Food was excellent - we had a pizza and the chopped and beet salad. Service was good. Tables are very tight and restaurant very busy so hard to have a conversation. Overall, good experience
Out for a quick meal with my wife and Barbuzzo is always a fun place to go. It was a little quieter last night than usual due to rain, so it was very relaxed atmosphere and our waiter, David, was great. Had a couple drinks, the uouvo pizza and the pork chop. Both were great and the mash with the pork chop was really tasty. Finished it off with the salted caramel budino. We had things to do so getting seated right away and attentive service moving matters along at a nice clip kept us on schedule.
Beautiful cocktails, good and reasonably priced wines by both glass and bottle. Excellent and beautifully prepared menu items. Negroni, gnocchi, tomato salad, glass of nero d'avola, salted carmel budino=perfect dinner. What's not to love?
Hot, crammed, loud and lacking good service. Food was its saving grace.
This place is incredible. We come back to eat here time and time again. The uovo pizza, beet salad and budino are our staple, but the seasonal menu keeps us coming back for more. More importantly the waitstaff are amazing. Shane was our waiter tonight and he was the whole package, helpful, thoughtful, attentive and hilarious. If you go, order a lot of food, it’s all amazing, and ask for it to be served by Shane, you won’t be disappointed.
I have been a customer for years and can not believe how bad my experience was and food.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city, I love the pizza there. Please bring back the FICO.
Everything was incredible! The Ricotta app and Meatballs we’re out of control delicious! Highly recommend it.
excellent food flavors. Can't wait to return to try more menu items!
Our server was overall uninterested in the menu, and didn’t care to do much explaining. That said, the menu pretty much speaks for itself. We ordered the charcuterie board to start, it was a good size for three people to split. We had the meatballs, a pizza, salad, and a pasta. All the food was great, and everything was delicious. The salad was very small and not really shareable. We had the tiramisu and budino for dessert, they were exceptional. Dessert was certainly the highlight of the meal.
Food was delicious!!
The food was good, but not great. The ambiance was cool but almost too dark to read the menu (I’m 22 with good eyes) and the service was very good. The drinks were also pretty good and unique. Overall a good experience but not the best I’ve had.
One of our favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. Always great selections of fresh local foods served in creative creations that will make you have foodgasms.
Back again to try the Sanguinello and Basil Lemonade. Heaven Perfectly blended. The Cacia e Pepe Arancini are wonderful stuffed risotto balls with mozzarella, corn and a Smokey black garlic come with shaved Parmesan and just a slight bit of lemon zest to make it fabulous. Peach Crostone was a treat of heavenly bliss. Fresh sweet peaches blend perfectly with mint and a zing of jalapeño over whipped ricotta with a touch of honey. A wonderful summer treat. The popular favorite the Caciocavallo Stuffed Meatballs don't disappoint. I couldn't even get both in the picture they went so fast. Pizza with wonderful combinations are usually the highlight of a light dinner. We tried the Fiore di Zucca with local squash blossoms touch of mint, buffalo mozzarella, just a heavenly bit of roasted zucchini, pine nuts garlic and prosciutto di Parma. Amazing combination served on a wonderful thin crust cooked in a wood fire stove. And top off you evening with the perfect dessert Bundino. The perfect blend of salt sweet caramel soft fluffy goodness that you just can't stop eating.
If you are lucky you can watch your pizza being made in the open kitchen.
Congrats to Chef Mike for keeping this legacy growing and creating wonderful food and perfect experiences.
Food was delicious. Portions small for the price. They have very little accommodation for a strict gluten free restrictive diet. I actually found restaurants in Italy more able and willing to accommodate gluten free diets than this local restaurant. If they would improve this key point I would highly recommend. Until they do, I will not be returning.
The food was so delicious! It was fresh, local and unique!
Portions were perfectly sized to allow restaurant goers to order two or three plates each; the variety was great. My wife and I were most excited about the grilled octopus dish, but were a little let-down because of how little octopus was actually in the dish. The flank steak was outstanding.
