Barbuto Ratings and Reviews
The food is always up to par, rarely have a bad meal here although at the price point and simplicity of the dishes it should really be up to snuff every time. The service however is touch and go at best - from the waiters that don’t come back to check on you to the hostesses that make you stand there for a solid 10 while you stare at a room full of empty tables. It’s more often than not the simple things that make a dining experience enjoyable, and memorable for the wrong reasons the other way around. But hey, at least the food is always on point.
Most dishes we had were quite delicious, but I thought the chicken was a bit over-rated. I have had much better roasted chicken. I would definitely go back to this place for the food (pasta dish, pork chop and bruschetta were amazing), but hope to get another server. Our server, Matty had a pretentious attitude with me and my parents after they asked to decant the wine. I understand that he probably viewed it as unnecessary, but we all noticed his attitude with us for the remainder of the dinner, which was not enjoyable.
Barbuto is one of my top 5 restaurants in the country when I business travel. We are restaurant people also and we travel from Denver to NYC about once a year and Barbuto and Idnikitch are always stops we make. Every time we go, we bring someone new and they are always thankful that we brought them. When the Bolognese is on the menu... order two! One for yourself and one for the table. There's not a better one out there... Thanks team Barbuto and thanks Jonathan...
my mother's buactini carbonara was inedilble due to salt content. took forever to have someone come over and then told they could not make it less salty because the salt was in the guanciale. This is ridiculous - less salt in the pasta water or rinse the guanciale....poor all around. Italian panckaes too sweet, even more my 9 year old daughter. Sorry, just good for the scene, not food.
Barbuto never lets you down. Should this be your first time, you must have the chicken. I never tire of it. I love the kale salad but my husband says that the salumi platter and bucatini alla carbonara are to die for. The service is also exceptional.
I love this place so much that I had 7 friends in the semi private room a couple ofyears ago. Barbuto exceeded all my expectations and I was with a few foodies.
I love this place and the vibe and I have been there at lunch and dinner!
Been there twice and verytine I get there excited and leave amazed. Food is alway delicious and filling! Staff is very friendly and always have great recommendations. Within an hour or so the restaurant was packed. Lucky enough to meet Chef Waxman! Everything from drinks to dessert amazing! Looking forward to the Fall Menu.
I heard raves about this restaurant, unfortunately, I was very disappointed in both the food and the service. Ordered the fig crostini as an appy. The bread was huge and so hard I was afraid I would crack a tooth. For our main dish, my friend ordered the chicken (which they are famous for) and while the portion was huge (just chicken, nothing else on the plate) it was dry and completely overcooked. I ordered the flat iron steak and asked for it medium rare - more medium than rare. I specifically stated I did not want it blue. It came blue. I couldn't get the waiter's attention for a full five minutes. When it came back, it was obvious the chef just took the same flat iron steak pieces and grilled them quickly on each side. It was still blue on the inside as the steak was quite thick. The waiter did not come back to check on our meals. We had ordered a side of potatoes (again, they are famous for them) and they were so crispy and hard(deep fried) as to be inedible. A very expensive meal that was not enjoyed. A really good kitchen/waiter would look at the food left on the plates - most of our food remained on the plates. We were not asked, nor did the service staff seem to care that most of our meals were going back to the kitchen. While the ambiance is appealing, I would not recommend this restaurant for its food or service.
What a delight! Breezy, fun location. Perfect dinner on a Sunday night in late August. The staff was great. Excellent waiter. Very friendly. The food was fabulous. The chicken was moist and flavorful and truly memorable. Loved the side of potatoes. The kale salad, special day scallop appetizer, bruschetta, and salumi were all excellent. The peach/ blueberry cobbler was yummy. Very tough reservation but well worth it.
Barbuto was Just ok this time around. I love the kale salad. Share. It's large!!!
We got the rigitoni pasta with cherry tomatoes. It was average. Won't order it again. They do not leave any grated Parmesan cheese at the table. We also had to ask for bread.
Desserts were good, especially the chocolate pudding.
