Service was great, speedy and attentive been with the Valentine’s rush. The food and cocktails are great!
Valentine’s Day dinner. We’ve dined here a few times. Carnitas are the best I’ve ever had. They also keep a Fieldwork hazy IPA on tap that I love. Delicious guacamole and Brussels sprouts. Excellent plating too.
Food was great; service was disorganized but eager to please; noise was ridiculous.
Wonderful place we return to often. Everything very good except the corn which we've had before was disappointing tonight.
A friend and I went to grab happy hour on a Friday. Service was great, food was quick and delicious. Pricing was great. Overall would def come back.
Loved our last visit there, forgot to review it but have reservations for tomorrow so what does that tell you, we love it!
Varied delicious options for brunch
Food was excellent. Service was horrible; it was like no one was in sync with another. There seemed to be only one person taking orders for every table. He seemed overwhelmed, but he stayed completely upbeat and his menu knowledge was great. Everyone else appeared to be food & drink runners. Food was delivered quite quickly but drinks took up to 20 minutes at one point, once ordered, but it took even longer to get someone’s attention to place the order. We’ll be back, but hope to see some improvements with service efficiency.
Food was okay. Shrimp in the ceviche had a strong iodine taste, like it was from the gulf coast. Shrimp in ceviche should have neutral, slightly sweet flavor. Grilled King Salmon was on the dry side. Margarita's were not balanced and a little bitter. Maybe because of un-ripe limes or not enough Cointreau. Fanfarron cocktail had too much jalapeno and bitterness. Again, not the right balance of heat, sweet and sour. I like spicy food but there was someone in the kitchen with a heavy hand. Even the guacamole had more heat than you would expect considering jalapenos were not listed as one of the ingredients. As they say in Mexico when food is made really spicy, the chef must have been angry when they made it.
Yummy food made with fresh, local ingredients. Great neighborhood hangout!
Food was mediocre at best.
We really appreciate the food and drinks but when service is awful it takes away from the experience.
Street tacos, ribs and burger delicious.
The Pork dinner is excellent. A must. Cocktails are great.
Delicious food. Lots of gluten free options for those who need that. Amazing cocktails! All in all a great experience!
I've been here many times. It's my go-to place for happy hour with friends and co workers. I took my other best friend here for dinner before a concert and she loved it too. They have the best tres leches cake I've ever tasted. I order it all the time. Food is awesome too. I especially love the tempura avocado wedges. Lots to choose from the menu.
It was more Mexican than Spanish. Portions were small.
My only complaint was that the music was loud when we first arrived. However our server was very responsive and turned it down.
The menu is absolutely great!
Well-prepared hash with potatoes and poached egg. Excellent French toast with fruit and creme anglaise. Pleasant setting, excellent service, a bit too noisy.
We enjoyed a late evening dinner after seeing two movies at the Piedmont. Food and drinks were all delicious, especially the shrimp tacos and the grilled corn. Good, friendly service and quiet enough for thoughtful and lively conversation.
The food was exceptional. Some of the best home fries and huevos rancheros I have ever had. Thanks.
Four of us had dinner together. Having been there many times, we knew that we would get good service and good food. We shared a number of tapes and entries including the delicious Brussels sprouts, guacamole and warm chips, fish tacos, enchiladas, chicken tacos...all as good as they usually are. Wait staff at Bar Cesar cot I use to be warm welcoming and in good spirits ad well worth a good tip! This is a great neighborhood spot for a small real, a large meal, a drink or two....and it is also worth a drive to get there.
Service was terrible- had to ask for water and to order a drink. Would have had another but waitress never came back. Husbands main dish never came so he had to go look for our server and ask what was keeping it to discover there was a mix up between the server and the kitchen and his entree was never ordered. There was a somewhat apology and that was that. Will never go back. Food was ok. Service obviously terrible.
Good food server. The hostess was distracted and seemed indifferent to us being there.
I’ve been coming here for the past couple years and I’ve never been disappointed.
we had salmon tacos and shrimp tacos--delicious. Sat at a table in front by the window--very pleasant. Service was helpful without being overbearing.
The food was fresh, well-prepared, and tasty. Service was friendly. But my entree was not delivered until after everyone else in our party of 7 was done eating. No apologies were offered.
The noise level was not "energetic" (as your rating scale has it); it was unbearably noisy! The "background music" was noisy and made people talk even louder. Conversation over the dinner table was more or less impossible.
Consistently fun place to grab drinks and food on Piedmont Ave.
Food was delicious. Good potion size for tapas. Friend and efficient service. House wine was okay, but many options available. Overall, great dining experience.
Terribly confused service. I'm empathetic when orders are mixed up the first time, but after three times, I gave up hope of receiving the drink I'd ordered. Not a great Happy Hour experience. We were a table of five, I'd reserved ahead, and because I work in food, I know I am a responsible and sensitive guest. I was extremely disappointed and will hesitate to visit Bar Cesar again.
I’m not sure what happened to the food here. It use to be great but this time it was terrible. We got tacos. Meats were so dry and tasted old. Service was awful. They kept forgetting my daughters food. Not going back.
Consistently delicious and accommodating. The manager is exceptional. Feel very lucky to live within walking distance. This is my go-to place, especially Warriors' games.
I’m a huge fan of this place. Great food, friendly staff. Very accommodating. Really can’t say enough good things.
I was somewhat concerned making this reservation, especially on a busy day....MOTHERS DAY....and also because we were taking a family member from out of town there to also celebrate Mothers Day with us.
We had great service.... Victor was very attentive and fun! Food was great...looked just like the photos on the website. Parking not an issue with the large parking lot behind the restaurant.
I have already recommended this restaurant to my son who is in the restaurant business. We will return.
The service was pleasant but uneven. The house drinks are always excellent. I had the Sangrada Margarita with Hibiscus and the Farmers Garden.
The food is solid with excellent with Guacamole and Patatas Bravas and a nice selection to Street Tacos form duck to fish to pork.
The service was very poor: we had a reservation but they tried to seat us by the bathroom despite empty but un-bussed tables, strange timing (people served at significantly different times, entrees before drinks, water after food), unfriendly attitude, long wait times. Food not great: Ceviche contained more cucumber than scallops. Chile relleno contained barely cooked veggies, hardly any cheese, and was smothered in watery sauce. At the end of the meal the waiter literally slapped the bill down without saying anything and walked away.
Thanks for the vegan options!
Great time at Dining Out for Life - they serve great food and give back to the community
We'd love to come back when the restaurant is not so busy and noisy, if that's possible. The food was excellent and there are many menu choices.
