Barbetta Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. I have lunch in their beautiful garden patio a few times per month. It is truly a wonderful experience, with fabulous food, phenomenal service and exquisite surroundings. The interior dining room is simply elegant as well. This restaurant is perfect for any occasion, be it a day out with the girls, a pre-theater lunch/dinner, or the celebration of a very special event. From the street, you would never know how lovely the restaurant is. This restaurant is a MUST!
Barbetta is always consistent, the staff is welcoming, the food clean and delicious...and the ambience is delightful, inside the beautifully appointed and comfortable dining room...or outside in their world class garden...Simply, always a wonderful experience !!!!
Amazing!! Great service and lovely service. Food was excellent!
An absolutely marvelous dining experience in the garden. From our welcome at the entrance to the attention to detail was outstanding. Tito was so attentive and a true gem. The service personnel made it a wonderful experience. The food is a culinary delight. The beet salad was over the top, the risotto trio was a standout, and the espresso chocolate cake was a chocolate lovers delight. Don’t miss this dining experience. This was my second visit and I arranged it from MS.
Delicious food in lovely, quiet outdoor garden setting. Leave two hours to enjoyed an unrushed meal if going to a show.
The food and service were great
Beautiful restaurant. Service was superb My only slight disappointment was that pre theater menu was all that was available until 8:00 o’clock pm — although there was a nice selection and very reasonably priced, we should have been informed
We stumbled upon this place and in so glad we did. It was fabulous!!
Nice quiet Old World restaurant with very good food and friendly sommelier. Indoors is warm,, inviting and spacious. First time outdoors was fantastic- fountain, vines, trees - very peaceful and quiet. It was hard to remember we were in Midtown.
Our luncheon at Barbetta Restaurant was very pleasant and quiet, as we were the only patrons eating inside (a few tables were also occupied on the very pleasant outdoor patio). The service was attentive, but not obtrusive and we enjoyed our lunch salads and risotto. We selected the risotto with mushrooms which was well-prepared with lots of mushrooms which lent the dish a smokey, woody taste which was not unpleasant, a delicious beet salad, and sliced strawberries with a creamy smooth zabaglione. We very much enjoyed the pleasant surroundings and recommend the restaurant for a variety of different occasions. It would serve them all equally well, I am sure.
Took people who had never been there and all of us had a wonderful evening. Like nowhere else --- very memorable.
Great classic NY Italian restaurant. Good pre-theatre menu, lovely outdoor patio and wonderful smartly dressed servers. Felt like going back in time and we loved it. Will be back. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ambience.
We ate outside in the garden. First time we had the price fixed lunch. Delicious
We were seated in the garden area which is lovely but this was the best thing about the night. We had to wait a little too long on someone taking our order and the food when it came was at best okay. Given the provenance and pricing structure we expected far more from the evening and left a little disappointed.
Charming and dependable. Its all about sitting outdoors, so go when that is possible.
This is a pretty restaurant, especially the outdoor seating. We chose from the pre-theater menu. The table was outside which was very pleasant. The table had bread and butter, breadsticks and some some small parmesan rounds. The parmesan appetizer was different and tasty. To start my friend had the soup of roasted puréed vegetables and I had the the whole wheat penne with meat sauce. Both were good. Then for the entree we both had the L’Arista which is roast rack of pork, roasted potatoes and giant runner beans. This dish was especially good, we both enjoyed it. Dessert was yummy, the lemon and pistachio tart for me and my friend had chocolate cake. I had tea but I wish the tea selection was better. It was extremely limited. The service was pleasant and efficient.
A strange evening. Restaurant was nearly empty, but service was spotty and strained. Excellent food as always, but overall odd. Chalk it up to an "off" night. We'll be back.
I found it to be a good decent value pre-theater wise. It is very convenient two lot of the Broadway show since it is on restaurant row.
