Food was great. We had the restaurant week special lunch. The chicken and the beet salad. Doug was our server and he was great
We had a table up against a fence on a slanted sidewalk, it was awkward & uncomfortable to eat... but everything else was great.
We went for restaurant week as a double date and sat outside. The food was absolutely delicious. Decent deal for restaurant week. Food came out pretty quickly and atmosphere was nice for a week night in Center City.
Food was amazing as always. Cocktails delicious. Great job with socially distant outdoor dining. Thank you!!
The food was amazing! My boyfriend and I both thought the restaurant week menu was great and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. However, our service was overall disappointing. It took 45 minutes for us to order our food after being seated. Our server even admitted to forgetting about us when she finally did come over. While the food was amazing, being forgotten will likely keep us from coming back
This a place we love to dine at. Went for Restaurant Week and ate outdoors due to the pandemic. 13th Street was closed to traffic, but the noise level was high. The food was outstanding and was generously portioned for Restaurant Week. The meat balls were well prepared and the sauce delicious. The roasted corn aroncini was outstanding. Crisp balls covering moist and flavorful arborial rice and cheese. The bronzino was perfectly prepared with crisp skim and moist texture. The rigatoni with pork ragu was rich in flavor with the pork tender. The Budino for dessert is my wife's favorite. Service was friendly, but slightly less attentive than usual; probably due to staffing realities of the pandemic world. Truly an enjoyable meal.
I’ve been to barbuzzo numerous times but my last visit was horrible. Granted it was restaurant week, I’ve been a frequent restaurant week diner and this was by far one of the worst experiences. Drinks were so watered down, my boyfriend had to order a second, just plain bourbon on the rocks, which was also completely watered down, and no it wasn’t because of the ice. Our server forgot about our food (one of our apps didn’t come out until we pointed it out when we were served the main course). His response was “Oh, I’ll grab it”. No apologies or anything. Entrees (pasta) came out cold and we had to send them back, again with no apologies. This used to be one of my go to restaurants but I haven’t been since pre-covid. I know the industry has suffered immensely and I want to support, but it’s difficult with that experience.
We did Restaurant week $35 3 course dinner, all the food was amazing and we made it in for Happy Hour and included a couple of drinks & appetizers @ $5 each. The Focaccia was amazing with pesto, fresh tomatoes, & onions. The meatballs were exceptional with mozzarella cheese in the middle, I enjoyed the Sunday Rigatoni with slow cooked pork (though a little salty for my taste, and my date had a Grilled chicken with a pesto that was phenomenal!! Unfortunately our main meals did not arrive together, and service was adequate but not great, waiter wasn’t pleasant, helpers cleaning up empty dishes and tables were more talkative. I tipped 25% which during these times would of been 40% had the waiter stepped up his game. Overall Exceptional Food, with different tastes that pleases our palate and took us on a food journey. I definitely would recommend Barbuzzo and will be back. Beet & Kale Salad and Tiramisu also were Excellent.
I keep coming back to Barbuzzo.
We had dinner outside and it was lovely. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Lovely outside seating - a little noisy, but staff was friendly and efficient. Felt very safe- no touch menu on your phone was a really nice touch. Drinks and food were wonderful. Will return soon.
We had a wonderful experience! We sat on the sidewalk on a gorgeous night. Our server Chris was fantastic. He was attentive and not at all invasive. Each plate was coursed by itself so my husband and I could really enjoy each one. The octopus was absolutely delicious! Probably our favorite of what we ordered. We also had the gnocchi, tomato salad and the Bronzino which were all beautifully plated and delicious. Finished the meal with the Budino...do not miss it! So good. Thank you so much for a great night out!
Inconsiderate hostess and lousy server. Go elsewhere. There are countless places on the street.
I love this restaurant one of the best in the city. Amazing food and great service.
Our server Christopher P. was extremely rude and forgot 2 of the food items we ordered. Instead of being apologetic he laughed about it. Then I didn’t realize he also didn’t charge us for the additional food that needed to be rung in after we paid the check and instead of explaining it to us he acted like it was our fault we hadn’t paid the additional bill which he didn’t bring over until we were walking away. Extremely poor service and will not return.
