Love the menu - not run of the mill ingredients. Fresh and healthy.
It was an office lunch out for 4. We had a noon reservation. The restaurant was 1/3 full. Our waiter was attentive and understood our issue for needing to be back at work by 1:30 as well as our companion’s gluten allergy. I had the farro salad. It was very good. Small portion, but I was glad of that. I had to have the salted caramel budino which is insanely delicious. You must try it. One of us got the margherita pizza - it was cut into sixths and I had a piece. It was ok. A bit chewy. Another had the branzino and LOVED it. The 4th had the beet salad and loved it. My only real criticism was that the salad meals came out first and it was a full 5-10 mins before the pizza came, and another few mins for the branzino. I love this spot. Wish it was a bit wider!! Recommended.
A tried and true for lunch, but I was disappointed to see more pizza and sandwiches and fewer pasta options recently. The cheese plate is always a hit. I wish there were a green salad. The dishes are often too salty, but we curb that by asking them to go easy on the salt. Atmosphere is nice, but cramped seating. Decent wine by the glass selection. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive.
Very good food. Fun social ambiance
Always great food and service
Second time there, still blown away by the food. Absolutely love it there.
Best food in the city. It’s not cheap but it’s really not expensive. Such great value. My girlfriend and I love it here as well as Lolita and will continue to come back. We can’t wait to try Bud and Marilyn’s next.
Great food and service. Small plates which were great to share. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
My boyfriend and I went to Barbuzzo for Valentine's Day dinner. Ambiance was okay--we were seated at a community table, which was also a bit wide, so we felt kind of far apart, and that caused it to not feel as intimate as I would have liked. There was no note (that I saw, it is possible I missed it) when making the reservation that we may be seated at a community table, so that was a bit disappointing. Our server was friendly and considerably attentive for how busy they were. The food, overall, was very good. The shared whipped ricotta was FANTASTIC. The middle two courses were pretty good--I enjoyed my roasted winter squash course, but wasn't a fan of the lobster ravioli, which was much spicier than I expected, so it just wasn't for my taste. My boyfriend wasn't crazy about his duck and pistachio second course, but his scallop dinner was very tasty! For dessert I had the salted caramel budino, and it was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend had the tiramisu which was also very good. The two best parts of the meal, both of which I highly recommend, were the whipped ricotta and the salted caramel budino. We will be going back to order those things again!
Fantastic food and service
Price fixes menu read great but was disappointing. Salad was limp and overdressed, pork osso bucci was pedestrian and the sorbet tasted like the freezer. Almost 300.00 for 2 with drinks..not worth it.
This is an old favorite of ours but we made the mistake of coming on Valentines Day, when the priced fixed menu may have been easier for the staff and kitchen, but left us feeling slightly short changed for $75 per person. There was a factory like feel and we wished for other menu items. Our seats were near the entrance, so it was extremely cold the entire time. That alone made the experience hard to enjoy. It’s unfortunate that we are soon to move out of the city, so this will be our last impression of one of the more solid restaurants on our list. If this review could be helpful, I would recommend opening up a few a la carte items on special nights and a heater above the entrance in winter. Besides that, the service was friendly, efficient, and the meal was good, not epic.
It was awesome - the food was amazing and the romantic atmosphere was incredible!
Sure, I'd recommend Barbuzzo, but makybe not for Valentine's Day. The prix fixe menu just didn't seem worth the price ($75/person!). The scallops were outstanding and our server was wonderful, but overall the food was a bit salty and, and for the price, I expect a meal that is transcendent. Still, it was a lovely dinner, and I'd return on a regular evening during which I could order off the full menu.
Great valentines dinner as expected super busy little restaurant
I met friends for lunch on a rainy day. It was quiet and not terribly busy. The food and service was as usual - very good.
Tables are very close which is a big negative for me. However, the staff was friendly enough & those around us, obviously, content to be there for lunch. Therefore, the ambience is pleasant, though a bit noisy. We return because we know what to expect.... good service, excellent quality of food & reasonable Center city prices. It is a treasure.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food. We will be sure to return.
Amazing! Very cozy place, and excellent food! My friend and I got the ricotta cheese and mushroom toast for apps, highly recommend both. For dinner we got the tanglitelle and risotto, both medium sized plates and both very good. The dessert menu looked so good but we were too full to try any, but definitely on my list for next time. The restaurant has a very nice ambience and great atmosphere, more of a small quaint restaurant. Would be a great place for a date or to catch up with a friend. Service was also excellent, and they bring out food as soon as its ready too. Highly recommend!
Everything was really delicious! It was noisy, but not so much that you could not hear each person at the table. The fact that it was packed on a Monday night shows that others were as impressed as we were.
Great food! Service was excellent! The value was worth it an fair. Thank you! Great experience.
Excellent as always
The food was fantastic! Shared the meatballs, beet salad and the ricotta. Everything was delicious. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Also recommend the salted caramel budino for dessert. Definitely coming back.
Service was excellent, food ranged from ok to pretty good, space was extremely tight and chairs were uncomfortable. They use a heavy curtain to separate the entrance from the restaurant, but when the door opened a blast of cold air would hit. There’s twice as much seating as the space could really comfortably manage.
Great food, innovative dishes and nice vibe
A little loud so difficult to carry on a conversation. The tables are really close together and not a lot of room if you order a lot of food. A little pricey for food and beverages (not a generous pour on glasses of wine) but the food and service were excellent.
So much fun! We loved the relaxed atmosphere, and the food is wonderful! Thanks for a great time!
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Barbuzzo. They said us immediately with the reservation and had our table ready. The food came out in a timely manner and was excellent. The waitress was awesome and gave us nice suggestions and she was very pleasant. Would definitely go back.
Great lunch. We were very impressed and looking forward to our next visit.
I took a client who is a vegetarian here because there were a number of options. I was surprised how good the beet salad was, along with the squash stuffed pasta. Very tasty and well presented. We ate at the bar and still got excellent service. When I am Philly again, I plan to return.
Always a great meal at a reasonable price. Cramped quarters but the food is worth it. Some really good. New, innovative dishes on the menu: several of which we tried and enjoyed.
Great food, but a bit crowded and quite noisy. We were there early on a Sunday night and thought it would be a little more subdued. I totally understand why it was "hopping" since the food is outstanding and a very good value!
It's always a good meal, with one of the best desserts.
Place was super cramped and extremely LOUD! Food was amazing! Server was good. Won’t likely return! It’s just too loud and crammed... can’t even talk across table. if I wanted to sit on top of someone else I could always go to a food court in the mall!
delicious and amazing.. food was so good and the caramel budino is the best dessert ever
Great place! The meatball appetizer is unbelievable. Good drinks, great food, nice ambiance - what more could you ask for?
Fabulous food presented by an amazing server Vanessa! She was able to guide us through the options and offered perfect suggestions. We came for restaurant week but will be back for the Carmel Budino and awesome pastas!
The food was great. This restaurant is very small which make dining a very packed experience. Be prepared to have dinner with the people sitting next to you, too.
First time visiting for restaurant week. Restaurant is narrow but tables are comfortable. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. All of the food was fantastic but the real treat was the budino dessert, which was unique and delicious. Highly recommend for a date night.
Service was great. Cocktails were excellent. Went during restaurant week, so value was a plus. I would have given a four star for food except I disliked the cauliflower "steak" entrée. The Budino dessert was out of this world.