Barbetta is a wonderful walk back in time with excellent food wine & service. The decor inside is right out of The Leopard and the patio is one of the loveliest in NY. GO,
Very tired decor. Soup was very salty. “Signature” roasted pork was dry and creme caramel was a disaster. Nice waiters but very disappointing overall experience.
Wonderful dining experience!! Will definitely return!!
Very beautiful restaurant. The food was perfect. It was a very romantic night.
An excellent upscale Italian restaurant servicing Piedmonte style foods. Elegant Dining room or garden dining available. Great staff.
no food was edgy....fish was off...not enough time to exchange....pre theatre menu
Very friendly staff, beautiful out door garden. The food was very good.
They got us on our way quickly so we were on time for the 8:00 pm show.
A very good experience but, like many restaurants in the area, not cheap.
I hesitate to write an ecstatic review about my favorite spot in all Manhattan because then it will get mobbed and I will never get in. However, in the interests of fairness, I am obliged to say that this is the most delightful spot in the city. Exquisite décor, sumptuous food and a staff that anticipates your every dining need. If you sit in the garden during nice weather you will be transported to a tiny villa in Tuscany...soft lighting, lush green trees, babbling fountain. It's all there. Do NOT ask for Eduardo's section because he is my waiter and I do NOT want to share him with anyone else. Sitting in Eduardo's section is like having a favorite uncle guide you through the menu. For example you will order the grilled chicken breast and he just might say, "An excellent choice but tonight, I think you would be more likely to enjoy the veal Florentine." He is ALWAYS right. Undoubtedly THE best waiter in the city. To summarize, there are many very good restaurants in the Big Apple but this is the best.
Pre-matinee lunch on the patio - perfect!!
Excellent pre-theater experience! We would definitely return.
Great atmosphere. Welcomed back like family. Our "go to" place before the theater.
Twice in 10 days we had dinner here and both times it was delicious and the service was very good!!
The prix fixe is one of the best bargains in the theater district. $58 for appetizer, main course, salad and dessert. And it's all good. If the weather is nice, go out into the beautiful garden.
Since it was a beautiful day with comfortable temperature, we asked for a table in the garden. It made the meal even more enjoyable. The waitstaff was very friendly and very acccomodating. The food was served in a timely manner and was delicious.
We had been to Barbetta any number of times, but never in nice weather. We had a lovely three course lunch in the beautiful garden. The service was perfect as was the meal. I hope we can go again while the weather cooperates
This restaurant is an amazing piece of history and elegance. We both chose dishes that had been on the menu since 1906. Truly special.
Another wonderful meal at Barbetta's. The Prix Fix menu was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the entree of lump crab. Very tasty. Eduardo, our waiter, was superb and very entertaining. And we had a perfect night for outdoor dining on the patio.
One of our favorite, if not our favorite restaurant in the City. Always feel special when eating at Barbetta. The roasted rabbit was exeptional! Can't wait to go back.
We were greeted, seated, and treated to a wonderful evening. Service was on point from beginning to end. Pre-theater menu offered many delicious options. Outdoor seating was wonderful on a warm spring night.
We loved this restaurant and everything about it. It had old world charm with delicious, fresh food. The crab was the best I’ve ever had and the desserts were so original and tasty. The staff took their jobs very seriously, we didn’t want for anything. Pricey but well worth it!
My reservation was for my birthday. The staff and service was impeccable. The food was spectacular which I ordered from the pre-fixe menu. The woman who owns the restaurant came to my table to wish me a happy birthday. I was treated like royalty. I had ordered a glass of Pinot Noir which I was not charged for. Then the entire staff came to my table and sang Happy Birthday and also presented me with a beautiful chocolate mousse cake with a candle! Everything was exceptional. I can’t wait to go back! Thank you Barbetta Restaurant.
We have been dining at Barbetta’ s for over 40 years it is always wonderful but when you can eat in the Garden it becomes magical. The food and service is always 1st rate but the setting makes it a 5. Our friends from Canada loved the whole experience.
