The overall quality of the food and selection was good. It's now obvious the owner is not involved in day-to-day operations because his great concept and menu is now being tainted by the terrible cleanliness and bad service. The price of $154 for 4 people is high but if the service and condition of the restaurant would have been great, we would have never left a had comment.
Nice place but poor quality food, not even close to Barcelona or eatable tapas.
It was a little noisy (and I'm sure our group with three kids didn't help), but the food was outstanding. I loved that the vegetarians in our group could split plates, no problem. The sangria is amazing!
Brunch is consistently fun and casual with a good buffet with slight variations and desert with Tres Leche cake. The service today was extra awesome. The french toast is always the favorite if the dishes available to order.
Great service. Food was wonderful as always! Drinks were great! Our server was happy and fun!
My husband and I recently moved from the Chicagoland area to Indianapolis. We are excited to try new restaurants. We were getting together for dinner with another couple so we thought Tapas would be fun. My sister ordered Paella and the rise was undercooked. We sent it back to the kitchen and the cooked it some more. The wine was good the Sangria was watery. Other than that the food was good. The Spicy Goat Cheese was delicious. Service was good. So overall it was a nice time. I'm not sure if I will come back. I wasn't wowed. Also, I noticed that the food runners were all Minorities and the Waitstaff was white. This is NOT acceptable. Having moved here from a multicultural area, I was taken aback by this!
Always a pleasure to eat Tapas with friends and family at Barcelona Tapas. Love the sangria!
My husband and I went during the Devour Indy summerfest and Barcelona Tapas did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely delicious, would definitely recommend to anyone!
The food tasted fabulous, but the service was slow and the food came out at awkward intervals. We had courses 2-4 before the appetizer arrived and had to remind the waiter that we hadn't received dessert. Food was great. Service was not great and it wasn't crowded.
Food was excellent. Service was adequate. Will go back
Always enjoy this place; the devour downtown menu had very nice selections.
Nice selection of small bites as well as entrees. The food was brought out hot and the flavors were very good. We loved the goat cheese and red sauce dip with garlic bread. The Spinach salad was my favorite and large enough to share. Made to order drinks were very good. Will definitely go again.
Wonderful well priced food as always. This is a must stop restaurant every time we are in Indy.
Seemed like the restaurant had not prepared for local convention in town. 1 server for 12 tables! It took 50 minutes to get our drinks. Eventually the kitchen came out to take orders and help. Eventually the restaurant was back on track but not before patrons were upset.
I'd been to this restaurant before, so I'm not sure what happened. On several occasions, we had to remind our server/waitstaff of items we'd ordered but hadn't received. At one point, we were told the kitchen was "backed up," even though the restaurant was only moderately busy. I ordered a cup of coffee at the end of the evening that was brought out ice cold. We were then informed by our server that she forgot to ring in the coffee and a glass of Cava my friend ordered when she brought the final bill. She obliged my request to leave the cold coffee off, but honestly - if you forget to add something to the bill, that's your problem, not mine. The women's restroom was also completely out of toilet paper. The food was fine, but overall, it was not a good experience.
Mediocre or slightly below average. The sausage was the best item we had and it was good not great. The meatballs were dry and the sauce was very normal. The croquettes were bigger than I'd like and the texture was chunky rather than creamy. Would not go again expect maybe for soccer one morning bc I heard they put games on.
Taking daughter back to college
Always great food and great service!! Michael is great!!
All staff members know tapas!!!
Amazing food and and amazing waitstaff!
Went to BARcelona Tapas for a down town date with my wife. We both like authentic international cuisine-this place did not disappoint! They have a pretty extensive drinks menu, but the main thing we went for was the food. Def try the goat cheese dish that comes with garlic bread! And for sure get a dish of paella! We plan to go back next time we're down town.
i ate at Barcelona Tapas while I was visiting Indianapolis and I was happy to find a non-chain restaurant in downtown. the food was great and the service and atmosphere were excellent. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant.
The paella tasted like something I would make at home. It was bland and tasteless.
It's a tapas restaurant, so it's hard to give a complete review on food since we had only a small portion of the menu. What we had was not impressive though. The wings were skimpy, overly cooked, had feathers, and had a sauce we were not fond of. The garlic bread seemed like it was a simple sandwich bun with a light brushing of garlic butter. The seared tuna was okay. it was not presented well on the plate (I consider presentation important at a tapas bar) but it got better when I put it in my mouth. The mushrooms were the best thing we had, and they were in a very large portion. I'd recommend anyone who goes, to get the mushrooms first and pair it with some of the red meat tapas. That way, if they are mediocre, you can pair the meat with the tasty mushrooms.
The most fun we had was noticing the probably first date from Tinder. The couple gave an awkward almost hand shake into hug to start and seemed to try to talk to each other and drink a pitcher of Sangria. They didn't stay for long, but maybe they had a movie to go to.
Meal was just OK. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad. We had the chicken wings & it was OK, kind of bland. Had the cauliflower & spinach - that was good! The garlic shrimp was also good. The pepper tuna tasted frozen & overcooked. Overall, not a bad experience but not a great one either.
It had been several years since I was last in Indianapolis, and the food was as good as I remembered.
The food was very good and the service was excellent... we will be going back again!
One of our favorite restaurants in town. Great selection of small plates. Highly reco.
Went here for 23rd wedding anniversary dinner get-away day 😀👍. Waiter was excellent- helped us pick out apps and entrees- took time 2 explain and recommend! Great flavors! Unique tastes! Great place!
Not nearly as good as the last time we went 2 years ago, decidedly average at best....very disappointing.
Father's Day
We have been coming here for years. Brunch was always one of our favorite times to come. The price went from 17.95 to 24.95. They said it was because they had more choices for Father's Day. We had already discussed that we thought there was less choices so that comment was a surprise. We thought most of the food was dry or had been sitting there so long it dried out. Won't be returning for brunch! Hopefully the dinner time tapas is still as delicious as it was and the prices haven't changed! Disappointing trip!
Excellent food and service! Made my Father's Day celebration awesome!
We weren't impressed at all by the food. Had three different things and none of them was particularly tasty. Two of the dishes (goat cheese and patatas bravas) seem to use the same canned sauced as base. The cod and potatoes cakes were mostly potatoes.
The atmosphere and decor are nice. The lamb chops were good. All in all the food was good, but not like authentic Spanish food. We had asked that they stagger the tapas so we could eat them one at a time, but they brought them all out at once. I wouldn't recommend the potatas bravas if you're used to traditional.
It took our group of 8 about 2.5 hours for our meal, because service and then paying for our bill took longer than expected. Food tasted good though. Expected something for the birthday celebration, but there was no dessert or singing.
Mother's Day with the whole family and sharing the food. Definitely easy to please all the different tastes of our newly expanded family.
Mother's Day
Enjoyed the Sunday brunch with my family! Tres Leches French toast was amazing. Highly recommend!
Wonderful Mothers Day Brunch! Great service and delicious food!
Delicious food, excellent service. I've never had a bad experience! Make sure to get a pitcher of delicious sangria along with the Paella Valencia! A must-have!
