Nothing wrong with our experience… Waiter and other servers were very nice. Ambience was the way it has been for 30 years there. Nothing bad, nothing special. Food was average. It wasn’t expensive; about $20 for an entrée. I like supporting small businesses and unique experiences, but I would have rather gone to the cheesecake factory.
Wonderful food, wonderful drinks, very cool set-up! I would definitely go again!
Average service, food, decor and atmosphere.
We had a veal entree and a mushroom pasta. The veal was delicious, probably the most tender and flavorful cut a veal that I can remember eating. The mushroom pasta had a subtle, earthy flavor and the rigatoni was cooked perfectly. The cocktail menu had some intriguing options and there was a solid beer selection. I did not review the wine list, but I don't consider myself qualified to rate the wine list anyway. Our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was quiet and classy in the bar area, almost with a Moroccan feel.
Great dinner, very friendly staff. Very nice dinner . Loved special cocktail > Exspresso Martini
Enjoyed meeting the owner who took some time with us. He answered our questions concerning Ethiopia/Eritrea and was most helpful with the language. It was most rewarding for my sister, a speech pathologist, who is treating a young man from Eritrea who is apraxic and has extreme difficulty initiating speech. Thank you
Consistently yummy. Exceptional, professional service. Great atmosphere. Family friendly.
Another holiday and another terrific brunch at Bar Italia. The brunch items were terrific. Nobody makes a better Eggs Benedict or Steak and Eggs...three of us ordered the latter...it's that good.
Tortellini might be the best in St. Louis. And the espresso martini is too good to pass up.
Desserts punctuated the perfect Easter meal.
Great food as always. Nice night out with my high school senior daughter.
Bar Italia is a place I would recommend because it is so accommodating. The server we had was very knowledgeable about the menu and pleasant. The ambience was very quiet and romantic. The pricing was reasonable. I would recommend as a appetizer the goat cheese.
We were in search of a spot to dine before Jazz at the Bistro that had a nice selection of seafood as a couple in our party of 4 were observing "no meat on Friday for Lent". We were thrilled with the great snapper special as well as the yummy scallops with pappardelle and seafood pasta. The salads were fresh, perfectly dressed and delicious. Our server couldn't have been more helpful and got us served and out of there right on time to make the show. Bar Italia is a well kept secret in the CWE.
Delicious meal and creative cocktails. We found this restaurant online and were very pleased with our choice.
Waiter and kitchen don't seem to communicate too well, but the food was good and all turned out nicely.
Great place!! Great food!!!
Two of the three entrees were outstanding. The third -- mushroom rigatoni -- was a bit bland.
Great Experience! The owner and staff were very personable. Extremely positive experience
Owner makes a point of letting guests know they are very welcome
Always good every time we have been there. A favorite!
Great food, service and wine list. We have been patronizing Bar Italia when possible for a long time and the (relatively) new location just makes it better.
Large group in the restaurant drove horrible service from our waiter. Every dish was bland. Freezing cold where we sat. Had to eat with my winter jacket on.
Great dinner and service!
We had requested a quiet space to discuss business and everything about our lunch created an atmosphere that enhanced our professional conversation. This will be a regular meeting place. We are also planning an event in the adjacent meeting room. Thank you Bar Italia
Horrible service! Hostest didn’t even allow me to come into restaurant claiming that kitchend closed at 9:30, yet their website was giving me 9:30 as an option to make a reservation. I had no place to eat dinner during new year’s eve.
Had a great time. Weren't rushed. Food was well.prepared. Nice portions.
authentically Italian rather than Italo-American. The Yohannes Brothers have been a staple for over 20 years and they have not wavered in their attention to detail. If it is not right it is not on the menu. Sometimes they cannot get good hearts of palm and the salad is taken off the menu.
Carpaccio is always a favorite as is the small plate primi of pasta marinara.
We love Bar Italia and go there often for special occasions, as opposed to for casual dining. The patio in nice weather is lovely. Food is always very fresh and delicious, with many great options. These options are unique and ones you may not find elsewhere. Service is also always wonderful - everyone there is nice and welcoming. We highly recommend it for someone looking for a nice setting, great food and middle-of-the road pricing.
Everyone accommodating and very helpful as soon as we arrived
Consistently good. Great menu. Kid friendly. Nice noise level. Fun to people watch. Good wine. Great server.
Appetizers were great and pasta good. Risotto was overcooked.
Great food, great service and great patio dining with friends!
Nice place, needs a big improvement in their brunch menu.
A beautiful day on a beautiful patio with very yummy food! I loved the interesting brunch menu.
By far, this is the best outdoor dining in Saint Louis.
We have been to Bar Italia a number of times and enjoy the patio during the summer. This time all of our food was either cold or almost cold by the time it was served. We saw steaming hot food coming out of the kitchen for other tables, but there we three of us and none of us had food that was even close to hot. What a disappointment.
Enjoyed the meal, atmosphere , wait staff. the weather was perfect for a nice family get together. Had a great time
Great patio. Food was fine but expensive. Service was just okay. Would go back for drinks on the patio.
Service was horrible. Took 30 minutes to get our drink order then 30 minutes to pick up the check after dinner. Patio was beautiful.
Lovely alfresco dining spot with a good seasonal menu. Generous portions.
We ate on the patio while listening to music. The ambience was wonderful as the weather cooperated. We had a large umbrella although not everyone gets one. Ask for one with your reservation. If the weather cooperates, I prefer the outside ambiance over the inside dark decor. The food is always good; tasty and creative. I prefer the brunch or lunch as dinner can get pricey, but is also good. Bottomless mimosas for Sunday lunch. The staff was creative with the cocktails and tailored made what we wanted. The restaurant is located in the Central West End on a wonderful street for walking and people watching.
