What Insiders Are Saying
Bar Cantinetta is a small, quiet Italian restaurant in Capitol Hill with homemade pasta, pizzas, and a lot of romantic feels.
Lively neighborhood place (one of several locations of the "Cantinetta" brand), with out-of-this-world pasta and a very energetic vibe. Food was expertly prepared. Burrata appetizer was terrific.
Cool concept! Great Food!
Wonderful dinner on a Thursday night. The pasta and steak were out of this world!
Every meal I have had here has been excellent. They are very consistent. Small place that focuses on quality over quantity.
Wait service was amazing and food was impeccable.
Best value in the Madison Park area. Our "go to" spot for a tasty meal and friendly service.
The menu changes frequently and the cocktails are delish!
2nd time. Great food. Great service. Interesting menu and good happy hour!
Absolutely love this place! We had a special day to celebrate together, and they helped us celebrate with a corner table, complementary glasses of bubbly, their usual top-notch service, and accomodated dietary requests with ease and creativity. Thank you!!!
The size is very reminiscent of a European restaurant. Excellent food & service- nearly always full
good food and good ambience make it very cozy neighbourhood dining !
Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends. Small intimate setting with good food. We ordered the clams and flatbread during the happy hour and then stayed for dinner. Both the salmon and the risotto were good.
The space is small with tables packed very close together. The noise level was the loudest we've ever encountered. The menu, while good, is very limited. We will not return.
Had to wait 30 + mins to be seated even after my reservation. Food and cocktails are great!
Phenomenal service, food, and atmosphere. Couldn’t have picked a better place for date night!
Fantastic food. Comfortable vibe. Excellent experience.
Excellent service with fine Italian cuisine. Great wine menu. Conveniently located in the Madison Valley. The pizza was true Italian pizza. The pasta was wonderful!
We love Bar Cantinetta for the food, the wonderful staff, and the ambiance. Truly one of our favorites!
We cannot wait to go back and try more of the selections.
Bar Cantinetta is a favorite of friends of ours so we decided to try it on our own one Friday evening. We arrived a bit early because we did not know if it would be difficult to park. As it turned out, we were able to park on the street a block away. We had our pick of tables and chose one in the corner so we could sit next to each other and talk. It was perfect. The waitress came promptly and announced that we were still in time for Happy Hour-an unexpected bonus! My husband chose their house Manhattan, made with rye whiskey, port and smelling delightfully of oranges. We selected the Insalada Mista and a pizza from the Happy Hour menu. The salad dressing was light and flavorful on the red leaf lettuce. The pizza had a nice crust but was a bit on the cheesy side. We shared both and they were delicious and filling. We probably should have stopped eating then, however, the Dungeness Crab Risotto from the dinner menu proved to be too enticing to pass up, so we shared that as well. It was creamy and full of crab meat. We also shared the Tiramisu for dessert. One thing we appreciated is that we ordered , except for the happy hour items, each thing seriatum. There was no rush even though the restaurant was full when we left. The bartender, Hugo, was especially delightful and attentive.
Went there on a first date. Excellent venue!
Good selection of foods; cozy table for two; noise level stayed manageable throughout the evening.
Great food all around. I got two apps and my guest and I both ordered entrees and dessert. This is a spot to come back to for sure.
We had our dinner al fresco outside and it was delightful. Great food, great service. I had the pasta and my friend had the Italian pizza. Both were delicious.
Always enjoy this restaurant. Service is great and food delicious.
This restaurant was good! It's very small, so you have to squeeze between tables and sit on benches, but the food was fantastic.
This is one of our favorite restaurant in Seattle. The food is always excellent and the service never disappoints us. I highly recommended.
They lost our dinner order. The waitress wasn’t paying attention and we had to tell her. Not enough staff. Disappointing
I’ve always loved Bar Cantinetta. We reserved a table for four and when we arrived learned it was a set menu only with a pork focus for each course. One person in our party was vegetarian & another doesn’t eat pork for religious reasons. We worked around it because at that point we didn’t have time to find somewhere else to go on such short notice and had somewhere else to be immediately afterwards. It would have been really nice to have been told at the time of making the reservation that it was a different kind of night with the set pork menu so we could have chosen to go elsewhere or come here another evening.
We made reservations for a Thursday night. When we showed up we learned it was a fixed price meal. We're glad we stayed because it was delicious.
An agonizingly slow 3 hour meal for 6 people. Food, when it arrived, was very good, but portions are tiny. Small portions are fine, as long as diners are aware. By the time you get your food, it’s too late to order more. My husband and I eat light, so we normally split an entree, but this was unsplittable. Service was good when we got it, but far too infrequent. One server for the entire restaurant. Go for lunch, not for dinner, and be ready for S-L-O-W service.
This is a little gem of a restaurant. It is small and cozy, but not real loud. The menu is limited, but every item is top quality. We shared a delicious appetizer of fried artichoke, then two entrees....an awesome pizza and an authentic Bolognese pasta dish. Finally, some zeppoli with mascarpone to end the meal. Fabulous and highly recommended!
The management at this restaurant seems to be subtle, effective, friendly,
and superb. The servers really care about you.
Great food and service at this small neighborhood restaurant. The night we visited there was a large party of 12 that took up 1/2 the restaurant and they were loud he small kitchen seemed overwhelmed and we waited a long time for our entrees. The server brought us glasses of wine and apologized for the delay. Consistently good food. We will try again and hope it’s not as crowded.
Great food. Amazing service. Prices to die for. So glad we came!!!
Absolutely wonderful! Great play list! The seating is seating is close, but the food more than makes up for that. This is the first time in 8 years when we have been reminded of our honeymoon in Italy! Excellent food - every single dish! A definite repeat for us!
This is one of the best Italian restaurants we've been to. The fried artichokes, sausage pizza, and beignets were amazing. Service was great, small cozy space was delightful. We will definitely be back.
Very good service. Great Pici pasta and better than average pizza. Small but good Italian wine list. Will be back.
By far the best dinner I’ve had in Seattle!! Burrata antipasti, risotto with asparagus, affogoto semifreddo were flavorful, perfectly prepared, appealing presentation and amazingly delicious. Intimate, stylish atmosphere with knowledgeable staff that were attentive without being intrusive.
Awesome and fun experience!
Great find! Came here for restaurant week and would enjoy going back. Fun for a couple or a group of friends. Lovely food and service.
We love all the Cantinetta restaurants!! Always consistent and delicious!
