The bar is a great little get away from the typical bar and cocktail fare. The menu is small but the food was delicious and the cocktails were well crafted. There were 7 of us and everyone had a little something different from the kitchen; nothing but good compliments all around. The atmosphere was welcoming and I would highly recommend this spot.
Our Italian dinner was delicious. The music was great and the service was the best. The owner made time to visit with us at our table. We had a wonderful evening!
Nice small quant atmosphere. Lovely staff; very friendly
Love this hidden gem. Great owner who makes terrific drinks. Chef does a great job with the food. We absolutely love the artichoke dip. Best on Denver by far. Definitely recommend for a cozy spot with friendly people.
The location, setting and service were amazing! The food wasn’t bad but I probably would stick to the appetizers here. The drinks were delicious! Overall I’d visit again and recommend the place.
Why better experience than I expected. The shrimp tacos was immaculate
Not good. The server was informed of my nut allergy however my food had nuts in it and I had an allergic reaction. He didn’t seem to care
The place seemed cute at first with a small cozy charm but then we realized that they were severely understaffed. There were 2 waiters and after being seated it took them 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. After ordering a glass of wine we were ignored for another 40 minutes since the waiters did not know who had what tables. Then after waiting for an hour with only one glass of wine and no food we were only allowed to order one item at a time. After being there for 2 hours we barely got food and 2 drinks. We hurried to finish our very small and underwhelming meal so we could leave and were still charge for the full 3 course dinner they were advertising even though we did not order or receive that at all. It was a pretty big let down for a valentines day dinner.
We took friends out to a nice dinner as they are moving to Europe. We all really liked this place and were surprise there was almost no one else there. The happy hour wines and drinks were an amazing value and the food was simple, direct, and delicious. We plan to go back and then hit the Diamond next door.
We went here for a New Year’s Eve dinner and it was perfect! We will most definitely be going back whenever we’re in downtown Denver!
Perfect place for us to stop in for dinner before a show at Denver performing arts center. Owner was very personable as well as providing a historical backdrop on the building. Meanie is small as the kitchen, but food was outstanding! Best Manhattan around. Great place.
Bar Red is awesome!!!! The owner is super friendly, the chef is amazing and the bartender/waitress was great! Was a great experience.
It was a very quiet night and enjoyed the food and company.
My family of 3 went in search of pizza/pasta on a Friday night when I was actually feeling poorly and just needed a quick bite. Sadly there was one person behind the bar who was also on the floor and only one person in the kitchen. Although our server was nice, apparently the owner had stepped out, and she was stretched too thin. Everything took forever. Getting drinks, placing the order, having to come back to confirm the order because she forgot one thing, getting the food, getting the check. Although my boys liked their pasta alfredo, mine was not what I would call 'pizza'. It was a weird premade crust type thing with sauce and cheese on top and some fresh basil, nothing special. I would never tell anyone to go there for pizza. Menu is limited and not really meant for kids, more a bar atmosphere.
I would recommend this place to anyone interested in a loud wine bar. The food is great, but the ambience isn't great for dining.
I had a friend in town from Oklahoma and we wanted Italian food so I took her to this restaurant. I had been craving chicken parmesan and this certainly satisfied my craving. My friend had the salmon nicoise and loved it. We ordered specialty martinis from their mixology menu that were absolutely delicious. Sadly we were too full for dessert, but I will definitely be back!
Spaghetti was lukewarm temperature, portion small, no smell of food when walking in, so that was not a good sign. Cocktail tasted stale with no fizz and not enough ice. Appetizer Ravioli was so over warmed or microwaved that the cheese in the middle had disappeared, so just chewy crust was the only part left to eat. Meatballs were good, but also small.
Great food with great prices
Bar red was top-notch, I would absolutely recommend anyone looking for either great food or great service to stop in. Their chef knows what he's doing and he does it well.
Had a great time. The food and drinks are awesome! We’ll be coming back.
More of a bar/lounge atmosphere but the food was very good. I had the beet salad and salmon and both were prepared perfectly, good thin crust on the salmon with the center done just right. Limited wine menu but the Chardonnay I had was OK. I will go back again.
Had a great dinner for a very affordable price. The happy hour flatbread was delicious and drinks were a great deal. Our entrees were very good and filling as well.
This is an amazing little restaurant. The food was so fresh and delicious! The small space plus the wonderful ambiance made it seem like you were over at a close friend's house for dinner. Probably the best place to eat in Denver!
We picked Bar Red because it's super close to the Bellco Theater. My wife had the seared salmon risotto and I had the chicken parmigiana. Both were exceptional...clearly attention-to-detail was a priority in creating these dishes. We also had the beet salad and fried ravioli as a first course--again very good. The menu is small but everything we had was awesome..compliments to Chef Luke. We had the house pinot and Stella Artois--can't go wrong here either.
The waitstaff was superb throughout our visit. They were really down to earth and seemed interested in us having a memorable evening from the moment we walked in. We were made to feel welcome without overpowering our experience. Well done!
Bar Red is a small and cozy restaurant that we found to be perfect for a pre-concert dinner.
Place was empty.
Great food and friendly staff! The cocktails are very unique and tasty, plus the ravioli was amazing. You can definitely tell the pasta is house made.
Inspired cocktails. Attentive staff. Elegant, casual Italian food and so much more.
Great location and atmosphere. Limited menu; could be expanded to encourage more repeat business.
Great spot for girls' night out dinner before catching a show at the Buell. Delicious and very affordable Happy Hour food and wine. I've driven by this restaurant 100's of times but never gave it much of a look. We were all pleasantly surprised at how warm and light the ambiance was inside. Glad we tried it!
We did a selection of appetizers and craft cocktails...all were wonderful. Service was a bit "relaxed" but they had a large private party downstairs so I think they were a little slammed. Everything was so good, though...fresh and hot, too...so worth a little extra wait time!
Very nice place. Great drinks, great food. Went for New Years Eve dinner.
great service, nice atmosphere, awesome food and drinks!
This got a fairly good review on Yelp. I was in for a conference and wanted to meet some friends for a drink. On a Friday night, it was nearly empty. The 2 servers (guess they weren't expecting a busy night) seemed fairly indifferent about getting our orders. Extra points for the bartender who made me a good mocktail on request. Seems like it was on its last legs.
This is more of a lounge/bar then a full restaurant. They have limited drinks and a menu, however, everything we got to eat and drink was great! They are in a great location for the Denver theater, it was less than a 10 minute walk. I would definitely go here again.
Not impressed. The service was poor, our bill was wrong, and then they didn't check us in for our reservation despite us mentioning it to two different people that night. Definitely not going back.
This was a perfect choice for dinner before the Cirque du Soleil show at the Pepsi Center. The food and service were excellent. I loved the upscale, funky, urban decor. Next time I will check out the scene downstairs.
The food is fantastic -- authentic Italian. The Carbonara is the real deal -- which is really hard to find. Zach, the owner, made out evening exceptional. Service was excellent. Highly recommend it. And, they have a downstairs lounge for large parties.
I think the restaurant is in transition, as the menu on line was way larger than what we found in person. The food they had was very good, but less variety than what we were expecting. Also, their wine list was apparently in transition but what we had was good and reasonably priced. So....... if the trend continues, it bodes well, but it's always hard to say what the future brings.
Disappointing, the staff really appeared to be lost and dysfunctional. The food was OK but nothing to rave about. Their location is good, close to theaters and other activities. The interior is fun and inviting. They need some direction with management.
