We had a bad experience this past Saturday- service was exceptionally slow and our food was cold! For the price we paid it should have been warm and faster- it also took forever to get a beverage. Overall disappointed.
My wife and I dined at Bobby Flays Bar Americain for our very rare and once in a blue moon date night. We were seated right away and Jana came right over and she was spectacular. I had the strip and my wife had the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly and portion size was right on point. We want to commend Jana for her superior service and making our night fantastic before we went on to see Dane Cook. Cheers!
Food was good, server seemed annoyed and rushed away from the table. Very loud.
Food was amazing!! I had the duck and my sister had the salmon, both were delicious. BlackBerry souflé for dessert was amazing. We sat at the bar and met some really friendly people and the bartender Tommy was awesome!!
My husband and I treated ourselves to a great meal prior to seeing a show at Mohegan Sun.
Service was technically fine but zero personality. It was our 20th anniversary and not special at all. Won’t go back again.
We've eaten at Bar Americain on several occasions. They presented us with a beautiful and very tasty meal. Everyone enjoyed the apps, I had deviled eggs (something I don't normally have) and enjoyed the diet busting taste. My wife had a filet mignon and loved it. My chioppano was full of clams, mussels, shrimp and other seafood. Low cal and delicious. When you add in a solid 4 star hotel and great entertainment, Mohegan Sun is a fun place to spend an evening.
First no one told me there would be kale in my Caesar salad. What a bitter taste. Then I ordered American Fries that were hard and worst then the fries my grandson gets at McDonalds after they get cold. This was the dinner I ate before going to a great show. What a disappointment after spending almost 200.00 Anne Durand
Nice restaurant, kinda pricy... Food was good but not great. Waitress seemed a little annoyed with us but she did a good job. Probably try a different restaurant next time we go to Mohegan Sun.
Excellent service and food. I highly recommend and will be returning soon!
We were a couple of minutes late for our reservation but were seated immediately. The noise level here is a bit much sometimes, but it’s at a casino - it’s to be expected. The food was great it has been in the past, but the service started out slow. We were seated for about ten minutes before our drink order was taken, and then it was another 5+ minutes before bread came. Our server took our order when she delivered our drinks, and I felt the pace of the meal was as appropriate from that time on. It was a Saturday night and was busy.
I started with the Gulf Shrimp and Grits, one of my favorites on the menu. It was delicious as always. My date’s flatbread pizza was slightly overdone on the edges but was still very enjoyable. We shared the house potato chips with Bleu cheese dressing - if you haven’t had these at Bar Americain, you’re missing out. I don’t even like Bleu cheese but they are so good! My date ordered the NY Strip medium rare, and it was cooked to near perfection. I had the filet medium, and it was also almost perfect - just a tad more rare than I expected in the middle, but still delicious. We sadly skipped dessert because we were too full. This was my third visit to this location, and it didn’t disappoint.
It was our first time and we’ll be back! ❤️
Delicious food and excellent service. Our waiter Dan was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The food was amazing and couldn’t of asked for a better overall dining experience
We have eaten at several of Bobby Flay’s restaurant in New York and Las Vegas. The food and service was always very good. Here at the Mohegan Sun, the service was fair to poor. It took about 25 minutes to get our drinks- a bottle of wine, 2 beers, a cocktail, and a sprite. Food took about an hour. The tables that were sat after us all got their food before us. Our food came in shifts-everyone’s meals were not served together, our sides came about 5 minutes after everyone in our party finally got their meals. We were never checked on until long after everyone had finished...water glasses sat empty, plates were not taken away when food was done. The wait staff were congregating having a conversation. The bathrooms were disgusting-garbage all over the floor. The food was great, as always, but I cannot recommend this restaurant. I would not go back. Wait until you visit a city to try his restaurants, this one was not up to par.
The service was great and so was MOST of the food. Oysters were fresh and delicious, salads were unique and filled with contrasting yet complimentary tastes. My husband's pork chop dish was amazing. However, the bench seating was a turn-off for a place so pricey, and my filet mignon was a bit dry and overcooked, completely unacceptable for a $50 price tag. We probably won't be back.
Food was ok I had the mussels half of them opened up was there to celebrate my friends 50 didn’t want to complain. I’ve eaten there multiple times through the years menu hasn’t changed much. Very disappointed very loud large group of people playing with their phones too there should be rules and policies in place so other people can enjoy themselves.
Everything was great .. Karen our waitress did a great job
Always a great meal !
Food was not great AT ALL. Crab cake was really fishy, we sent it back. Cesar salad an actual fish sitting on top if it. Filet mignon was just ok for being $50 per steak. Took an hour for our appetizers to come out.
staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Food was delicious. HIGHLY recommend the filet mignon, cauliflower gratin, and praline profiteroles. All were out-of-this-world.
