Amazing, delicious and great service. Best breakfast in town.
My daughter and I were able to get a great vegetarian dinner thanks to the accommodating waiter and kitchen. And I had a nice glass of wine. The waiter was terrific.
A bit disappointing given DB reputation. While food quality was excellent, the mussels were overpowered by garlic, the medium rare burger was overcooked, and overall it was a good, not great meal. And our server was clearly untrained, with others having to step in to keep things moving.
Wait was exorbitantly long - we waved down 3-4 servers every time we needed anything (water refill, change of plates, getting our check) and still didn’t get a response until much later. The fact that a meal consisting of two appetizers and a single entree when the restaurant wasn’t too busy took almost 3 hours is ridiculous. Also, we sat there for 40 minutes while waiting for appetizers without any bread - until it came AFTER we were already done with the appetizers. Not sure what’s going on, but this is the first time I’ve been disappointed with Bar Boulud’s service.
Amazing food!! Wonderful service.
I did not like my meal and my server did not even ask "how is the food so far" so I could potentially choose something else. The experience was drawn out too long - to the point where it did not seem purposefully.
Disappointing visit due to very poor service. Starters arrived fairly quickly but we waited more than an hour for our entrees with no explanation. Doubtful we'll return.
The food was absolutely delicious and they had a great wine selection. Our waiter was excellent.
Sadly another example of a celebrity chef slapping their name on a truly third-rate restaurant concept. The so called Frenchie burger was awful. The meat was poor and there was a bitter taste to the condiments. The fries were so over-fried and over-salted that they were inedible. The Coq au Vin was impressive in size, but the chicken was dry and the accompanying spaetzle was rubbery and tasteless. I had stayed away for years because of my doubts concerning celebrity spin-offs, but finally caved and went. I will never make that mistake again.
The price of a kale salad that had no taste was $16.00
The price of a fair onion soup was $15.00. The sea bass was good but not worth $32.00
The fried oysters could have been anything fried and over breaded
I had been here before and feel that the prices have gone up and the quality of food has gone down
The waitress was professionsl
Excellent meal and service. Freshest ingredients and wonderful atmosphere 👍
Wonderful place. The food was excellent and our server was phenomenal - friendly and knowledgeable.
Excellent service and food.
Seated immediately. Lovely atmosphere
Amazing way to celebrate our anniversary!
For the price, lunch was nothing special at all. It was good but not a place I'd go back to. Would rather try other places with my limited fine dining budget.
Bar Boulud is a lovely location with impressive ambiance.
They are attentive and see to the customer's needs.
The food is good but not for the price, and although the bubbly and wine were fine, again the prices are wildly expensive.
A yes or no to the question "would you recommend..." is difficult because I feel badly to say no; except "yes"
to the excessively wealthy that would not care about the costs.
They brought a lovely dessert tray for my husbands birthday
It was good, but not outstanding
Creative, tasty, seasonal cocktails. I had the lobster roll. There was a generous amount of lobster with a tasty sauce in a deliciously toasted, buttered roll. My friend had the hamburger which was perfectly cooked. It came with a hearty helping of excellent fries.
Amazing lobster roll for lunch and great wines by the glass
We sat at the bar. The service was excellent. We really didn’t know what we wanted to eat, but the staff helped us decide and the selections were spot on.
I have been walking by Bar Boulud for decades, not at all interested in going is because it is a “Hotel Restaurant”. Lose that thinking and check it out.
Sit at the bar, there is a taller French fellow, sorry I forgot his name, who just knows what he is doing. Ask him for his desert recommendation!
Each staff member our party interacted with was very attentive and so kind. The food was fantastic as well. All in all, a beautiful dining experience.
Bar Boulud is a place wherein all are welcome! You will feel that immediately as you walk into their uniquely appointed space. Comfortable and warm sets the tone and then the food far exceeds any excitations in terms of value, flavor, creativity and outstanding French cuisine. If you have room after the meal, I suggest the chees plate and you must end with the homemade madeleines served in a handmade napkin basket. The elegance and care with which the staff approach their work only enhances the overall experience. It is a must go!
Very good food at appropriate prices. Oysters were extremely fresh and sweet. Good selection .
The waiter forgot to order our appetizer and the hostess immediately offered free desserts while we were trying to enjoy our lunch
It was not about the money re the deserts it was about not getting our appetizer and this was a business lunch
We had lunch outdoors. It was a beautiful day. The crab cake was delicious. The service was great.
Food and service was very good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Portions were pretty good as well, menu just a bit pricy
Very nice casual supper , delicious mushroom risotto.
If this was the only restaurant in Boston, it would still be a great foodie town. Absolutely delicious meal, thoughtful, professional service and very comfortable.
Fabulous as always ! My go to restaurant every time I visit Boston.
It is a favorite place to visit when I travel to Boston. The food this time was disappointing.
Great value on the Dine Out Boston menu. This is our third Daniel Boulud restaurant experience and none has been disappointing.
As always, Bar Boulud didn't disappoint. Impeccable service and great food.
The escargot and fois gras were amazing. My friend and I are still talking about it.
This was a breakfast meeting. An outstanding place to meet because the venue is both spot on with the food and service but the room is quiet and the tables big. This is a place to get the job done.
Never on Sunday! This was my first visit to Bar Boulud. It may not be my last, but I will never come back anytime that the kitchen is not able to prepare FRESH entrees. The salmon was joined to a leather shoe soul. Obviously prepped and reheated. The loup de mare was an affront to Mediterranean cuisine. The filet was served skin-side up. The prep was so old that the skin had shrunk and stuck down-the edges of the portion has turned brown and tough. Oh, the best joke was yet to come-when the waitperson exclaimed that the peche melba was “sold out-YESTERDAY.” Out question “Was it the peche or the melba that died?” The bill was excessive even if the food had been yummy. With superb alternatives only steps away, give Bar BooBoo’d a pass.
Eggs were served cold, then replacement was not made to order. Eggs covered in parsley instead of the cilantro as on the menu. Asked for salt and pepper, was never brought to table. Servers were polite, manager apologetic and accommodating.
Good food, but overpriced.
Steak was undercooked, but all in all, great experience. I'd go back there for sure!
Ideal combination of superb interesting good and excellent ambiance for a conversation
