The food doesn't disappoint. Friendly wait staff. Gets a little loud - the acoustics don't handle the volume well.
My girlfriend and I have been talking about going to Bar Lucca ever since I moved to Conshohocken so I figured we’d give it a try when she got a recent promotion. First off, we sat there for 15 minutes before our waiter came over because they were having a meeting. That’s great and all but not our problem. They bring out bread which is good but there was only 2 peices for table. I ordered the steak medium rare and there was 0 pink when it came out. Ususally, I’d say something but we had been there for close to an hour already so I just ate it then we got the check and left. The atmosphere was great but the food and service left something to be desired
Everything was delicious! Love the mushroom pizza and the lemon basil martini was yummy!
Fantastic food for any occasion.
We have been to Bar Lucca many times and delays have had s great experience. The food is consistently good.
Very friendly staff, food was delicious. Noise level was a bit loud.
My husband and I stopped in for brunch. It was our first time there. Unfortunately, we’re disappointed at how small the menu was, and it wasn’t really a “brunch” menu. With not having a lot of options on the menu and my husband and I not eating beef, pork or chicken, mostly everything on the menu was off limits, unless we wanted pizza, but that really isn’t brunch food. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice but unfortunately it’s not the place for us.
Service is always great, as is the food, though I would like fewer greens in the farro salad. We were seated upstairs, which is not my preference, but we made our reservation late. The extra room upstairs that night had a few families with very young children and the noise was very loud.
Overall, this is a great restaurant. Our only complaint was that
the cocktails are expensive way light, two sippers!
The chef(s) are truly inspired at Bar Lucca! I recently enjoyed their sea bass special served over roasted chickpeas and tomatoes, which I honestly thought was a strange combination but I love sea bass and was pleasantly surprised to find it was an excellent combination! The chickpeas added an interesting texture and flavor the really complimented the fish! Their pizza is also delicious and I highly recommend the steamed clams appetizer which has an amazingly flavorful broth which is great to dip bread in. Service is always great here and the convenient parking lot is a bonus. It's a very nice place in an off the beaten track working class area of Conshohocken which is tastefully decorated in a way that provides a very nice ambiance and dining experience.
So disappointing. I had heard good things about Bar Lucca. The bartender was accommodating and our server was really sweet, although slow. The food was just disappointing. The bread was delicious, but the meatballs were so salty that they were inedible. Everything was so average with the exception of the Nutella donuts which were delicious. The server kindly took the meatballs off the bill and did not charge us for donuts and shots of limoncello to make up for the food and slow service. We really did appreciate that, but sadly, we will not be returning.
Food was delicious and it was a lively scene at the bar. Service is friendly and attentive.
Excellent food, good service, nice atmosphere. Great alternative to going into the city.
It was very loud and it is fairly cramp, could use some separators from the bar area.
Bar Lucca serves great food! It was our first time there and we would go back again. We shared octopus and calamari appetizers with friends. They were delicious. We each enjoyed our entrees. The only negative was that by the end of the meal we couldn’t hear each speak. It was uncomfortably noisy.
Great neighborhood restaurant with an upscale flair. Love the decor . Excellent food and drinks
Brought my wife and young daughter.
Food was excellent (we got pizzas), daughter liked her meal too but do wish there was some small kids menu even if it’s just pasta.
Overall though, very good.
My husband and I consider Bar Lucca our go to for date night or special occasions...this was the only time we have been disappointed. The restaurant week menu didn't have any pasta options...which was ok, but I was very disappointed with the lamb that I got. Portion was closer to an appetizer size and flavor was just not there.
Great pizzas and little plates as well as entrees. Service was attentive without being annoying. Decent wine, beer and drink menu.
Nice little gem tucked away in Conshy! Food was very good, service was excellent but a bit slow at points during our meal; however, she was certainly busy on a Saturday night. Only down side is parking. Small lot and needed to look for street parking. A great date night out!
I would not recommend this restaurant. First, my husband and I had reservations, but needed to wait over 30 minutes to be seated and then the service was slow. With regard to the food, the only thing positive that I can say is that the bread and olive oil were very good. The salads were overdressed, too cold and the ingredients were not well presented. For instance, the arugula salad was mostly red onions, hot peppers and hunks of prosciutto. My pasta was so over-cooked that it was difficult to distinguish between the pasta and the sauce, and my husband's pasta was extremely salty and over-sauced. With so many other great neighborhood Italian restaurants in the Philadelphia area, there is no reason to subject yourself to the food at Bar Lucca.