I like this restaurant. The food was great and the waiter was very good. My issue is I booked a reservation a week in a advance to meet a new business contact for the first time. After arriving on time for our reservation, the host did not great any of the 10 people waiting outside on a crowded side walk about their reservations. As we stood outside with our masks on awkwardly meeting each other for the first time.....we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. I know it's a tough time for restaurants and I try to eat out almost every day to support them.....but it's also important to meet customer expectations. I will definitely go back....but the reservation and seating system needs to be improved.
Barbuzzo is holding up its standards, for quality of food, attentive service and ambiance (considering outside dining in the street).
Enjoyed our food very much!
We have a lovely night out while taking COVID precautions. Tables were well spaced out. Staff was masked and everything felt protected. There were men on the street corner playing music and it was a lovely addition to the experience. Highly recommend the watermelon margarita! Crispy Bronzino was a filet and delicious. We also shared a margarita pizza. Food was wonderful and highly you try it out.
Had gone somewhere else first and left due to poor service. Should have gone here first!
Great experience. Will definitely go back.
Amazing food and waiter was great. Hostess was incredibly rude. System for arriving for reservations is at the same table as takeout pickup and there are no signs or instructions. Seems like helping customers when they are asking for direction rather than shouting at them would be better for the restaurant. Once we were seated, everything was great.
Was just sitting in the outside area with curb and sewer
water all around our feet. 🧼🚮
I loved the outdoor dining experience here! Our server was the best and really knew all the details for what to order. I loved the cocktails In pouches and the funghi pizza! A relaxing and wonderful experience☺️
I went there with my boyfriend on Chinese Valentine's Day. We were deciding between Dandelion (which is my current fav) and Barbuzzo which I saw has very high ratings from OpenTable. Then we went with this restaurant that's new to us.
So we ordered the Grilled Octopus, Corn Aranchini, Watermelon salad, Pan Seared Gnocchi, Grilled Pork Belly and the Caramel desert that everybody was raving about. For drinks, we got the Berry Spritz and Beer of the Day from Happy Hour Menu for $5 each.
I feel that Barbuzzo would be pretty reasonably priced if ordered correctly, esp. during happy hours. However, I think we ordered way too much and two of the dishes didn't even look different.
Honestly speaking, nothing tastes bad except the watermelon salad(which we can't appreciate). However, our complain is that all the dishes taste/ look very alike. We basically just ordered the food that people recommend here at OpenTable and didn't go courageous or anything. However, the seasonings are just very alike. We really enjoyed the first two dishes, but started getting bored after that.
The environment of the street dining wasn't the best, we were sitting very close to puddles of water. Our waitress was very nice tho.
With all that said, the Aranchini and the Gnocchi is the best I've ever tasted, even better than those Italian Fine Dinning place.
The food was amazing. The focaccia and octopus was delicious. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
Great for lunch !
Food was prepared perfectly: hot & fresh. Server ((Beca) was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend B our your Philly dine out list.
Great food, cocktails, & service, as always!
Street noise was a little loud, but to be expected for the area.
Amazing food and great outdoor dining experience
I loved that the server didn’t tell us he going to “take care of us tonight”
Food is always great. You can never go wrong with anything on this menu.
Bring back the bone marrow!
Grilled octopus was excellent! Many other great apps, etc
Outdoors fun; easier to get a table then El Vez and basically same spot!
Pork Sandwich was fantastic. Wine choices were great, even at lunch time. Great set up outside for COVID. Well done!
awesome service & food!!!
We came to barbuzzo twice in one week! Loved both experiences. Enjoyed the ricotta and and burrata this time as well as a pizza. Josh our wonderful server suggested the bourbon mint pouch which was delicious. Steph our amazing server from earlier in the week delivered our food and even remembered us. Stand out service and food both times. It is a busy street but if you are use to living in a city you should be fine.
Wonderful food. I have celiac, and they altered the branzino fish so I could eat it. It was amazing! We were seated on Sansom St-think they should talk the city into closing the street off in evening so they could add tables.
The service was quick; our waiter was lovely and the food was well done and absolutely delicious!
Get the watermelon salad!!!! Mike Joyce has always done great things, it’s awesome that he’s here
The service was amazing. The food was delicious. Will recommend and come again.
