Food was good, our pizza was cooked to perfection, however the toppings just didn’t go well together in my opinion. There are however many apps and pizzas to try so I can’t hold it against them for one dinner.
The restaurant was very crowded and seemed claustrophobic to me which makes the whole dining experience a little stressful. This is true unless of course you have a big enough party to warrant a large table. Also the restaurant was too bright for a Friday night dining spot. My date doesn’t need to see how ugly I am :p
The drinks here are amazing and well prepared by an excellent bartender. A bartender whose not only friendly and fun but an excellent mixologist with a killer style sense. Honestly if you can get here early enough or at a time where the bar isn’t already full this has to be one of the best bars in seattle from a strictly food/drink sense.
Regardless the thing that sets this restaurant apart is the service. Everyone who works the front of the house at Bar Cotto is amazing. They are fast, friendly, accurate, and so welcoming. Everyone is also just so happy that they really make this restaurant a joy to visit. Really can’t say enough about how great they are and how friendly they are!
One last note this restaurant, when crowded, is loud so it’s not a good choice for people hard of hearing or quiet talkers.
Will be back soon to try other dishes!
The pizza was really good, as well as the drinks. Service was great, too.
The best happy hour food in town. Upscale pizza and small plates. Delicious cocktails.
Great salad and pizza, very friendly staff. Nice casual. We will go back.
Ambience was great! Noise level was just the right level to have a conversation easily while maintaining a lively atmosphere.
Our server was great! She was extremely friendly and continuously checked in our us throughout the evening.
The roasted broccoli was an unexpected hit, and the cocktails tasted delicious.
TIP: The happy hour is fantastic, but you must be seated at the bar.
Bar Cotto used to be a favorite of ours but it seems to be going downhill.
We had a great experience at Bar Cotto! All the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating — not to mention great food! Will definitely come again!
Fantastic food but poor service. Waiter was rude, not helpful nor knowledgeable.
One of my favorite places in Seattle for the past 4 years. Great food, amazing atmosphere, friendly staff.
Pizza is what Bar Cotto is known for, but some of the sides were to die for! I particularly liked the squash. The pizza are large and good for sharing.
Their pizza is thin crust and flavorful! Awesome !
Food took too long. Appetizer wasn't very good. Pizza was great but we waited 45 minutes for it. Probably won't return.
Bar Cotto is one of our favorite date night spots. The pizza is always phenomenal and we can never get enough of the torta fritta. We were so sad to hear that Ethan Stowell is selling this restaurant. Bar Cotto is a gem!!
It was my sister’s 29th birthday
My husband and I were disappointed to hear that Bar Cotto and Anchovies and Olives are both for sale. That was one reason we went. We went on a Thursday evening at 7, and I am glad we had a reservation, the place was packed. In spite of it, the service was excellent. We had a couple of”damn fine negronis”, and they were. Good bruschetta to start, I love there mixed green salad, and the guanciale pizza. ( Very good, but I prefer the Parma.)
Better hurry in before it’s sold!
We received our drinks 30 minutes after sitting at our table and after our salad came. The soggy Pizza arrived, when we were halfway through , we received our appetizer :(. the food was average. The texture and taste were lacking. The service was non-existent, and the bill was high, including the 20% gratuity that we probably would have only given 15%.
I had a great overall experience here. Our server was very patient with us!
Great appetizers and pizza.
Fun place to hand out with friends
This place rocks! Nice and trendy atmosphere. Pizza was made in front of my eyes and was so good. Actually the best Pizza I had for a long time! Keep up the good work!
Another fantastic pizzeria in Seattle! Not only were the pizzas excellent, I enjoyed the variety of topics, used sparingly to complement the sublime crust.
But do not miss out on the appetizers: the sampler of 5 cold cuts was excellent, especially given that all of the meat was smoked / cured in house. The burrata with eggplant was stellar as were the pork belly crostini.
Overall a great place!
PS: Avoid the desserts, but if you must - get the mint ice-cream + chocolate chip cookie sandwiches.
Very casual, yet exceptional food. Service was great. Wait staff is super friendly and provided great suggestions. Cocktails were tasty and made well. Food is simple and delicious. Great neighborhood. Will come here again.
The happy hour menu is great value. We ordered two pizzas, salami platter and the bruschetta. I was dissapointed in the pizza as it turned rock hard a few minutes after it arrived. The crust was like cardboard and cheese turned into a layer of chewy plastic. The evening wasn't a complete disaster since the drinks were good and service was excellent.
Excellent Salumi and Pizzas. Loved the Funghi pizza, but the Salsiccia pizza was excellent also. The staff was warm and attentive.
Pizza was delicious!! 4 stars because I did not like my appetizer which was the broccoli crostini. It was very tart and over oiled. Otherwise we thought the pizza was outstanding. Our wine was great as well.
Service 4 stars because our waitress didn't come back to ask if she could get us another glass of wine, we had to flag her down and it was not very busy. But she was lovely and very sweet. Overall we did really enjoy this meal and will definitely be back for more pizza and wine!
This restaurant implements the mandatory 20% gratuity, which removes an incentive to earn that gratuity great customer service. The absence of this incentive is clearly evident by the exceptionally poor customer service. This has been the 2nd time this has happened.
Bar Cotto wasn't always like this. Having lived 2 blocks from it, the restaurant was excellent across the board. Once Seattle implemented the new changes to wages, I almost immediately saw a change in the performance of servers here.
The manager managed to find extra space for us last minute to squeeze in a few more friends for a bday dinner. They were generous and on-it re: plating our bday cake.
The pizza was underwhelming. The drinks and atmosphere were great though.
On a short vacation to Seattle, we came here on a recommendation. Our pizza was very good. The absolute highlight came as we inquired about having an amari (aperitif) flight. Ottara, the bartender, came to our table and was enthralling as he consulted with to help us make our selection. Ottara's knowledge and enthusiasm was engaging and made our visit much more of an experience rather than just a meal. Thanks, Ottara.
Overall great place from server knowledge to craft cocktails and great pizza
I will be back for sure to eventually sample all of the pizzas
Great pizza that is as close to nirvana as I have found out west. Thin crust with a crisp bottom and a chewy top and crust that is topped with just the right amount of sauce and cheese and any additions you like. Broccoli and the green salad were excellent. The Salumi charcuterie board and olives were a great starter. The service was awesome and attentive, we never had to ask for anything. About as good a dining experience as you could ever ask for.
