The food was really good. The drinks were really good. It was definitely loud, hard to hear anyone, but a fun vibe to the place. Only issue was walking into the restaurant, there was a line to talk to the hostess and we couldn't just walk past people to get to the bar.
Our only complaint is that the music was too loud for conversation.
I made a bad entree choice. I would not recommend the duck breast. The duck was cooked well and was good but the risotto did not resemble any risotto I ever had. The broccoli rabe was inedible. Bitter and stringy. Everyone else’s entree looked good. Drink prices were very high. Very expensive and not what we were expecting.
Great food and friendly service. Love their pizzas, their burrata, brussel sprouts, and many other items. I wish they had a few more vegetarian pasta options, but overall I really love Bar Lucca.
Great atmosphere, great service, excellent food as usual! Will always come back
Nice and casual but food was fair. I had salad and pizza, I thought a safe bet, but not the case. The tomatoes were roasted and had a strange taste on the arugula salad. Pizza was good just not fantastic.
This was our second time to Bar Lucca. We recommended this restaurant to friends for a night out. They had never been to this restaurant before. They enjoyed it as much as we did. Our second visit was just as great as the first. It is definitely on our list of favorites.
We had the tasting for 4, and each course was even better than the last! We had so much leftover we took it all home! We will definitely order that option again!!!
Great find! Excellent selection of cocktails and beer along with a plethora of food choices. Nicely presented and helpful courteous staff. Highly recommended
Bar Lucca is amazing overall. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. I highly recommend reservations on weekends. Drinks menu is impressive, pasta is fresh and pizza is on point.
Love this place, nothing bad on the menu, and drinks are great
met friends and talked for hours. relaxed atmosphere. not hurried . delicious food.
Very much enjoyed comfort of second floor dining. Sarah was very attentive to our needs.
Wonderful food, friendly service. Traditional Tuscan food
Had an exceptional time! The atmosphere, beer and al fresco seating were all great. Thank you!
Normally we love Bar Luca. But the meal this this time around was mediocre at best. I had the Boar Chops...nearly impossible to cut even with a steak knife...plated in a bowl swimming in a strange soup of mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and a thick sauce. I’ve had boar there before, and it was great. Other in our group dissapointed with the scallops and gnocchi as well. Big miss this time. Embarrassing because we bragged to our guests about how good it was.
Service was excellent. When the bread that arrived ( the second loaf) wasn’t a salt loaf the waitress whisked it away and brought another immediately. Never had to wait to order or get the check but also did not feel rushed. The bottles of wine are also a good value from $30 to $65 dollars.
Excellent experience and the food was amazing. Highly recommended for vegetarians as well.
Everything was delicious as always, but we didn’t get the salt loaf, just plain Italian bread. A bit disappointed. Do you have to request it now?
Unfortunately our first experience with Bar Lucca was not very good. My complimentary beignet had raw dough on the inside and the pappardele w/wild boar ragu was so salty that it was inedible. There was also some foreign thing from the kitchen that ended up in the dish. It looked like a label with something written on it in blue ink. Service was very slow from the start. We were not given menus or water after we were told to seat ourselves and then we had to wait for everything. To their credit the restaurant did the right thing when they comped our meal for the bad food, but the way it was handled was very unprofessional and it appeared the staff was too inexperienced, despite the fact that they were very sweet.
Very unfortunate all around. We love eating out and love discovering new restaurants. Not sure we will go back to Bar Lucca although one of their sister restaurants is on my list of places to try.
Friends were getting together and the atmosphere was great....relaxing, not rushed, attentive staff. The music was a bit loud, but our wait staff turned it down for us. We would go back!
Pasta excellent; all food seasoned well. Brussel Sprouts a little over cooked to our liking. Great wine selection. Friendly and attentive waitstaff. We will return.
Did you ever look through open table at availability near you, see a place you haven’t been to in a while & think... hmm let’s try it! Then you get there and remember why it’s been so long? That’s exactly what happened to us a few days ago. We were seated outside, it was a beautiful night and we were chatting away only to realize after abt 10 mins, no one had come by to even offer us water. I’d say about 15 mins in, the waiter came over with water & asked us what else we’d like. Things seemed to be smooth sailing as we placed our app & drink order, received them & enjoyed everything. Long after we finished our apps, we hadn’t seen our server, at all. Not even once to stop by& ask how our app was. Water was empty, drinks were empty for quite some time. I finally got up and went to the hostess station which wasn’t manned. Neither was the bar. Finally someone came and I told them we’d like more water, drinks & to order entrees. They then brought the water to the wrong table & I had to flag them down. Our server reappeared & we placed our order. When our meals were brought out, much later than we anticipated being at the place, there was a hair on my plate of pasta. I was quiet about it but told the server I wasn’t going to eat that. They offered to get me something else but my husband was now half way through his meal since I didn’t want to make him wait. They offered to throw in a pizza for me and comp it which was nice. Needless to say, I’m sure I’ll remember next time why we don’t come here often. Such an unpleasant experience.
We’ve been going to Bar Lucca for years now and it was one of the best meals we’ve had so far. We’ll be back again, soon!
Food was really good, but overpriced overall. The music and noise level was very loud, but given the food quality, would likely go back.
Bar Lucca is a really nice little place to get good pizza or pasta. Be warned that the pasta dishes are extremely flavorful, but small portions. I like the atmosphere here and that one side of the restaurant is usually open so you get fresh air.
Thankful to the hostesses that graciously moved us to a corner table by the window which was a little quieter and made conversation easier. Thanks also to our server Nikki. All the food was fabulous: arancini (although we took off the red onion garnish), burrata pizza, charred broccoli rabe, and trio of gelato. We'll be back.
Really amazing food and drinks. We will definitely be coming back!
Perhaps we were there on a night with a particularly boisterous set of patrons, but it was nearly impossible to carry on a conversation due to the noise in the main dining area. There’s evidence of some attempt to address the room’s sound reflectivity on the ceiling, but it’s nowhere near enough. Combining that with food that was decent, but not spectacular, I don’t plan to return. The staff was friendly and attentive, though.
FIRST VISIT TO BAR LUCCA. WILL DEFINATELY GO BACK! FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, SERVICE WAS SOLID.
Food and service were great.
Loved the Italian beers available. Pizza and arancini were perfect!
Great in all respects!
Food and service were good. The dining room was sweltering hot which impacted our mood about the experience. The bar was much cooler but they seem to have a problem with the A/C in the dining room.
Been to Bar Luca several times. Also a hit. food, drinks and service are always top-notched. This visit was for our Family in celebration of Fathers Day. A busy holiday for resteraunts - - there was never any time that we felt rushed. Totally enjoyable and delicious. The service that was provided was also great.
We sat at the bar before our reservation time and the bartender was terrific - nice and knowledgeable. Our server was really good. She was patient while we decided and ordered and very friendly with the sharing and special requests. We were able to sit for as long as we liked and didn't feel rushed. The food was great.
Great night, mojito was the best I’ve had in awhile. The octopus app was great, as were the entrees. Highly recommend.
The table and atmosphere were terrific. We enjoyed the food, except for the salad.
I went to Bar Lucca with girlfriends on a week night. It was busy but not crowded. Bar tender and waitstaff were professional which is great for a local conshy restaurant. We shared a whole array of food from the menu, salad, pasta and pizza, and loved it all. Portion size was adequate for sharing, even amoung 6 of us. I really enjoyed this place.
Wonderful brunch with a dear friend. Perfect seating by wide open window. Fabulous, thoughtful, friendly service. Fantastic Bellini, breakfast pizza, and good strong coffee. Wish we had room for the beignets but were too full.
