Great food and a WONDERFUL service! This restaurant is kid friendly as well.
Warriors win title again!
Great experience as usual. Bar of America offers a fun atmosphere with great food and drinks. The bar area is a great spot to catch a game!
Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. We had the best fish tacos and “the Usual” pizza. And, the throughly efficient, effervescent, and lovely Molly waited on us!
Been coming to Bar of American for over a decade....Always great food and service. Special mention to our server on Sunday June 3rd. Lisa took excellent care of us!
Pork Tenderloin was exceptional. So were ribs (small plate) and Caesar salad was fantastic! We also loved the ice cream sundae. The apple crisp was really good, except the apples were too undercooked and so big and thin, couldn't get them onto spoon. Overall, a really good experience.
Was very happy that we were able to choose from the Lunch menu for our dinner. Cheese steak was great and my other 2 friends enjoyed their meal.
We The only negative was the Caesar salad was terrible and we told our waiter but it was not taken off of the bill.
Our waiter was fantastic. Better bun needed for bison or hamburger. Chili less spicy option good. A little more warmth color or lighting in side room would be good.
Excellent salmon, and the jalapeño poppers appetizer was outstanding. The drinks were delicious. Great service too.
Mother’s Day Brunch. Our table was ready when we arrived. Service was great.
We've been to the Bar of America a few times now... it's quite the brunch treat. I have ordered the Chicken & Waffles almost every time. The crunchy chicken seasoning and batter with the waffles with bacon inside are delicious and quite irresistible when drizzled with the chipotle blueberry syrup. A big portion and oh so good. The rest of the family in our group of 8 was not disappointed either. French toast that was super sweet and tasty along with two different burgers including a bison burger and the kiddos split chicken strips and French toast. Everyone left full after washing it down with a couple mimosas for the big kids. The service was great too. I made this reservation for our big group weeks ago and they called this morning to confirm and were ready for us even when we showed up about 15 min early. One more lil thing that is huge with lil kids at the table... Our server brought the kiddos food first to get them goin as quick as possible. If you have kids you know this is greatly appreciated. We will be back and keep recommending this great place to friends and family.
Friendly waitress, didn't rush us, food and drinks were very good
Bar Of America surpassed our expectations. The quality of both service and food was outstanding. We highly recommend Bar of America to all visiting Truckee, CA
We've eaten at Bar of America many times over many years. This visit we had five different meals and found the food average in taste and the price high. The presentation of the food was very nice. The Caesar salad was full of capers and tasted just like capers - not Caesar tasting at all.
Great truffle french fries! I had sliders which were so thin and over cooked so it ruined my craving. My friends had salmon which was dry and served with BACON??!!! Weird!
Margaritas were served tasteless in a glass that had salt barely dripping from the rim!
I would not recommend or return!
We had three "not so greats" about this place and one "outstanding" that pretty much cancelled the negatives.
First the negatives:
The place is called BAR of America. So, I expected a pretty good selection of beer! Craft beer, to be specific. Nope! Only Racer 5 and Lagunitas IPA's. Pretty weak. Then the food. Nothing special and of course, the prices are sky high... touristy Truckee, you know. And finally, our desert was messed up.
But, what makes everything okay was the outstanding service! Waitresses were so helpful and accommodating. They even comped our desert for messing it up. It was overall, a good experience, even though I probably won't go back because of the lack of local craft beer selections!
The Chicken and Waffles are the best I’ve had...and I have eaten in San Francisco, New Orleans, all over L.A. and every where with a great food reputation. The service is pleasant...Truckee laid back but attentive. The atmosphere is quiet but friendly...lots of wood and cloth napkins.
Food is phenomenal and drinks are phenomenal!!
Went back for happy hour... you have to go here at least twice. Once for dinner and once for happy hour.
“The cocktail” is a dream! Recommend the “derailed” floater!
The jalapeño shooters are probably the most special amazing thing I’ve ever had... I’m pretty sure they were in my dreams last night! Seriously, get them (when you go for happy hour)!
For dinner we started with the ribs!!! So freaking good. 6 HUGE ribs... Meat falls off the bone!
The chicken burger was awesome!!
Seated promptly though it was quite busy. Very attentive and efficient server. Food was spectacular especially the grain, spinach and avocado salad whose recipe the chef will send me.
The food at Bar of America was outstanding. The Chicken Cowboy Chili was D-lish. I was a bit unhappy being seated in the bar room as it was really noisy. The four of us had to talk really loudly to be heard. Also, we were seated new the front door. BR! Every time the door opened, we felt the chill. Next time, I'll request a table in the dining room.
Food was excellent except for my daughters slider which was over charred.
We came to Bar of America for my sons birthday dinner- there wasn’t a kids menu online but happy to see they had one at the restaurant.
Overall our food was good- CA sea bass buttery and flaky and the pesto risotto with portobello mushroom was just enough, kids had Mac and cheese and the pizza was a little undercooked.
They server brought out a brownie a la mode with a candle for my son- it was fun we all sang happy birthday. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine dining that isn’t pretentious.
Always a great meal! Great portions, great variety! Service was outstanding! Highly recommend B of A!
The food was fantastic and the drinks were great! My husband and I will definitely be back!
We have been to Bar of America several times. It always surprises us with food quality and service. It is a lot of fun and a good value.
Very noisy but food and service great. Made reservation and was placed in dining room with several loud children. Also lighting was poor. Saw a person use his phone flashlight to see menu.
I had “the usual” pizza-very good! My wife had the cowboy chili and gave it 👍👍 and the Parmesan truffle fries were to die for! Jordan provided exceptional service!
We had to wait 15 minutes for a table for 2 despite a table for 4 being open, which remained empty the entire time we were there.
Bar of America is always our favorite spot in Truckee.
The Poppers are our favorite appetizer, and should be tried by all
Went with a large group on a Friday night. Great service and reasonable prices for a big group. The live music was fun and the scene was bumpin’.
First time eating here. Food was good and menu had decent options. Would probably eat here’s again. Good and comfortable vibe.
Good food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
The service could have received a 4 Star rating if the staff was more focused on the customer. There seemed to have a training going on for the espresso machine and the conversation regarding the proper recipe for coffee drinks could be heard by th customers. Training needs to be completed and up to speed before customers are in the restaurant.
Food was tasty and very ample.
Very loud place! But having said that, the food was amazing, the people watching was on point, and it didn't break the bank. Will absolutely be back!
Great place. Met friends and their young kids for lunch. Our server, Lisa, was, awesome. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner.
We are locals and have dined at Bar of America for many years. It’s a fun place to dine although it can be noisy at times. We usually order the swordfish or sea bass and have not been disappointed. The food is good and the servers are friendly.
Bar of the Americas is located in Truckee. Offers great food, amazing cocktails and overal a great place to eat. The summer is fun because they offer outside seating! Great place for lunch and dinner! Enjoy a must stop if you are in Truckee
Frustrating experience with the manager. Asked to sit at a table next to the one they suggested. While standing there waiting the manager said he could not make any changes cause “everything would go wrong”. Not a great start to the meal as it was literally one four top to another and within 5 minutes another group of four sat there and we both left at the same time with the same server.
Server was great. Pizza was sub par but martini was great. Too bad as the manager’s lack of any flexibility will make me think twice before returning.
Every time we come up to the Tahoe area we eat here, it’s a great solid staple. Food is always good but I. Suggest making reservations during the peak seasons!
