender nutty flavor characteristic of a good dry aged steak. The Wagu filet, however, was average at best. It lacked the rich marbling one would expect from such a venerable cut. Two of the side dishes, the sautéed mushrooms and creamed spinach, were overly salty. For dessert we shared a creme brûlée. There was no candle even though we told the restaurant it was a birthday celebration.
The wine list was impressive but the markup was steep. I managed to find a good California zin which was more than triple the usual retail price. We consumed two bottles at $120 each.
Overall, BP is an excellent restaurant and it will definitely stay on my list for special occasions in Philadelphia. Our total bill with a 20% tip was almost $1,000. At such high prices, there’s no room for shortcomings.
Was a special occasion for my dinner there. Never thought I’d see myself in a restaurant like that knowing how much I’d spend. But it was worth every penny! Service and assistance from our server Matthew was impeccable. I have no words for the food. If I died the next day I’d be completely happy and satisfied! Every element of our experience from our hostess to the manager was the best!
Amazing everything, but the quality of the most expensive steak didn’t seem to vary for me from some of the cheaper cuts.
Perfect experience in every way