One of the nicest restaurants I have ever been in. Due to its size, the noise level was a bit high but expected. Waiter service was perfect.
This was literally the best meal I’ve ever had! I got the lobster because it was a little less expensive than the rib eye. The lobster was cooked perfectly. It melted in my mouth. It was out of shell and there was plenty of meat. The buerre blanc was to die for. Geo was our server and he was delightful. Best restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time!
I expect to pay a lot at Mohegan, and that's what we got. I was a little put off that the waiter was so clearly up- selling only the most expensive items. Dessert was the least of the courses we had, the pistachio creme brulee. It was a fine experience, I'd go again, but I wasn't in love.
Bar Americain at Mohegan Sun always has been my favorite restaurant in this casino, and it never ceases to surprise and delight! The food, drinks, decor, ambiance, and service are impeccable -- and I still cannot get the thought of those succulent homemade potato chips with bleu cheese dip off my mind! Absolutely cannot wait to return for another special occasion. Don't miss the trio of seafood for an appetizer... and ask for fresh horseradish. It's DIVINE!
Sean, our waiter was AWESOME! Friendly, polite, knowledgeable (with food and bourbons) and COOL all at the same time. Hard to find such a well versed employee. A genuine asset!
Great all around !
When hearing it was our anniversary, not even 90 seconds seemed to pass when our server brought us some complimentary champagne. Lovely touch.
the wait staff was lovely. the food was awful and over priced. I ordered the tasting of the shellfish cocktails... $27. 3 samples... 1) 2 (yes only2!) overcooked shrimp in about 1 Tbsp of tomatillo sauce. 2) crab and coconut... no coconut.... carb and maybo. 3) lobster and avocado, which was disgustingly brown and tasted like old avocados and onions and no lobster at all. Over all fail. not worth the money AT ALL.
Our fourth time here. Delicious food and outstanding service.
Great date night dinner!
Ever time we go to a concert at Mohegan Sun, this is where we eat.
The seafood Cioppino is excellent! My Wife always gets the fried chicken, which is also very good. The waitstaff is always very attentive, and suggests what is good.
Cocktails are a little pricey, but well-made, it is a casino after all.
Wow, what a delightful meal we had! The clams on the half shell that I started with were absolutely spectacular, sweet, salty, chilled and with a great cocktail sauce. So yummy.
Jim had a great rib-eye steak, cooked to perfection. He ordered the grilled mushrooms and onions as a side dish and he did not like them at all. He told our waitress, Stephanie, and she just took them right off the bill. I had the rack of pork, so good! Served with an apple puree, sauce of some kind, which was delicious. The side was Brussel sprouts ,which I am not a big fan of, but they were made with pomegranate seeds and hazelnuts, which were really good.
The bread that comes to the table is a mixture of different rolls and corn bread sticks, also quite yummy. We had excellent service. I highly recommend eating here if you are at Mohegan Sun Casino or if you live in the area. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Josh and Tommy and Marian, the bartenders, are fantastic and always make the evening fun
Outstanding choice while staying at Mohegan Sun. The best time to visit, is between Monday-Thursday. The service was excellent (Thanks Shawn), the atsmosphere calm and relaxing and the food was great.
We totally enjoyed the food and the people I was with!
Tommy the bartender was short, unpleasant, and seemed not to care that we were dropping $400 dollars.
His daughter was sitting at the bar and my nephew said a hello, and Tommy acted defensive and told my nephew In a protective voice, that's my daughter! Not a good way to end the night!!!!
It was my fathers birthday and it was an amazing meal, the service was first class and all of the food was delivered quickly and was great.
Went here for a birthday dinner over the weekend, everything was great, wife had the rack of pork which was delicious and enormous, I had the leftovers the following night and still couldn't finish it, I had the shrimp and grits (highly recommend) and the NY strip, good atmosphere, not very quiet but hey you're at the casino!
It was awful. We waited 45 minutes between our salad and entree. Filet mignon served with two pieces of shrived onion. Restaurant was not crowded. Hot potato chips a joke. Basically kettle chips with blue cheese dip. I had requested a slice of birthday cake with a candle when I made the reservation and nothing. Jeff was more interested in shmoozing some pretty girls than finding out where the filet went. The filet presentation was an embarrassment to your once good name I told jeff I was unhappy with the long wait and he threw the check at me. Third time here. Never again. Uninspiring menu. Poor presentation. Tasteless filet and miserable service.
Have been there a few times. Food is good but overpriced for what you get. We go to a lot of high-end restaurants that they give you more for the price. Overall experience is good service is great.
The management, Chef and staff provide the best experience to every customer. We will be back!
