charred jalapeno, olive oil, and crushed tomatoes
Great NYC outdoor location, good for people watching, delish drinks, food was ok. Service was excellent.
Overall the experience was fine; there were an abundance on flies and the waitress was having an off day perhaps.
Service was great! From waitress to bussers. Food was delicious also
The hostess was awful and rude- No excuse she is the first face we see. Frankly I do not think they care about customer service. Food and drinks were good but not worth the high price even for New York. $100 for 4 drinks. Overall high price for rude service
Food was good. Wine was good. Service was good. Really nothing to complain about!
Love this place! Great outdoor seating delicious food and super friendly service!
Great food, but some very traditional people eat here so learn from my mistake and don’t wear a skimpy top that will have the Lebanese grandma sneering at you 😂
The service and staff was very sweet and move me and my date to a nicer table away from the sneering lady and we’re very sweet.
Food was phenomenal, and so were the drinks!
The food is consistently delicious. Last night’s dining experience was even more special because of our fantastic waiter.
First time that they were super negligent. Our waiter was literally the worst.
Went there on a date. Food was amazing. Great service. A little pricey but worth it. Recommend if you want to impress your date and have a great meal
Drinks very good
Jerusalem bagel. Didnt feel fresh, should have been warmed up
Artichoke appetizer hood
Shirt ribs good
Branzino. Was not fresh and not well prepared -dry
Amazing food! Great family atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Excellent food as always, however the service was very disappointing. To clarify, the hostess was very nice and accommodating, bus boys and food runners were excellent, but the server was terrible. Only saw him twice over almost 2 hours. Took 20 min to come over and take our order and only came back once the whole time after I had to ask the food runner for another drink. And had to flag down a check.
I love Barbounia and will be back, but wanted to share in hopes it gets addressed.
Food was really delicious! Great specialty cocktail! Very cool atmosphere!
Interesting food, very good service. At outside, so I cannot really comment on the noise level.
Fine dining outside. Always an enjoyable dining experience.
Tasteless food , I ordered a frittata and got a burnt omelette . Server never check back on us , even when we had asked her for a wine list to order some drinks . Worst brunch I had
The food was great but I was very disappointed with the service. Our server rushed our meal and tried to take away plates while we were eating. At one point a homeless man approached us outside and multiple servers were standing around but did nothing
If you like Mediterranean cuisine, this is a must try! So many options that it's hard to choose what to order. Highly recommend.
We sat outdoors in what has become an increasingly busy, makeshift, post-Covid restaurant scene. The ambiance in that case, is the people watching. Honking horns and homeless folks set the tone outdoors. Not their fault. Can’t speak to the interior. We had the falafel appetizer (dry and unrecognizably spicy), branzino and chicken - both “taboon roasted” - both really bland. The staff was incredibly attentive, plentiful and pleasant, but this also resulted in a very rushed dining experience in which the appetizer dropped moments after it was ordered, and the main course served as we were putting the last bites of appetizer in our mouths. This is a high volume, fast turnover eatery with many pre-prepped meals, that capitalizes on its location and attractive website. The food was priced reasonably for the market. The drinks were expensive, but all in all for NYC, not out of line. One appetizer, two main courses, four cocktails for 200 bucks. Had we not been concerned about not being able to make a reservation, we would have had ample choice of more funky, local, no name restaurants, ALL of which now offer outdoor dining, and at which I would have been happy to pay more, though likely would not have.
Definitely stop in at Barbounia! While I usually opt for eating outside we ate inside and was so happy to have made the switch. The interior is beautiful and really added to the overall experience.
Food was as fantastic as usual! Beautiful service—we ate inside with our vaccination passes. Great time. Love their food….
Delicious food, beautifully presented.
Food and service was very good. I had the branzino which was very good, but not terribly distinctive. My husband had the duck which was wonderful. Wine was great.
Food came out to fast we were in the middle of our appetizer we were rushed Music was so loud we could not communicate unless we were actually screaming The staff was very unpleasant when we complained Would never go back
Nice spot for lunch.
This was our second visit. Our food was delicious.
The service was good, though we had a change in servers during the meal. We ate inside but there was outside seating
Would definitely go back
Barbounia is my go-to for any business meal or any event/visitors! The food is always amazing and the service is the best!!! Highly recommended!
Our entrees were delicious but the dessert (ice cream & sorbet) was disappointing.
We will be back but won't bother with dessert next time. The wines by the glass were high priced but that seems to be a sad trend.
Food and wine amazing as always...but being outside near Park ave made hearing very challenging tables should be farther away from the street if possible.
Very good, fresh Mediterranean food. Lovely restaurant with great atmosphere and great service. Was perfect for a lunch meeting meal.
The cocktails were amazing specially, Basilica & Old fashioned.
Hard to understand their system - seemed to have multiple servers, but no main person that we could interface with.
Out waiter was the best
The food was very average for such a high price!
Fabulous meal in a beautiful setting. The cauliflower appetizer was incredible as was the Duck shawarma.
I stopped in for a quick bite. The food and service was on point. Didn’t care for the loud music. I don’t want to listen to pop rock while having lunch. Didn’t suit the vibe of the place.
I took a friend from Paris to Barbounia for lunch. He knows good food and appreciates its presentation. We dined on appetizers & exotic drinks. Everything was perfect without being fussy.
