It’s hard to believe that Bar 163 has been in Egham since 1984. More than 20 years on, 163 looks and feels as fresh as ever and continues to attract a varied crowd of young and not so young, professionals and students alike. Originally a bar with food, the menu has become so popular over the years that we can safely call Bar 163 a restaurant. The Mediterranean inspired dishes have a real taste of summer - exactly what you’ll be after if you find yourself lucky enough to nab a table in the relaxing secret garden. But despite the food the relaxed, lively bar vibe remains, making this Egham’s most well loved venue.

I am not a big fan of this restaurant, although the food was ok and the service excellent. The bottle of red wine came to us cold and was spoiled by this. the waitress did take it to the kitchen to warm it up! i thought the meal was quite expensive for what it was. i would go back but not with enthusiam.

I have lived in Egham for 7 years and have always enjoyed meals at 163. The food is great, the service is excellent and the location/ambiance are perfect. However, although from ambiance perspective bar 163 is fine for children they do not offer children's menu. Also...and this is a grip I have always had a bar 163...they run out of food so quickly! We arrived at 12pm, which to me is the very start of lunch service, only to be told upon ordering that they had run out of rack of ribs....HOW??? We were one of the first to order! This is not the first time this has happened and is particularly annoying. Other than those 2 things another 1st class meal. I would recommend.

Lovely little bistro with a friendly ambience. Despite a large party taking place their was no discruption to the casual diner. The food was excellent too

Bar 163 was very busy, the staff were very attentive and the food adequate. We enjoyed our lunch time.

There were 4 of us not 5 who went to Bar 163, as one of our party was unable to turn up. we had a pleasant meal which we all enjoyed. we will return. We found it strange that students used one of the tables as their office with computers and books etc but only water in front of them ( at least while we were there, which was for three hours) while a large party was turned away!

This was my first visit to Bar 163 although the decor was different and quirky and the service, at first was good, I wasn't overly immpressed with the food. Particularly the dessert which was a stodgy cheesecake. Towards the end of the evening, as it became busy, the service was definitely lacking. To rectify this would be to employ more people particuarly when you have a party booking. Not in a huge hurry to return.

When I drove down Egham High Street to park up for Bar 163, I completely missed it. However, after parking and looking more closely I found it tucked next to Iceland and opposite a church and pub. The service was average; 2 waitresses kept coming over to us and both asked the same questions. By the time we wanted to order it took them a while to come over. Food was good and came out quick. It was pretty quiet for a Friday night but that suited us! Overall, it's good but slightly expensive.