Very nice meal!! The food was amazing. We did have some issue with service as there were several large parties, but the manager made up for the delayed service with complimentary limoncello and a lot of attention!
Everything was great except the cocktails, wine was very well priced and pastas we’re good.
My husband and I love Bar Lucca. The food is delicious and the staff is very nice and attentive. They may you feel welcome and let you know that your business is appreciated. We have gone a few times for lunch and highly recommend their pizzas, especially the margherita, which is one of the best, if not the best I've had. Recently, we finally went for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. My husband had the diver scallops which he greatly enjoyed. I had the testaroli pasta which was also very good. If you like a cocktail on the sweet side, I highly recommend the arancione martini. If you like bourbon, the Mathas says is a great cocktail. The nutella doughnuts are a great dessert. I highly recommend Bar Lucca.
Food was delicious, service was excellent, will definitely be back!
Great food. Fried Eggplant bruschetta was amazing and so was the Octopus.
i have dined at bar lucca several times before which is why i thought it would be a nice location to celebrate new years eve. we are not late night diners so our reservation was made for 7:15. i made the original reservation on open table for 4 people then tried to change it to 6 guests and couldn't. i called the restaurant to increase my reservation and thought i had done so successfully, until i received a confirmation stating that my confirmation was for 4 people. i called again and spoke with someone who was able to manually change the guest count.
when i made the reservation i was under the impression that we could order from the regular dinner menu and/or the new years eve menu - Unfortunately, my husband has diet restrictions and the regular dinner menu was NOT available so we had great difficulty in making selections.
we wanted to order a bottle of Malbec, but malbec is not on the extensive wine list - which is fine. However, we asked our server, another server and the bar tender to offer suggestions - they could not help. Why didn't our server seek out the manager or dining room manager to help us ? When we were leaving, we met with a lovely young lady who mentioned that she is the purchasing agent for the wines, local recipes and ingredients of Lucca - why wasn't she asked to assist us with our selection? Given it was new years eve (though early and the restaurant was not full at this time) we can overlook the delayed service and luke warm food. Truthfully, i was disappointed and embarrassed to share one of our favorite local restaurants with our close friends.
My husband and I went to Bar Lucca for an early New Year’s Eve dinner before a movie. While the food was very good, we felt it was way overpriced. Furthermore, their dinner menu consisted of either pizza or a 4-course fixed priced meal that we weren’t prepared for. Even though I booked through Open Table, restaurant staff called me at least twice to confirm - they should have told me about the fixed price menu on the phone. The only saving grace was the quality of the dishes we ordered. They were creative and very tasty. Our only criticism of the food is that the scallops were rather overwhelmed by their accompaniments. Although the flavors and seasonings went well together, they were a bit too strong for such a mild tasting seafood. I’d be interested in comparing our holiday experience with a normal night’s dinner.
Tiny portions of pasta so et an appetizer. Good service, small room but not cramped.
Food and service was very good. Pasta was small portion but excellent. Interesting and fun beer choices.
Great little hid away. Loved the lunch. Pizza was amazing.
We had the tasting menu. Very good and a lot of food for the money.
A festive atmosphere, attentive but never intrusive service, and delicious food.
Enjoyed our private room upstairs for a table of 10! Great food!!!!
Definitely a neighborhood gem! I almost hate to write about it, because it's such a great restaurant! Outstanding cuisine, lively atmosphere, great service. What more could you ask for?
My friends and I absolutely loved our choices - we will surely return for more. In addition, our server Megan was fabulous!
Bar Lucca was fabulous from start to finish. A warm and inviting atmosphere and great bar. The open kitchen and exposed brick walls add to the ambiance. The food features simple, basic ingredients to outstanding results. Highly recommended. Probably the best restaurant on the Main Line. Seriously.
Other than the noise level I would definitely recommend this place. I loved the pizza, and friends have liked their other selections. I will return, just not on a Friday or Saturday night!
As all of the Pieri restaurants this was another great one! This was my first time at the restaurant and I brought a friend. We had a fantastic lunch there with some crab and cucumber salad, sangria and some dessert to end our meet up. Travel from NJ was worth the trip.
I hope to return soon again!
