We have dined here several times and it is always perfect. Great food, service, bar drinks, and wine. Our go to special date night. Highly recommended.
Yummy food but much pricier than indicated on opentable. Very nice staff and atmosphere. Table ready much later than reserved.
The pork brisket was perfectly prepared; the cocktail "Coming and Going" was fresh, tasty and icy cold.
The Soup and the stringazzi were fantastic. So were our cocktails, and the service was super.
However, the rest of what we ate (prawns, mixed salad, potatoes, marcona almonds, etc) were uninspired , poorly prepared (over cooked almonds, gamey prawns, flavorless salad) and underwhelming.
We’ll be back but only to enjoy a drink at the bar. The ambiance (music playlists, low lighting, friendly servers) was great. But the food was unfortunate and the entire experience was overpriced for its value.
Every single thing was outstanding. We have already told friends. Music was a bit too loud.

Even though Bar Avignon is a neighborhood gem, it should be a destination restaurant with its great food, good value, and warm hospitality. Often overlooked in the crush of SE Division restaurant choices, this place feels like it has been there forever and plans to stick around. I sure hope it does.
My three girlfriends and I each had a different entrée and we each relished what we ate wishing at the end that we had spoons to lap up the juices left on our plates. One friend who had the bison short rib pappardelle said the following morning that this could have easily been the finest meal she had ever had. I had the duck and found it sublime, so juicy and succulent. It was refreshing that the four of us could sit across from each other and not have to yell like you do at so many restaurants these days. I was visiting from Seattle and wish we had a Bar Avignon!
First time here but not the last. Small and intimate, we sat by the window and enjoyed oysters and a cheese platter to start, so good. Timing was perfect from course to course and the wait staff was right on point. Make reservations a must and don’t be in a hurry.
Great spot, awesome food, nice ambiance, the drinks were amazing and food is delicious! A bit pricey and food took quite a while, server also made a mistake on our bill but was quick to fix it. Overall great experience and will certainly come back.

Under the radar but this is still possibly the best restaurant on SE Division and it is definitely worth a trip to visit. I love it more that it is a 20 minute walk from my home.

Bar Avignon is our go to spot. The food is spot on every time - we've never had a bad meal or poor service. The Coq au Vin was new to the menu and we really enjoyed it. Great wine list and they make a mean martini!

We dine at bar Avignon quite often. Always a good experience. Last nights coq a vin was particularly wonderful- get it while it's on the menu!
Bar Avignon is one of our favorite restaurants, even with the change in Chefs the food is still excellent and I can't say enough good things about the friendly staff and knowledgeable on the wines they serve. Hope we can get back to going regularly.
Phenomenal food - The mussels are subtle and amazing and just melt in your mouth. The chicken liver mousse is heavenly and smooth with no aftertaste -and is served with yummy bread, unlike another local highly-touted establishment that serves it with saltines... The risotto is a tiny explosion of mushroom flavors hitting all the right senses. The lemon drop cocktail, not your typical lemon drop, is smooth and uniquely satisfying with undertones of lavender and/or honey. I highly recommend Bar Avignon for a wonderfully memorable meal.
The food platinwas excellent. The service wasn't top notch and there was quite a few times when we had to remind our server that he needed to get our drink order, refills and such.
