Dinner better than lunch! Loved it in March for dinner, not so much this last time for lunch.
Usually a great spot but the food was not hot and not up to par. The gnocchi was just okay and the meatballs did not taste fresh.
This is a great place but inside is SO BADLY LIGHT that I could not read my menu. I think it is unacceptable to have that dark of an ambiance for someone enjoying trying to enjoy a meal, despite what the preference of the manager or owner or designer of the place is. It doesn't allow one to see their food, their menu or each other as well as one should.
Great time dining out, Tiramisu was great!
Love this restaurant, but you need a flashlight to read your menu- lighting needs to be tweaked, unless you’re hiding something. Server very nice. Most courses were delicious but I found some of them lacking composition:
Beets salad had (8) little pieces beet and a mountain of beet greens- completely unbalanced
Arancini was delicious
Octopus was disappointing- had to dig for pieces of octopus and there was so much dill in the dish that you could not taste anything else
Meatball- were difficult to eat, cheese had congealed like it sat in the window too long. Flavor was not anything special
Tartare - we never got it and had to remind the waiter- removed it from the bill and offer busing on the house nice gesture.
This was my 9th time at this restaurant and I love this place, and I know how successful it is, but you need to tighten things up be for I drop $175 again.
Everything was great! Loved the food, service was phenomenal, and location is super cute as well! It’s a bit dark inside so if you want some light, sitting near the windows is great or outside is nice as well!
small, well curated menu and everything was DELICIOUS.
This is a WOW! restaurant because of the quality of the food. The menu is interesting and the food is thoughtfully planned, well-executed, and well-described by the waitstaff. The food far surpasses the tightness of the space and the relative darkness of the restaurant (aging eyes here). Waitstaff is attentive.
I have never had a negative experience here and was able to bring my boyfriend for his first visit. The drinks were great (because not everyone makes a decent old fashioned), beef tartare excellent and not too large of a portion, the meatballs were perfect and the budino absolutely delish.
I love Barbuzzo and have never had a meal disappoint. I went with a friend. The restaurant was crowded, but you are easily able to have conversation.
We started with mixed drinks that are always well made. Mushroom crostini is a dish where thick, toasted bread is piled high with greens and wonderfully woodsy mushrooms. The meat balls are the best anywhere! Two huge meatballs made of short ribs and pork, stuffed with cheese and spices. Just delicious. We also had fiduea which is like paella and is absolutely wonderful. Mussels and shrimp perfectly cooked.
Of course Budino for dessert is a must. There is no better combination of sweet, salty, smooth, and creamy than the Budino made at Barbuzzo.
Very cool vibe! Good quality food but limited menu. Service very good!
Great food with attentive service - the physical space is very narrow & tables are very close - but the food & excellent menu make up for the space
Although the food is tasty, this restaurant is extremely loud and our server was not very attentive. In addition, the food took awhile, which is not helpful when you’re on a business lunch hour.
Food was very good. Server was ok, not much personality and didn’t acted concerned or really respond to the problem we had with two drinks with tonic were flat. She said there was no problem with anyone else who ordered a drink with tonic. Other than that I would definitely go back.
Really nice menu, but the food was just ok. Flavors in fideuas were a little odd/didn’t totally complement the shellfish. Pizza was fine but crust was excellent.
Good drinks, nice (but super loud) inside, very slow service.
Good food and great place!
I met an associate for lunch at Barbuzzo, and it was a comfortable and suitable place for a business lunch. The food was great and was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. The service was friendly and professional. I would have preferred to be offered something other than french fries to go with my sandwich - otherwise, I have no complaints!
Despite having made a reservation very well ahead, we got the worst table in the restaurant.
Noise level extreme. No suitable for conversation. Food mediocre, wine and service more or less okay
Our dinner at Barbuzzo did not disappoint - it exceeded our expectations. Our favorite dishes were the ricotta, the octopus, the lamb neck pasta and the apple bread pudding. Service was outstanding. The timing of each plate throughout the night was attentive and spot-on. Our waiter gave us just the right amount of attention. The noise level was high when we first arrived, but other tables cleared out pretty quickly and conversation became more ambient noise. I would absolutely come back and will be recommending Barbuzzo to friends.
I’ve been looking forward to eating dinner at barbuzzo for a while! The ambiance was great, but the food fell short of expectations. Most of our dishes were too salty and tough to eat. Luckily we shared all our dishes it was only a small portion each.
Oat Risotto, Roasted Beet Salad, Gnocchi, all equally outstanding! Would not hesitate to return!
Everything about the restaurant was great except its so tight! Literally in the other tables conversation. Bumped the entire meal.
Food is great but not phenominal. Tapas style. Very crammed !
High demand restaurant so it's recommended to make reservations. We were seated very quickly near the front. Service was friendly, informative (of the food), and efficient. We had a vegan and carnivore at the table and the menu choices robustly covered each. Food came as it became ready and quite tasty.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Philly. Highly recommend the beet salad to start. The cheese platter is good. Their pastas are all excellent!
I would also save room for dessert. The budino is a must have! Highly recommend
Food was amazing. Service was amazing.
Really great as always. The drinks were superb, though the cheese board was not our favorite
Excellent atmosphere and fantastic food, particularly the mushroom pizza. Great service.
Food was great. Love that pizza from a wood fired brick oven.
Great food but slow service. Still a wonderful experience!
Amazing Food! Great atmosphere.
We go just for the Buddino...but the rest of the food is pretty good too. And I love their cocktails! Was disappointed that the arracini wasn't on the lunch menu, but what are you gonna do?
Excellent food, diverse and unique flavors, serving portions and sizes encourages Sharing and variety
Nice mixture of dishes on the menu. Cocktails were excellent.
Quick seating and service. We were looking for something different and we found it.
Fabulous last minute Easter dinner on a beautiful day !
Bright beautiful day but we are seated in some dark back corner that we had to use phone lights to read menu. Food. Ok. Overall “meh” 😒
Great food and priced well. Service was lovely but it’s definitely snug inside. Only a foot or so in between tables.
Everything we had was amazing. But the octopus salad was the most amazing experience! Fork tender and so flavorful.
Always a favorite. Food is consistently fantastic, the folks working there are kind and attentive without being pushy and even though it's loud in there, it's not obnoxious noise
