Bar Frites is open daily and serves French bistro fare.
The menu offers Bistro fare including great comfort food dishes and the classics. The Burgers, Steak Frites, Croque Monsieur and Steamed Mussels served with pomme frites are also among the fan favorites. Some of the Bistro Classics include Escargot, a Frisée and Lardons Salad and Sautéed Skate. Any night of the week can be unique with the Plats du Jour featuring Bouillabaisse, Côte de Boeuf and Coq au Vin to name a few. So whatever the mood or taste, one is sure to find culinary pleasure and comfort at Bar Frites.

    My 12:00 reservation was honored promptly. We were seated at a nice table. Tap water was fine. My friend ordered taco dish. She enjoyed her food. Service was excellent. My order of fish and chips was really awful. Frites were soggy and oily, crispness was absent. Fried cod, oily and tasteless. Perhaps made from frozen prebreaded cod pieces. Couldn’t really eat the dish. Coffee was delicious. When I told maitre’d on exiting about bad tasting food he replied “oh you should have called me over, I would have replaced your dish, but now it’s too late”

    Muy bien servicio y la comodidad muy buena, con poca variedad de brunch. El lugar tiene un ambiente, nada moderno, comparado con los otros restaurantes de la empresa misma, al final del día. Muy bonita experiencia.

    A great place for a great meal on the north shore of LI. A favorite. Indoors gets a bit noisy; we ate outdoors and it was lovely. Vegetarian options are limited but good. My husband had the special of the day, lamb shank. He loved it.

    Usually great. This Tuesday, we came for their otherwise delicious Brook Trout almondine special. This time, it came out dry, overcooked and strangely fried tasting on top. Our waiter was cheerful and effienct early on, but nowhere to be found once served the brook trout. Bummer. Just a verbal apology when given the check. The manager was new.