Food wasn’t that good. Like a hotel breakfast. We cannot seat by the window even there are not so many people and it was 1.5 hour before the closing time...
Food was good, but disappointed to find their dinner menu was different from their lunch (I went for lunch hoping to get some of their lauded gnocchi and octopus.) Still a delicious meal save the grapefruit spritz, which needed to be mixed before each sip. Very fast service
Food was average at best. Place was dark and musty.
Barbuzzo is an amazing restaurant. Fantastic service, great drinks, and the food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!
This was a such a delicious and amazing dinner!! The food was delicious and our waiter made such excellent recommendations.
My meals at Barbuzzo have been hit or miss - sometimes excellent, sometimes less so. At my last visit, our food was so salty we could hardly eat it. What is consistent is the extremely high level of noise, which makes conversation impossible. We couldn't wait to get out of there and so decided not to send our over-salted food back. I've decided against going back again. It's just too unpleasant.
Had a great experience
Food and service were exceptional
The margherita pizza was fresh and hot
Had the octopus, meatballs, and margherita pizza. Finished with the tiramisu. Rounded off with an old fashioned. Perfect food. Great ambiance. Can't wait to go back.
As always, spot on! The food is fresh and full of flavor. New additions to the menu and daily specials never disappoint.
The AC needs to be on higher or add ceiling fans. It’s a tight space and when you add that many people it definitely overheats.
I've been here several times and always look forward to the food. This last visit I wasn't able to read the menu or wine list. It was super small print and the restaurant seemed darker than usual. I noticed lots of other patrons using their phone flashlights. Ambiance is one thing, but darkness is just difficult. I'm not even that old! I feel for people who are vision impaired. A larger print menu and a little less dimer switch please. The food was delish as always!
This is a highly reputed restaurant, and deservedly so. The salads and spreads were all memorable, and
above and beyond similar 'small plates' other restaurants offer. For example, Heirloom Tomato salad is so often just sliced local tomatoes with a better than average drizzle of olive oil. Not at Barbuzzo. I would have been happy with that and the beet salad for dinner. The oyster mushrooms were also out of the ordinary and truly delicious. And the grilled octopus was also outstanding. The pizzas were very good as well, but we expected that. Dessert was good but less stellar. The lemon olive oil gelato was fine but bland - the lemon got lost. The Budino was quite good, but the bread pudding had no restraint - caramel and sugar and bread and kind of gloppy. All in all, an excellent dinner. Perhaps indulge on the salads and spreads and do without dessert.
Food was served quickly and ingredients were very fresh. Restaurant was somewhat noisy but overall good experience and quality food.
Food and service was very good but it was very warm in the space. It was 80° outside and it was warmer in the restaurant. Other than that everything was great
Really excellent meal. We shared the Ouvo pizza and the Casarecce pasta and both were very, very good. And the Budino dessert was excellent as well. Highly recommend this place.
Great spot! Do not miss the BUDINO dessert. Best you will ever have.
Food is excellent.
I love the dried oregano buds they serve with the pizza so you can break them up and sprinkle them on. DELICIOUS!
Great for sharing small plates. The broccoli dish was the table favorite.
The food itself was delicious and the service was wonderful - but the price for the portions?! Insane. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly, but for $23 it warrants more than TWO BITES (4 bites altogether, between a couple). The noise level and tables were also a little too loud and a little too close, but I could handle that if the prices or the portions were more appropriate for the value. I don’t necessarily plan on returning, which is a shame, as I truly enjoyed the tastes.
Great food, the staff followed our request to stagger the plates coming out. Definitely save room for dessert!
Going there since 2015, never a doll moment with the food and drinks.
I love Barbuzzo.. Consistent every time I visit this little gem of a restaurant .. Friendly and Professional Staff.. Excellent Food .. nice atmosphere and just outright Cool !
Have been to this restaurant several times over the last 5 years and each time seems a little bit less great than the last. I’m not sure if its management or chef changes or just simply the fact that the owners are so well established and have a good reputation they can let things slide. Either way, it was good, but not great. Will consider other places in the future for friends get together a rather than an old standby.
