Good was amazing over all! Love going to this place
We liked it for what it was, but we don't really go to this kind of restaurant, so we're not the best to judge. It's very big and very loud. Many people like this kind of experience and scene, but we're more intimate-space diners.
The food was very good. Fish and soup were especially well-prepared. Their revisionist Greek salad was just tomatoes, olive and feta. The quality of the ingredients was good, but it wasn't super special. We didn't get dessert or apps, so we can't vouch for them, but everything looked great, and I'm confident that most things were probably well-prepared.
I did think service was exceptional. The waiters were really nice, and when they misquoted the price of a special entree, they just comped the whole thing, which they didn't have to do at all (I practically begged them to let me pay the misquoted price, $25 instead of $37, but they insisted it would be $0!)
Food was delicious. Expensive but worth it and big portions. Beautiful decorations.
Another wonderful dinner at Barbounia. Restaurant Week made it easy to try new dishes.
The noisest restaurant I have ever been to. Even after the large crowds are gone they then blast the music.
Great fun spot for brunch!
Food is pretty good and I especially love the mushroom risotto and the octopus appetizer. Our server was fantastic.
Very good food, excellent wait-staff, airy and light, just a little noisy. We moved after being seated because the speaker with loud music was overhead. Absolutely no problem. Found a table in a quieter corner.
Great bar, if you just want to stop in for a drink and nibbles. Very good list of Rose wines. We ordered a bottle.
good food but just WAY too noisy. Impossible to talk without screaming.
Great food, excellent service! Came for restaurant week (dinner menu), very impressed and satisfied
The restaurant is scenic and the food was good. However, the noise level was ear shattering. It was almost impossible to have a conversation. I had to shout so loudly that I am hoarse today.
Three of us went for a restaurant week get-together and had a splendid evening. The food was outstanding. I had the mussels (delicious!) to start, friends had a crisp refreshing salad. For main, I had dorade, with a lovely Mediterranean medley of peppers, lemon and spices; one friend had chicken kebab, which she enjoyed, the other the lamb with black rice (very good). Service was attentive and friendly. The only problem was the extremely high noise level, which made talking difficult. A couple of times we requested the music be turned down a little, but it did not make any difference.
Food was good, but service was not. Waiter made a sour face when we told him we were interested in only small dishes (beacuse we read the entrees were just “ok”, and the smaller dishes are better). We ordered about 10 for three people, so in terms of total price it was probebly more then if we would have ordered entrees as well, not that it should make a differnce, I should be free to order what ever I want without the waiter making me feel bad! And he kept asking us if we want anything else, which was annoing - there is a way to do that without making the guests feel bad, and I expect waiters at a place like that to know how to do it.
This place is a revelation. Every dish was tasty, made from fresh and beautiful ingredients. The desserts are impeccable. Service is fantastic. Can’t wait to return.
Awesome place for boozy brunch. Great bellinis that get refilled often
We really enjoyed restaurant week here. The perfect girls night get- together. 😊
The ambiance is even better than it looks in photos. The food, exceptional! Wonderfully smooth hummus, the Restaurant Week mussels appetizer, chicken kabob entree and desserts were fantastic. While the restaurant is very loud, we enjoyed the energy. Cocktails are pricey, but expertly crafted and mixed.
The food was excellent. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service.
Amazing food and great service!!!!!
Will come again !!!
Food was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Friendly wait staff.
Fun place w/ great food & drinks. Would highly recommend it.
Food is good but pricey. Ordered a side which never arrived at the table. No apology from anyone. Service is not very good.
The bottomless mimosa/champagne cocktails paired with excellent brunch food options made for an unforgettable morning and afternoon in the Flatiron district. The service was friendly and prompt, but perhaps needed some more finesse when clearing our table and topping off drinks. Would recommend and coming back again!
Very nice ambiance but I felt the crowd was a bit pretensious, hostesses were super friendly and attentive, the servers also very nice, just the crowd seemed a bit too stuffy.
Wonderful staff very attentive.
The food was astonishingly subpar, to put it mildly. I couldn’t have more than two bites of my main course ‘Lamb shawarma’ which was literally floating on a bed of grease. No trace of any ‘black rice’ either.
Then the dessert, Silan, was extremely dry, and most likely missing half of the ingredients listed, I couldn’t eat more than two spoonfuls of it.
The service was better than the food.
Extremely disappointed with the quality of food.
Front desk was a little snotty about seating us when 5 out of six people in our party were waiting...but they did...and all was well after that.
service was slow and inattentive. tables too close to each other.
noise level is very high. Hard to enjoy the food under the circumstances.
the food was terrific, our waiter was very courteous and thoughtful. the noise level was very high and for a business lunch it was difficult to talk
also when my colleague came in the maitre d started talking to her and when a man came in after her, very aggressively looking for his table, the man chose to take care of the aggressive man and disregard my dining companion. it was somewhat mitigated when the manager intervened but it was clearly a faux pas on the greeters part
Chicken was dry- meal was not great.
Waiter seemed overwhelmed, had to keep requesting a simple bottle of water.
I’ve dined here many times- when they are busy the food prep suffers. I’m going to take a break from this restaurant.
Food and ambiance was great. Their service could have been better. We had three different servers and everything moved very slowly. They ran out of one of the restaurant week items on the menu and didn’t offer to substitute it with anything.
My favorite restaurant in NYC! We had a lovely evening with a group of friends from out of town. They love it now as well!
If you don't mind the noise this place is great. The cocktail list is good and the bartender is open to improvising as well. Brunch menu is varied - terrific for vegans and meat eaters alike.
Food was decent. Different brunch selections. Service was awful though. Took forever to even get water and then had to wave waiter down every single time for everything. It wasn't that busy.
Brandzino and cauliflower are must orders. The ambiance is really cute and a neighborhood gem.
My son recommended this restaurant as he went there for christmas dinner with his firm, and gave my husband and myself a gift card for our 25th anniversary. The Food was fabulous and the waiter from Algeria and the Captain from Morocco were so helpful and attentive to us (sorry don't remember their names). We had the best time and enjoyed our entire meal from mezze to dessert. We will definitely come back.
PS my husband has been a Sous Chef for 25 yrs and it is very hard to please him, but you did. BRAVO!!
food and ambiance are fine, but the service needs improving. at one point, we were one of two tables seated in the restaurant and 8 or 9 waiters were just standing around. it took 20 minutes for someone to take our order.
Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance and excellent service. Food was superb . Would love to go again . A bit on the expensive side but worth it . Will keep it for the next special occasion.
