Always good place to have a a fun relaxing night with friends. I would like to see little more real Spanish atmosphere. Not just latin music. Overall very good time.
Terrible service, inattentive staff, watered down drinks, dishes were way too sweet,
It was so so.
Place has great food, service wasn’t bad, but value was not as expected. Taste, temperature, flavor, and diversity of food was on point.
Nice choice of tapas
Reminds me of home! Love the food. This place never disappoints
The fish tasted spoiled.
Great service, delicious tapas food. Valentine’s date
Our waitress was great! She was quick even though they were super busy. The food was amazing, it’s a bit expensive whenever you add it all up but definitely worth it. Probably expect to pay around $30 per person. Had a great experience!
Excellent tapas/small plates. Best Ahi tuna ever, plus great pumpkin soup, wines, Spanish beer, etc. Only negative is the noise level from all the hard surfaces everywhere. A common problem with dining everywhere we go.
We all really enjoyed our meal at BARcelona. We had the paella and several small plates, all split 4 ways and had more than enough to eat. Our only complaint was that it was really too noisy. (But then, we think that's true with almost all restaurants these days.) If you are enjoying a wonderful meal with friends and family it would really be nice if one could hear each other and talk without straining our voices.
Good service and good food!
Good-tasting food that is not typical and filled us up at reasonable restaurant-week prices plus happy-hour drink prices still available with 6pm reservation. Wait staff was attentive. My tablemate would have liked the soup even hotter. Group of women seated at table next to us was loud. Parking in downtown Clayton takes time to find on a Thursday evening.
Music was at times a little too noisy, and my daughters meal was not hot enough. Otherwise everything was at its usual quality.
Our favorite tapas restaurant in St. Louis! Plenty of options for everyone whether you want hot, cold, vegetables, meat, healthy or comfort food. Save room for the tres leches cake. Reservations recommended, especially on the weekends.
We made a last-minute reservation for NYE and when we arrived, one of the party expected something different and almost made us walk out. So glad we stayed because the food and drinks were delicious. The dining room cleared out and our server kindly turned off the extremely loud music. We ordered the tortilla, mussels, shrimp, artichoke, lamb which we found was enough for 3 adults. Everything was delicious. Service was quick. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town.
Casual, fun place for Sangria and Tapas! Service was fast and friendly, fun atmosphere.
Selection of "authentic" Tapas is limited with most dishes simply swimming in one tomato sauce or another which masks the flavor of the food (potatoes, cheese, chicken, etc) rather than enhance it. Sangria is also unforgivably weak and the service is just poor.
It was a little cold in the restaurant but I was near a window. The noise level is quite loud... not in a horrible way but a few tweaks could be done to the acoustics. We brought some friends and it was their first experience and they loved the food. It is a great place to share an experience.
Food was amazing! Everyone was pleasant and very attentive!
39th wedding anniversary and our first time to dine here. We’ll be back! Good service, good food, good company. Thank you!
The goat cheese dip was very good. The steak medallions with blue cheese should have been so much better. The sauce was just not a good combination with the meal. The roasted cauliflower was absolutely flavorless.
Everything was delish!!!
First time there. We had a great experience. The food was great and the service awesome. Very reasonably priced.
Our group of six very much enjoyed our Barcelona experience. The food and service were very good. We shared plates. The paella was more than enough for 2-3 people to share. Great sangria. Fun atmosphere. We sat in the bar area which was loud but ok. We definitely recommend.
No hostess at the stand and was not very welcoming. Food was great though, and our waitress noted it was our anniversary and comp’d our dessert, which was appreciated. The welcome was not appreciated, but I will give it another chance.
We were not impressed. Having lived in and travelled to Spain, the taste is way off. I liked the energetic atmosphere, but definitely did not like their food. If I were to return, I would only get the Estrella Beer on draft and probably couple it with some jamon Serrano with bread. It would be really hard for anyone to screw up that combination.
Great place, easy to work with and very accommodating of a large business happy hour group, we will do that again.
Very disappointed. This was recommended by a St Louis native. I should know better.
Tried 3 appetizers and a paella. Sautéed mushrooms tasted like right out of the can, served in the water from the can. Shrimp in chili sauce were small low quality tasteless. Paella was bland, like saffron rice and no other spice. Chicken in paella was too tough to eat.
We used to look forward to our visits to Barcelona and last 3 times have been so disappointing. Food quality has gone the wayside.
Had a great time with our friends while visiting Clayton during the Art Fair however the restaurant was really over priced for the quality and quantity of food. Our bill was close to $300 with only a pitcher of sangria, and two additional drinks. Very pricey and we were still hungry after leaving.
We had reservations and were seated outside. We waited awhile before anyone even acknowledged us. Service was spotty after she finally came to our table. The mushrooms tasted like canned mushrooms and were barely editable. The Tuna was overcooked. The cauliflower was ok but not great. The steak was fatty but the best thing we had. The inside of the restaurant had a terrible stench so I’m glad we sat outside. At least the weather was nice. We will not return.
The reservation did not go to the correct restaurant, even though the address was correct. Luckily, they fit my group of 7 in. Had the reservation been correct, I could have awarded 5 stars.
I have never been rushed thru a meal as I was the other night at Barcelona .
We had a family of 5 eating. Looking forward to a nice leisurely meal after a busy day. Thought some good food and drinks were in order to linger over. Instead we walked out after a briskly served 50 minute meal. Food was served before our sangria arrived. Not going back.
Was a little difficult with a group of 8. Sharing small plates becomes a task instead of pleasure. Food and service good. Better for smaller group.
I really enjoyed BARcelona - I just wish they specified that HH deals are ONLY in the bar prior to seating us. If a girlfriend and I are meeting up for HH, we're specifically looking for HH deals. So to be seated and start ordering only to be told we don't get those deals where we are is kind of lame.
Great live music... Chef is very social and interacts with customers.
