    We had a great lunch at Barbounia. The place is beautiful inside with lots of character. We ordered the appetizer dip platter with bread. All the dips were plentiful and very tasty. We had the schnitzel sandwich and the lamb pita sandwich. Both were very good. We would definitely recommend Barbounia.

    The restaurant did not have my open table reservation. I was ignored for 20 minutes after I was seated while the table next to me sat down 15 minutes later and got their order. My water glasses were never refilled. I had one martini and the empty glass sat on the table for the entire hour And never was removed. It took one hour and 15 minutes to get my main dish. I first ordered a salad Israeli salad, which was delicious. However, it took 25 minutes to be served. The waiters were terrible nonresponsive. It took 10 minutes or more to get my check. I was very very disappointed

    I used to love barbounia, the food is still good but my has the service changed. Not only did our waiter hover and badger us to decide, but when they brought out the food they fully dropped my sandwich on my mom’s white pants. Didn’t even bring a napkin, even after we asked, let alone offer to comp my meal or my moms for the inconvenience of her ruined clothing (grease, oil, avocado stains) or the fact that our whole table had to wait another 20 minutes for my food to come out again. Aside from that, we asked for ketchup for the home fries and the waiter said “are you sure??” And then didn’t even bring it. If I want to put condiments on my food that’s my choice. We were very displeased by the whole situation but didn’t want to make any kind of scene at the time. I won’t be back.

    Our family had a wonderful time at the Barbounia. The service, atmosphere, and food were outstanding. We highly recommend trying all of their selection of hummus. The waiter gave us great recommendations. We will surely be visiting this restaurant when we revisit New York City.
