One of the best Italian restaurants - amazing food and ambiance!
Second time for brunch. I had the Sunday pizza, again. And, it was amazing. And, their homemade chili oil is delicious! We also had the house huevos, which she beat Bobby flay with in a throwdown. Also, delicious!
The house wine wasn't very good but, the staff corrected that. The food was outstanding, especially the squid ink pasta! I highly recommend this place!
I had the cacio e pepe (on the brunch menu) and it was fantastic and several of the dishes had beautiful presentations. Our only complaint was how long it took to get food (45 minutes). It was busy but not completely full so we didn't expect that and we didn't have anyone stop and say that it was taking longer. I'm not sure if this is normal here because it was my first visit, or if one of the dishes delays the order.
We love Bae Dough!
Dinner with my mother and sister who drove up from Colorado Springs while I was traveling to Denver on business.
The food at Bar Dough is amazing. It's thoughtful and extremely well prepared. All of the dishes we ordered were excellent. The service however is another matter. Our waiter was covering half the restaurant it seemed without a bus person. We had to ask for water on many occasions, plates sat on the table for way too long, and there was never any follow up after the entrees were served. We were going to order desert but it wasn't worth the wait or effort (it looked fabulous btw). I know that Bar Dough is consistently ranked high in 5280 Magazine and other publications, but they aren't even close to the same league as Frasca or Travernetta in terms of the impeccable service provided at those amazing restaurants. Again, we loved the food and the chef is to be commended. With a few more people working, a bus staff, and some coaching, this place would be right up there with the aforementioned restaurants.
It was good but the pasta was too salty. Crab plus pancetta plus salted pasta water was too much.
Great food in a very lively part of the Highlands neighborhood in Denver. Not that big of a spot and VERY popular so definitely make a reservation (we ate outside which was very nice). Pizza was excellent as was the pasta dish.
Amazing food. We loved everything we got: fancy roasts, fried chicken, pizza and French toast.
The food and service were excellent. The only downside was the loud music coming from the burger joint next door.
Bar Dough was hands down the best dining experience I have ever had. It was everything I hoped it would be & so much more! Chef Carrie is an artist, truly. Her food was beyond anything I have ever had. MUST TRY HER FANCY TOAST! Will DEFINITELY be returning!
Food is outstanding. Good service, highly recommend.
We sat at the bar and Shawn took great care of us. The wine and cocktail options are really great. Super nice bartender, lovely staff, and food that is just so tasty.
We were in town for a girls trip and this was our first night out in town. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was attentive and it was hard to select from the many great sounding options on the menu. We ended up getting an appetizer (LOVED the toast), a salad and pizza. Perfect way to round out our first night in town.
Unfortunately not our best experience. Server was very nice but service was slow. Food was fair but not great. No rush to return.
There are 4 two-top tables that are positioned by the windows that open to the patio - there should not be 4 tables - it's too tight and you're sitting on top of other people. The servers can't even fit through the spaces which makes it most uncomfortable. I'm sure not ADA compliant either. For the price you pay, it should be comfortable.
Very highly recommend. Excellent food, great service, nice atmosphere.
Bar Dough was a very fun experience! Try the Meatball app and the arugula salad. Pastas were ALL excellent and cooked perfectly Al-Dente. Service was outstanding and very knowledgeable about wines and products, as well as the history of the building. WE WILL BE BACK!
Excellent server and food ! Can’t wait to return again when we go back to Denver !
Scheduled a brunch for a friends baby shower. Service was fantastic and everything we ate was delicious. The Mom to be had a variety of mock tails to choose from and the rest of us enjoyed the alcoholic beverage options. The gluten free pizza crust is delicious.
We asked for a table on the patio and the hostess informed us that there were none available, but would be happy to put us on the waitlist. She indicated it would be about a half an hour. We decided not to wait and so sat down at our table. Within two minutes the hostess came over and said that a table had opened up and would we still like it. Great service and a nice way to start the evening. I mentioned on the way to the table that it was our anniversary and our waiter overheard. Not only did he wish us a happy anniversary, but they provided a free dessert for us, as well. The food was delicious, and the service was not rushed, which we really enjoyed. All in all, a terrific evening.
Such a great night with Bar Dough as always and even more special since there was a viewing party for Chef Carrie who Beat Bobby Flay on his own show!! Amazing food and always the best atmosphere and experience!! Thanks Carrie and crew for all your hard work and amazing eats!!
We loved it. I hope to see chef Carrie some time. I have sent many friends and relatives there.
This was my second time to Bar Dough. The first time I had pizza, which was great. This time I had ravioli, which was wonderful. They don't have a large menu, so there aren't a lot of choices. Some of the dishes are what I would call different, and things I wouldn't eat. But of the things I would eat, they sounded really good. It's a fun atmosphere and they have a cute patio for eating out in good weather. I would definitely go back.
Very loud, poor ambiance. Food was barely ok, pizza is chewy and got cold immediately. Good selection of drinks, but very expensive overall, considering food quality.
Also, 2 out of 3 bathrooms did not have any soap, let’s hope the third one did and staff was using that one.
Excellent brunch experience. Definitely recommend the pasta and any of the fancy toasts!
The service was great, and everything we ate was outstanding. My husband and I shared the fancy toast and the meatballs to start. We also tried the bucatini, the ravioli, and one of the pizzas. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I can see why this is such a popular neighborhood spot!
The vibe was great but the food was just OK. The service took awhile and while the intention was there, it didn’t translate to a great experience.
Wow, this place is dialed in. We had an amazing meal - fancy toast and meatballs to begin. The squid ink pasta and the crab pasta as a second course and then we finished the meal with a pistachio and almond crusted pork chop. Every bite was a delight.
It took 40 minutes for our food to come out and when it did it was cold. The restaurant was very noisy so we sat outside. Definition not worth the money. We won’t be back.
Innovative take on Italian cuisine. Absolutely delicious combination of flavors, Great service in a fun, young atmosphere. Happy Hour is a great way to try many different items. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bar Dough - I think we ate the Happy Hour menu entirely.
Wonderful desert - and great service. Fancy toast is a thumbs up!
Bar Dough did not disappoint. The food was phenomenal as well as the service. Similar to other reviews, the restaurant was incredibly loud. It was hard to hear across a two-top. Despite the noise level, I would definitely return.
The food was really good. Unfortunately, the service was weak, the table layout inconvenient, the bathroom was unclean, and the noise level high. I probably would not return or highly recommend.
Went on a date night and expected good things given the pedigree.
Overall the food was good. Most dishes we had learned more to the acidic side and just didn't have enough balance to be a great dish. The Pork Chop "Saltimbocca" was a standout as well as the zucchini desert. The wine selection (especially dessert/after dinner drinks) was very good.
Delicious food! Seating is cramped, great value ! Meatballs were amazing!! House tap wine great too!
One of the best in DENVER!
