The host was dismissive to us for not having a mask even though the mask mandate is over. The female waitress was short tempered and rude to us and we had to seek her our twice for service help. The pizza was very good - thin crust and full of flavor.
Great good, excellent for a date night. Small plates are great for sharing.
We were there when they opened at 4, and though there were 9 employees, it took 10 minutes for our order to be placed. A flaw in Yelp’s system is they should differentiate between restaurants by stars; a five-star is not equal to a three-star. This shouldn’t be the #1 restaurant in Philadelphia with so many world-class restaurants in the area. It was very good with fresh ingredients, but the pizza was over cooked a bit. It remains a great little place that’s affordable.
It was 97 outside. Not sure why they would open windows and doors instead of AC
Other than the heat it was perfect
Me and my girlfriend loved everything. The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. The price is beyond affordable. Great place for date night.
Great food and service as always. Probably need to add some fans or something to cool off outdoor diners
great brunch, quick & easy. Staff was nice and we're accommodating for an infant
My fiancée really liked it.
Small but delicious plates. Papas Fritas are good but don't be afraid to get more adventurous! The staff was fun and accommodating!
Not at all what we expected. Disappointing to say the least. The service, food quality, cost and general experience did not meet expectations.
Wonderful food in a great atmosphere.
A soul Utley wonderful. One of our favorite places in Philly.
Excellent food and service
Everything was great!!!
I went for restaurant week with a friend. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. I would definitely go back to sample their full menu.
We went for restaurant week. The food was amazing! Love the meatballs, burrata, and bronzino. Also ordered the octopus appetizer from the main menu. I will definitely go back just for that! Their outside dining is fabulous.
I wrote in the notes it was my fiancees birthday. Was hoping the waiter was told that I notated it in my reservations. I didn’t buy a cake this year for her birthday since we had this planned. Guess she won’t be blowing out candles for her birthday this year..
Back in the city for dining. Everything perfect!!
great food, great ambiance. reasonably priced, great location
The food was amazing and the service was very quick. The drinks were so refreshing and not overly sweet. Over all an amazing dining experience I would absolutely come back again.
Excellent dinner. The street was smelly and very busy, but that's what you get when you dine outside during covid. Tha food was delicious and plentiful, the drinks were robust, and the wait staff was excellent!
Always a pleasure to return time after time to Barbuzzo!
Went on a first date during restaurant week. Staff was kind and knowledgeable and very very accommodating. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere, the wine, and the food. The food was 4 stars, I think just a classic touch of s&p or something acidic like a lemon wedge would have really made it 5 stars.
We started with Arancini balls and the kale beet salad, the preference was actually the salad! Then branzino, which was cooked perfectly and had a great pesto sauce. We also ordered the vegetarian spring spaghetti which was the best dish we had here. Ended with a couple of desserts which were so-so.
Overall though, would probably eat here again and would recommend for a casual date out.
The food at Barbuzzo is absolutely fantastic. It is normally one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and I was very excited to eat there. Unfortunately, my friend and I had a terrible experience with the manager over a miscommunication on the restaurant's part, so we left without eating.
We had made a confirmed outdoor reservation earlier in the day with a different manager, who gave us a table that is typically reserved for walk-ins. The manager offered to make an exception, and we were very grateful. When we arrived for dinner, the evening manager refused to accommodate us outside, indicating that there was nothing in our reservation that said we had an outdoor reservation, and we could only be seated inside. We asked if we could be moved to the top of the waitlist for an outdoor table, since it was clearly an internal miscommunication, and the manager repeatedly refused in a rude and dismissive manner. He told us that if we insisted on waiting for an outdoor table, we would be put at the bottom of the waitlist and probably wouldn't be seated at all. The manager was actively rude, unhelpful, and refused to resolve the issue in a professional way, given that the mix-up was not our fault. We chose to leave because of his behavior, and the experience really soured me on the restaurant, which has been one of my favorite places for years.
We were outdoors and it was very pleasant. The food was great!
We came during restaurant week so we had a 3 course meal for $35. The food was good. To our surprise what we ordered was pretty healthy and delicious. We appreciate that a ton. We sat on the second floor and had a view of the street which was nice.
We had a reservation made 2 weeks before and when we came we asked to be seated 30 min earlier due to time constraints with parking. The restaurant had most of their tables unoccupied but set yet they told us to come back later as they “just opened”. At the same time they sat a group of patrons without reservation right in front of our eyes. We then asked again to be seated earlier and they agreed and gave us the worst table right next to all the passerby’s on the sidewalk. We asked to change the table but were told this is the only one they had for us very rudely despite ALL the tables standing empty and us having reserved two weeks ahead! I think the waitress was antisemitic as she turned this way after having seen our Jewish last names. After that we spoke to another waiter who agreed to accommodate us and everything was ok after that but the rude antisemitic waiter completely spoiled our whole experience at this restaurant. There are plenty of good ones in the area - please skip this one.
This place is now one of my top three favorite restaurants in the city! We went during restaurant week. Food and service were excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. We had the arancini, meatballs, sausage pizza, whipped ricotta, and Ragu pasta. And for dessert we had the budino and tiramisu. The tiramisu was just OK but the budino was out of this world!!
The restaurant week menu was different than what was advertised and we ended up with one less course. There is no from the chef portion, like instagram advertised just 3 days before our reservation. The service was dull and uninterested, especially when I brought it up.
The waitress didn’t tell us about the happy hour drinks, when we asked she said” that’s only for outside and there’s only 8 min left anyway” Ridiculous, why have it outside only !!
Visiting from out of the area, and asked our physician for a recommendation-we we’re not disappointed! Try a pizza, and any of the desserts-you will thoroughly enjoy them!
Took forever for a server to come but the food was amazing
Everything was great, except the service. The food was delicious and creative. Nice options. The waiter was impatient and couldn’t care less about serving us.
We ate outside so the noise level was high due too street traffic. However, it was a beautiful night to be outside!
Went for restaurant week and liked every single dish. Great cocktails too!
It was a great experience and the waitress was really nice and super helpful. The octopus was great too.
We were seated in a cute, little pod out on the street. It was cozy and COVID safe, but a little stuffy with poor air flow. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic! We had delicious cocktails...a Negroni and a Basil Lemonade. We started with the Chicken Liver + Foie Gras Mousse, which was divine and then we shared the Spring and Roasted Beet salads. Both salads were refreshing, earthy and dressed perfectly! For our main course we shared the Estrella and Grilled Spanish Octopus. The Estrella was cooked wonderfully al dente and the octopus was a nice accompaniment to it as it was more fresh and salad-like. All of this was enjoyed with a nice, chilled bottle of sparkling Lambrusco! Overall, a great experience! Highly recommend!
Quick service. Good food.
The food was creative and tasty. and nice presentation.
The kale beet salad was short on the beets, oranges and pistachios. Beets need to be larger and taste more roasted. They were watery and small.Too heavy on the kale.
Meatballs were very tasty.Sauce had a mild zing.
Ricotta cheese appetizer was interesting, but not particularly flavorful. Perhaps a chunkier fig inclusion would be more satisfying and the ricotta not whipped into a puree.
Bronzini was interesting, fish was tasty, but the pea, radish, fennel, asparagus accompaniment not my cup of tea.
Would have enjoyed sides of a flavorful potato creation, or rice and vegetable.
Terrible service, they were clearly in a hurry to kick us out. Good food but the service and ambiance destroys the experience. Went a few years ago, won’t be coming back
