Went for brunch Sunday morning as it seemed like the best place in the area (Soho / Noho). Great food, a little different vibe as it was Italian-themed brunch, but great overall.
Delicious food, great staff. The set-up leaves you fairly close to the group next to you (which can get a bit loud if they're a bigger party), but that's what you get in NY!
WAY too noisy downstairs. Should have requested to sit upstairs. But great pasta and burrata
Seriously had the best experience ever! My friend and I had a reservation at 8pm this evening but we arrived 30 minutes prior and promptly sat at the bar to get a few drinks while we waited. All of the staff that we encountered this evening was amazing and ensured we were happy with our drinks/food and service. We ordered the tomato rice balls for an appetizer and each got the spherical with clams. Both were incredible and the drinks were even more delicious. Highly recommend this place & will definitely be returning!
Celebrating a friend’s wedding.
Good food! Consistent each time we are there. Good younger crowd.
Long time visit with a good friend after many years
I’ve been to Bar Primi before and we had a family trip to the city, in Soho particularly. My family wanted Italian and choosing Primi was a no-brained. We had the meatballs, prosciutto and cheese and appetizers, and the artichoke, vongole, bucatini, and squid ink pasta for our mains, then the tiramisu and affogato for dessert. Solid fare from start to end. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. We were pleased with our dinner
Bar Primi is our go-to spot in the East Village. The service is outstanding. Wines are uniformly good. The food is great. It's a really good choice for gluten-free. It's as good for lunch as it is for dinner. Dinner can get really loud. Outside and upstairs are better.
Good Italian on the LES. Appetizers are a standout. Pastas are good, but not outstanding. Nice, reasonably priced wine selection. Service is friendly and atmosphere is nice.
Our server was the sweetest! She gave us free ice cream for dessert
Wonderful experience - younger crowd for sure
Really fantastic food but the service was excellent.
For a busy Friday night, our experience was great. Service was accommodating and communicative when our reservation ran a few minutes behind. Atmosphere is beautiful and a place where you can actually hear others in your party across the table—a rarity I find in the city. Our food was brought out of order, but we were comp’ed for the mistake. The only downfall was our food wasn’t properly hot, but was delicious.
Delicious and we loved it! The ricotta crostini was amazing
Very good pasta! Nice ambiance upstairs.
They were very considerate of a birthday at the table and the service was great!
Recommend the corn ragu fusili, so refreshing and light.
Cute place with nice ambiance. The menu was a bit limited and hard to decipher but our waiter was very helpful. We asked for bread which was slow to arrive and taken away when our food arrived. The meals were all tasty. Overall a nice atmosphere and experience. I would visit again.
amazing would go back
Top 5 in NYC
Everything was great except the food came a little late. The music was also a bit too loud for our liking.
Waitress was apathetic and cold. Food was delicious though
Was great... food is so tasty! We had a business meal and we sat at one half of a large table... which could have been problematic but luckily no one else sat with us.
Cane during restaurant week for lunch on a Thursday. It was pretty empty but began to fill up after an hour. Our server was very kind and had a great personality. The manager on duty was also very friendly. The food was really good. We ordered the brussel sprouts, burrata cremosa, eggplant sandwich and paccheri. Every was prepared very well especially the paccheri which was my favorite.
Linguini with clams were fabulous
This restaurant was wonderful in every way. Food was great. We enjoyed a new dish we never experienced before. The waiter was professional and friendly. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the New York noise and air
Don’t know why we are not getting points for this restaurant when I made the reservation on open table. Thank you
This place is ok. Always amazes me when an Italian restaurant over cooks its pasta. If you want to have a conversation, be sure to sit upstairs as we did. The bar on the main floor is LOUD. Having said that, why we were seated directly next to another couple when there were at least 10 more tables for two where you would not have overheard the next table’s intimate details is also, well, silly. The salad was excellent.
The food was incredible, great ambiance!
Would highly suggest the burrata, ricotta ravioli & tiramisu ♥️
Nice seat outside, we tried it for restaurant week and it didn’t disappoint. Would go again.
Amazing gluten-free free pasta!
Demasiado ruidoso. Carta muy limitada. Cerveza caliente. Buena pasta
AC was not working and we were sweating the whole time. My reservation was at 9:15 for my birthday and they sat me at 9:50 and then they forgot to put in my main course so I ate my main course 20min after everyone else.
I’m not sure if the air conditioning was broken but it was unbearably hot inside. Food was great!
The patio at Bar Primi is lovely - but the food was pretty average (undersalted) and the service was awful (even during a slow lunch hour with plenty of servers around). We had to get up and go inside to ask for another drink after waiting for over half an hour for someone to come check on us and had to get up to ask for the check twice before they brought it to us.
Food was great. The frozen aperol Fritz not so great, but once you let it melt a bit taste much better. But each time I’ve gone to to bar primi has been phenomenal
Found piece of plastic bag in my salad. Food very mediocre.
Great food and great service. Highly recommended
The server we had was somewhat rude and not attentive. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and watermelon salad, both of which were very good. We also ordered the burrata and prosciutto sandwich and the roll was so hard I couldn’t even eat it on the bread. I most likely wouldn’t return here, but has potential to be a cool place if the food and service were better.
Host was off-putting and did not really make us feel welcome/comfortable -- lots of sighs, blank stares and umms because we asked to sit outside and forecast said weather would turn at 3, it was 1:45. When, ironically, it did start to drizzle, we had to come in and ask for a dry place to sit. Hostess seemed confused as to why we might ask to turn the table to be under an awning or for awning to be extended. Server did not assist us inside (we grabbed our stuff and stumbled in carrying our own wine glasses). Not pleasurable to feel dismissed, but too late -- we were having a business lunch and had to stick to our time. Food was delicious as always but the attitude tasted sour.
I was disappointed with the service as I had made a dinner reservation indicating it would be for a birthday and still had to wait upwards of 40 minutes to sit down at a table. There were multiple parties of people lingering around at their tables and I suggested that the hostess kindly mention that to some of these parties but she refused to do so so I waited and waited.
