Bannock Ratings and Reviews
First time at Bannock, reserved a time for this past valentines day. Complete experience from start to finish was excellent. All the staff that we interacted with were professional, friendly, courteous and engaging. Special mentions goes to our waiter, Ryan, he was the pinnacle of what good service means in a restaurant and was thoroughly engaging and enjoyable. The food was solid from start to finish. We choose the pierogies to start and followed up with fish and chips as well as the pork shoulder. As I had the fish and chips, I highly recommend it as it was generous in portions but the fish remained light and flaky! All in all a great experience, highly recommended it.
We made reservations to go for lunch. We got seated quickly however I wish we had a different table considering we had a reservation. We were a party of two seated in between two long tables on either side of of large parties. We saw empty tables in another part of the restaurant not sure why we wouldn't be able to sit there.
Service was very good I had a berry mojito which was delicious. I had the veggie wrap for lunch which was huge, delicious and more than filling. My husband had the fish and chips he said they were very good. I could attest the french fries were good! We shared a butter tart for dessert probably one of the best butter tarts I've ever eaten.
As I said there was a lot of people around us so it was quite loud but we still had a nice time and would probably go back.
This date was overall good, but not great. Our server seemed to be in a huge rush and wasn’t very pleasant to talk to, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. He didn’t introduce himself and he raced through the specials and features. Service was quick and he remembered everything right, but every time he came over i was less then excited to see him.
I got the margarita pizza which even with raw whole tomato slices on top (which i dont like), was quite good. My drink, although very weak was tasty and cheap. I was pretty pleased with that.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautifully designed and was very clean and presentable.
Happy I went, not sure if I’ll go back.
Just disappointed. Food was fine but not great, not as good as it should be from this company. Service was poor - we waited for our table despite ha Inc made a reservation, it took ages to get us our food. Lunch, which should take an hour max at a location like this, was 90 min.
Enjoyed winterlicious lunch had a lovely pear & cranberry salad the then the beef burrito & finished off with a wonderful gingerbread with lemon dessert & had coffee. The service was good & attentive. Had a spanish beer which was nice. Enjoyable meal after the Raptors game.
I was very happy with our dinner experience at Bannock. It was the first for all of us and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious and well prepared food. Service was great, aside from an order being taken in wrong, but it was remediated and served out quickly.
I’ve been to Bannock a few times during different time of the day and year and have never been disappointed. Came here this time for Winterlicous and definitely enjoy the drinks and menu. The aspect that made this experience different from the past few was the slight rush to get out table closed. Personally I like a better bit of speedy service. We finished at a little over 1 hr but still enjoyed the experience.
Excellent. Went for Winterlicious and was pleasantly surprised. Food was flavorful and came out fast. Service was quick but we did not feel rushed. Our water glasses never went empty. Impressed with the size of the portions, thought we would still be hungry afterwards but we were quite stuffed! Tables were very close together and not that intimate however.
Had a delicious winterlicious meal, punctuated by a candle on my dessert because it was my birthday. Every course was delicious, especially the soup with cheddar cream, meatball pizza, and gingerbread. Excellent casual and friendly service. The dining room get a bit crowded when filled - the tables are not that far apart from each other and there are no dividers in the room, giving it a bit of a cafeteria feel, but the rustic Canadiana decor makes up for it!
I was delighted with the service and food quality at Bannock. I had the Winterlicious menu with cauliflower soup, chicken burrito and a gingerbread cake for dessert. The value was excellent at 23 dollars. The quantity of the chicken burrito was delicious with superb fries. I had raspberry cordial that was sparkly and divine. The service was superb with attentive and friendly servers. The host asked if there were any allergies and I informed her that I had a tree nut allergy and the staff were very sensitive to my needs by telling me that they would ensure that no nuts were in the food. The ambiance was a cozy Canadiana feel conveniently located at Queen street subway next to the Bay. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
Went for Winterlicious. Pre-fixed menu was not too bad for the price. Soup was tasty as was duck confit. One thing I couldn't understand why the side dish (mashed potatoes) was covered with a fried egg but maybe this was their chef's creativity. The desert was very good as an overall impression of the place.
My boyfriend and I went here for winterlicious. It was a bit pricey, but the food was amazing. We are students keep that in mind, but it was out of our price range. If not for that we would definitely eat here again. Everything was amazing, the staff was exceptionally polite, and I don't think my water glass went empty all night.
