This place is amazing! The food was amazing, the wine was great and with 4 very full bellies the bill was only $73 each including tip! Best dish; bruschetta or gnocchi. Only dish I really didn’t like was the mackerel, way too fishy for my tastes.
Food was excellent and the service superb
Excellent food and wine selection
The wine list itself is definitely worth a visit, and the clams was absolutely great!!!
Just wonderful. Truly delicious!
Casual business meal, so this was the perfect space. Not too busy on a Thursday, so we had our space. The industrial, garage feel was a nice respite in the sometimes stuffy neighborhood. Would definitely go back!
We were able to snag a last minute table on a 70-degree February day and had the most delicious spontaneous meal! The food, as always, was fantastic with highlights including Insalata di calimari (the perfect mix of indulgent perfect fried calamari on top of a spicy salad). My husband and I then shared the striped bass (delicious) and then followed with the pasta carbonara (decadently rich and delicious). Our server was also terrific at making requested suggestions.
We enjoyed everything, pasta, hangar steak, pork shank and chicken ...so flavorful and perfectly prepared! Our server was so friendly and helpful, made for a fun dining experience!
Great ambiance and incredible food! Came here to meet up with an former teacher who was in town and we both enjoyed the veal bolognese. Can't recommend this highly enough - melts in your mouth and is one of the best dishes I've had in a long time! Cocktails are amazing too!
Very good food and place...
I was expecting the full menu, but some options were not available for lunch...
still recommend for everyone
A little bit expensive
Food was good, but music very loud. More like a bar.
Wonderful Lunch, started with a couple 1919 cocktails which were quite tasty. We ordered the JW Chicken and the Carbonara. The chicken very moist, skin slightly crisp and covered with just the right amount of salsa verse. The Carbonara was cooked perfectly as well, just loved it! We will dine here again...
Loved it! Fun setting, personable service, great food.
Food was great except dessert. We all had the affogato and the espresso was so watery it was terrible.
Wonderful winter menu— we enjoyed gnocchi, swordfish, and chicken—excellent lazy lunch
Never disappoints. The chicken is to die for. Wine is always perfect. Dessert is like my Nona made it
Amazing service and fun atmosphere. Went with a group of four and enjoyed plenty of wine, delicious appetizers (kale salad and burrata are not to be missed), and a few of the main courses. Our favorites were the chicken with salsa verde and the squid ink pasta with crab and meyer lemon. Portions were big and everyone left full. Can't wait to go back and highly recommend.
Just as in the past, delicious food and fun vibe. Friendly and attentive waiter. Among our favorite dishes were the amazing chicken, duck breast, kale salad and , burrata with beets. Will definitely return again.
Came with my family to celebrate a 30th birthday. Food was fantastic and ambiance was just what we were looking for before heading down the street for after dinner drinks. Loved it and will be back!
To be honest this was place was over priced for the quality of food they served. The service was good and the space is pretty cool, but the food was disappointing.
The dinners was good but the smell of food from the kitchen was too strong. They should find a solution to avoid this issue
the pancakes were awesome, The pizza with the 2 runny eggs, were very overcooked eggs, and 2 frittata's were very plain, no flavor and in both the cheese was in just one area. Both of my guests left half of it on the plate. Very disappointed.
The chicken is as good as everyone says. I don’t usually like roast chicken, but was told it was a must have so I took my chances and it paid off. Our waiter was attentive without being too much, but the place wasn’t at all full - definitely a great place for lunch for that reason alone!
The food was delicious
Never disappoints! A lovely meal. The salads were delicious as were both vegetarian pastas. The shaved truffle was a lovely accompaniment. And never leave without ordering the potatoes!!!
Overall positive. Food was exceptional. Service okay. Liked the laid back atmosphere. Would come again.
Fantastic service and outstanding food at this upscale, bustling restaurant in meatpacking district. A great stop after the Whitney or any other time. Waiter was attentive, friendly efficient and very helpful esp with a gluten intolerance issue. Best chicken we have ever had and as a result can not order chicken anywhere else ever again. Only suggestion would be to have more wines by the glass in the $10-15 range as most are $20.
Did not disappoint! I found Barbuto through an Instagram post and had been following them for months dying to go try the food and it was well worth the wait. Thank you for a great lunch, would recommend and would be back in a flash on our next trip to NYC! Great little gem.
I went to Barbuto as the last meal we had in NYC before flying out. I had taken my daughter to celebrate her 21st Birthday and Christmas in the city. We loved the decor, bar, excellent service and most delicious food. I am a true foodie and use Italy(all regions as my guide). Barbuto is a place to put on your must go list in NYC. Sometimes celebrity chef places change and go down-this place was outstanding. I loved ending our wonderful trip on such a high note.
Never a disappointment with Jonathan Waxman's Barbuto. Our waiter, Peter, was so helpful and had an infectious happiness to him as well as the rest of the staff. We try to eat at Barbuto whenever we travel to NYC with the family. We have never been disappointed. Try the Gnocchi and any other homemade pasta on the menu. And the JW chicken is a classic and so very yummy! Oh and the bartender made one of the best French 75 cocktails I ever tasted. Try it if you love Gin and Prosecco.
Food good. Service was terrible. Waiter was inattentive, every drink he brought overflowed the glass and wetted the table. He was oblivious to service. VeRY slow in every aspect.
Brilliant restaurant. We had the Christmas Eve tasting menu. Everything was delicious, served with perfect timing. Will definitely be going back!
Great service. Food did not disappoint. We will be back.
Barbuto is not the prettiest restaurant in the Village, but the Italian food is the best I have had! I've gone to all of the great ones but this topped out all Italian restaurants. The linguine with Truffles was absolutely delicious.
Loved the brussel sprout/pecorino salad! Delish!! Cute location, too.
Delicious food carefully prepared and presented. Great service. Lively casual atmosphere. Consistently satisfying. It all keeps me coming back to Barbuto.
We had a group of 6 and found the family style tasting menu by accident. It was at the bottom of the menu after the blurb about the chef's latest cookbook. Glad one of the people in our group found it. We all like to share and only 2 of us had been to Baruto before. Amazing amount to food and 3 or four dishes for each course all excellently prepared and delicious. Seemed a little rushed, the kitchen should have given a little more time in between courses. But, in the end we were there for almost 3 hours! Great experience, looking forward to doing it again!
Food outstanding!! Only downfall, someone took my favorite hat from the coat check.
