I've been to Barbetta's to dine before and never leave anything but happy. Beautiful, old-world, romantic. Great for pre-theater dinner.

One of my favorite restaurants and one of my favorite pre-theater restaurants. The Prix Fixe menu has great variety and is well priced. The staff is attentive and well dressed. The noise level is blessedly low. Both the main 1st floor dining room and the garden are lovely

Came for pre-theater dinner for my daughters birthday. The food is always delicious and the prix fixe dinner is a good value. Service is always attentive without being intrusive, although as it got more crowded this last visit, they seem to have forgotten about us. We had to rush out without our coffee to make our curtain. My mistake for not telling them we had a 7PM curtain. All in all, a great place for pre-theater dinner.

We had a lovely evening at Barbetta celebrating my birthday. The food, service, and ambience was impeccable. Definitely had an “old NYC” feel.

Barbetta is one of those NY Pre-Broadway staples where you can dine at 6 and be out in plenty of time for a show. The staff there works hard to keep up with the courses and they're always there when you need a drink refill or an extra roll. Since COVID, it seems the menu is more limited and less enticing. I had the Penne Bolognese for my appetizer, and it was the best part of the meal. Too bad it couldn't have been the main course. The Beef with Polenta and Potatoes was bland. No seasoning to it and it was lukewarm. The salad was also bland and lacked punch. Same went for the dessert--the Orange Chocolate Mousse was too sweet and just odd tasting. Just give me a great mousse and let the chocolate sing on its own. When I got the bill, I was shocked to see a $100 tab for such a bland, boring dinner. The flavors were not truly memorable. While the servers are the best part of the experience, the food at Barbetta seems worn out and past its due date. You can find better food a few blocks away from the Times Square hub--especially better Italian food! All in all, this will be my last supper at Barbetta as the convenience to Broadway is not enough of a reason to dine here. Maybe rethink your food options and give the crowd more pasta choices or learn to use seasonings. I'm sure this won't matter as the place is always busy. It's just that theater goers who want an excellent meal to match their night out at a live performance won't get the best head start at this relic in need of a revamp on West 46th Street.

Great food and service. Just our table was next to a tree that kept hitting me in the head. More of distraction and made me want to hurry my experience.
