Bar Boulud at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

Wonderful to go to a restaurant that actually gives good, consistent service. From the door staff, host, waiting staff and the managers, they were all spot on. Thank you all.

It’s amazing how a restaurant can change. Whilst it is 2 years since my last visit this place is now a very poor version of the restaurant it once was. Clearly the Knightsbridge set have moved on. The menu, food and service are now basic and really poor value for money. Sad to say this won’t be somewhere I will go back to again. I would avoid. It’s now just a hotel restaurant rather than a great restaurant in a hotel.

We loved our experiences at Bar Boulder this week!! Impeccable service, food, and ambiance. Friendly place too.

Very disappointed with the service. Seated for 15 minutes and had to ask for menus then waited another 10 minutes to order. People next to us arrived after us and had already got their drinks and ordered their food. As we could see things were taking so long all we ordered was a charcuterie plate and soup. In total we spent 1 hour 40 minutes just for a bowl of soup. We also had to ask twice just to get the bill. We were staying at the hotel and were extremely surprised by the service in this restaurant.

Amazing food and very friendly service. Unpretentious but very high quality. We went to celebrate a birthday and they gave a lovely mousse treat with happy birthday written in icing. A very nice touch I thought.

I will go again, I had a very nice time and would like to try other dishes.

The staffs are really nice and kind. The food here is amazing, with nice ambience and musics, a very nice place to gather up with friends or having a date night.

Called in here for impulse lunch and was surprised about the value ambiance and friendly and efficient service and it’s so close to Harrodsburg business and next to Knightsbridge tube good place for Informal lunch

Had one of the best meals within memory. Menu truly authentic French. Our two main courses, quenelles and roast guinea hen were done perfectly.
Wine list is extensive. Prices high but what one has come to expect for the classier wines.
Ambience still a bar bistro, less enticing than the food. Sommelier Miguel excellent.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, lively music but not to loud that obstructs conversations. The staff where professional and courteous, coming to the table at the right times, bringing the food at a prudent amount in between, and not taking long to fulfil small requests.

The food was amazing, although I got what I wanted, I wish there was less hearty options that is not a salad. I would find it difficult to bring someone to the restaurant who has a different taste then I do. I wish the dessert menu as well had more options like a simple cake or a pie. Sometimes the simplest thing is exactly what you need after a great meal.

Fantastic food, excellent service, but the place needs updating

First time diner. Pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options. The vege burger was delicious and our party of 4 all agreed that the french fries were perfecto!!!
Good wine menu though my waiter didn't quite know his grapes as well as he might've tried... I managed to get something I liked so all was well.
I would recommend Bar Boulud to anyone and everyone looking for a classy place to dine that won't let you down. (not that pricey)

Been a while since I came here and it's not as good as I remember. Food was "OK", not bad but not memorable either. The skate in particular was way too salty but generally most of the dishes were. We didn't like the service - on the one hand clearing up as soon as the last bite had been eaten (or was still being eaten), on the other forgetting to bring things we'd ordered or one two occasions bringing two when we'd ordered one. A bit of a mess really

We all had a fabulous lunch to celebrate my husbands 60th Birthday. Delicious food, probably the best burger in town! The oysters and snails were top notch . We had the profiterole the finish and they were lovely.

Also forgot to mention the fantastic cocktails.

Looking forward to our next visit.

The atmosphere is lovely- friendly and welcoming. The food in general was of a very good quality, only let down was how oily the French Onion soup was. Other than that - will definitely be coming back!

Nice enough restaurant, however staff oscillated from overkill (three different members of staff working the table) to zero (merrily chatting amongst themselves and not noticing the clients).

Little flexibility in the menu, very limited side orders and even with a children’s menu it’s again not that flexible.

Somewhat surprised we had to make a reservation for 6pm in a Wednesday, especially as he restaurant was empty (14 guests when we left at 7.45pm) In addition you receive two email confirmations and reminders and then have to confirm by calling the restaurant (what’s the point in using an online platform if I have to call the restaurant, surely they should call you as the client?) seems like a pointless booking system. Put another way, if the aim is to make it hard and time consuming then they are fast approaching success in this respect.

Additionally frustrated that the restaurant was unable to accept or process the bill using an American Express card, especially strange as the restaurant was suggested by American Express’s Concierge team.

Work to be done I’m afraid.

Always reliable, consistent, nice looking food.
The waitress responsible for our table was extremely efficient and bubbly/friendly - and provided a high level of service.
The charcuterie board was very good and included unusual offerings, but the burger didn't quite live up to expectations.
The blackberry soufflé was too delicate for my taste, although the yoghurt sorbet was excellent!

Amazing food

Impeccable service, delicious food and good ambiance. Best burgers in town.

Admittedly a late evening booking on a wet and quiet evening, but as soon as the plates had been cleared, the noise began. Not the noise of people enjoying themselves, but a deliberate crash and bang of cutlery and furniture moving by particular member of staff who clearly felt we should leave. Having asked for the bill and paid a visit to the facilities, we found our belongings left by the back door. Indeed a very subtle hint! Being local I have spent many happy hours at Bar Baloud, but this was by far the worse experience I have ever had. Come on Mandarin sort it out. If you don't want your guests, don't open your doors!

Terrible decor and basement feel. Cheesy music and relatively average food. Excellent staff though.
